- Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
- And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
- And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
- They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
- Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

- イエス は オリ ― ブ 山へ 行かれた．
- 朝早く， 再び 神殿の 境內に 入られると， 民衆が 皆， 御自分のところにやって 來たので， 座って 敎え 始められた．
- そこへ， 律法學者たちや ファリサイ 派の 人¿が， 姦通の 現場で 捕らえられた 女を 連れて 來て， 眞ん 中に 立たせ，
- イエス に 言った． 「先生， この 女は 姦通をしているときに 捕まりました．
- こういう 女は 石で 打ち 殺せと， モ ― セ は 律法の 中で 命じています． ところで， あなたはどうお 考えになりますか． 」

- This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
- So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
- And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
- And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
- When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

- イエス を 試して， 訴える 口實を 得るために， こう 言ったのである． イエス はかがみ ¿み， 指で 地面に 何か 書き 始められた．
- しかし， 彼らがしつこく 問い 續けるので， イエス は 身を 起こして 言われた． 「あなたたちの 中で 罪を 犯したことのない 者が， まず， この 女に 石を 投げなさい． 」
- そしてまた， 身をかがめて 地面に 書き 續けられた．
- これを 聞いた 者は， 年長者から 始まって， 一人また 一人と， 立ち 去ってしまい， イエス ひとりと， 眞ん 中にいた 女が 殘った．
- イエス は， 身を 起こして 言われた． 「婦人よ， あの 人たちはどこにいるのか． だれもあなたを 罪に 定めなかったのか． 」

- She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
- Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
- The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
- Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
- Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

- 女が， 「主よ， だれも 」と 言うと， イエス は 言われた． 「わたしもあなたを 罪に 定めない． 行きなさい． これからは， もう 罪を 犯してはならない． 」〕
- イエス は 再び 言われた． 「わたしは 世の 光である． わたしに 從う 者は 暗闇の 中を 步かず， 命の 光を 持つ． 」
- それで， ファリサイ 派の 人¿が 言った． 「あなたは 自分について 證しをしている． その 證しは 眞實ではない． 」
- イエス は 答えて 言われた． 「たとえわたしが 自分について 證しをするとしても， その 證しは 眞實である． 自分がどこから 來たのか， そしてどこへ 行くのか， わたしは 知っているからだ． しかし， あなたたちは， わたしがどこから 來てどこへ 行くのか， 知らない．
- あなたたちは 肉に 從って 裁くが， わたしはだれをも 裁かない．

- And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
- It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
- I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
- Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
- These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

- しかし， もしわたしが 裁くとすれば， わたしの 裁きは 眞實である． なぜならわたしはひとりではなく， わたしをお 遣わしになった 父と 共にいるからである．
- あなたたちの 律法には， 二人が 行う 證しは 眞實であると 書いてある．
- わたしは 自分について 證しをしており， わたしをお 遣わしになった 父もわたしについて 證しをしてくださる． 」
- 彼らが「あなたの 父はどこにいるのか 」と 言うと， イエス はお 答えになった． 「あなたたちは， わたしもわたしの 父も 知らない． もし， わたしを 知っていたら， わたしの 父をも 知るはずだ． 」
- イエス は 神殿の 境內で 敎えておられたとき， 寶物殿の 近くでこれらのことを 話された． しかし， だれも イエス を 捕らえなかった． イエス の 時がまだ 來ていなかったからである．
