사무엘하 20:1-21:22

 다윗의 환궁 문제를 둘러싼 유다와 이스라엘간의 분쟁으로 세바의 반란이 일어났고, 이를 이용해 요압은 자신의 정적인 아마사를 살해하였다. 사울의 기브온 양민 학살 사건에 대한 심판으로 3년 간 기근이 있자, 다윗은 기브온 사람들의 원한을 갚아 속죄하도록 하였다. 블레셋과의 전쟁에서 다윗의 용사들은 승리를 거두었다.
  
  세바의 반란(20:1-20:26)    
 
  1. And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
  2. So every man of Israel went up from after David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
  3. And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death, living in widowhood.
  4. Then said the king to Amasa, Assemble me the men of Judah within three days, and be thou here present.
  5. So Amasa went to assemble the men of Judah: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.
  1. そこに ベニヤミン 人 ビクリ の 息子で シェバ という 名のならず 者が 居合わせた． 彼は 角笛を 吹き 鳴らして 言った． 「我¿には ダビデ と 分け 合うものはない． エッサイ の 子と 共にする 嗣業はない． イスラエル よ， 自分の 天幕に 歸れ． 」
  2. イスラエル の 人¿は 皆 ダビデ を 離れ， ビクリ の 息子 シェバ に 從った． しかし， ユダ の 人¿は ヨルダン 川から エルサレム まで 彼らの 王につき 從った．
  3. ダビデ は エルサレム の 王宮に 戾ると， 家を 守るために 殘した 十人の 側女を 集め， 監視付きの 家に 入れた． 彼は 側女たちの 面倒は 見たが， 彼女たちのところに 入ることはなかった． 彼女たちは 死ぬまで 閉じ ¿められ， やもめのような 生涯を 送った．
  4. 王は アマサ に 命じた． 「ユダ の 人¿を 三日のうちに 動員してここに 來なさい． 」
  5. アマサ は ユダ の 人¿を 動員するために 出て 行ったが， 定められた 期日に 戾らなかった．
  1. And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lord's servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.
  2. And there went out after him Joab's men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
  3. When they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab's garment that he had put on was girded unto him, and upon it a girdle with a sword fastened upon his loins in the sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.
  4. And Joab said to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.
  5. But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab's hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
  1. ダビデ は アビシャイ に 言った． 「我¿にとって ビクリ の 子 シェバ は アブサロム 以上に 危險だ． シェバ が 砦の 町¿を 見つけて 我¿の 目から 隱れることがないように， お 前は 主君の 家臣を 率いて 彼を 追跡しなさい． 」
  2. ヨアブ の 兵， クレタ 人と ペレティ 人， および 勇士の 全員が 彼に 從って エルサレム を 出發し， ビクリ の 息子 シェバ を 追跡した．
  3. 彼らが ギブオン の 大石のところにさしかかったとき， アマサ が 彼らの 前に 現れた． ヨアブ は 武裝して， さやに 納めた 劍を 腰に 帶びていたが， ヨアブ が 前に 出ると， 劍が 拔けた．
  4. ヨアブ は アマサ に， 「兄弟， 無事か 」と 聲をかけ， 口づけしようと 右手で アマサ のひげをつかんだ．
  5. アマサ は ヨアブ の 手にある 劍に 氣づかなかった． ヨアブ は 劍で アマサ の 下腹を 突き 刺した． はらわたが 地に 流れ 出て， 二度突くまでもなく アマサ は 死んだ． ヨアブ と 弟 アビシャイ は ビクリ の 息子 シェバ の 追跡を 續けた．
  1. And one of Joab's men stood by him, and said, He that favoureth Joab, and he that is for David, let him go after Joab.
  2. And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.
  3. When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
  4. And he went through all the tribes of Israel unto Abel, and to Bethmaachah, and all the Berites: and they were gathered together, and went also after him.
  5. And they came and besieged him in Abel of Bethmaachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that were with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
  1. ヨアブ の 從者の 一人が 傍らに 立って 言った． 「ヨアブ を 愛する 者， ダビデ に 味方する 者は ヨアブ に 續け． 」
  2. だが， アマサ が 道の 眞ん 中に 血にまみれて 轉がっていたので， 兵士たちは 皆立ち 止まった． この 男はそれを 見て アマサ を 道から 畑に 移し， そこまで 來た 者がそれを 見て 立ち 止まることのないように， その 上に 衣をかぶせた．
  3. アマサ が 道から 除かれると， 兵は 皆， ヨアブ の 後について ビクリ の 息子 シェバ を 追跡した．
  4. シェバ は イスラエル の 全部族を 通って 行って， ベト · マアカ の アベル まで 來ていた． 選び 拔かれた 兵が 寄り 集まり 彼に 從った．
  5. ヨアブ に 從う 兵士全員が ベト · マアカ の アベル に 到着し シェバ を 包圍した． 町に 向けて 外壁の 高さほどの 壘を 築き， 城壁を 崩そうと 試みていると，
  1. Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, unto Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.
  2. And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.
  3. Then she spake, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They shall surely ask counsel at Abel: and so they ended the matter.
  4. I am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?
  5. And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.
  1. 知惠のある 女が 町から 呼ばわった． 「聞いてください． 聞いてください． 『ここに 近寄ってください． 申し 上げたいことがあります 』と ヨアブ さまに 傳えてください． 」
  2. ヨアブ が 近寄ると 女は 言った． 「あなたが ヨアブ さまですか． 」「そうだ 」と 彼は 答えた． 彼女は 言った． 「はしための 言葉を 聞いてください． 」「聞こう 」と ヨアブ が 答えると，
  3. 女は 言った． 「昔から， 『アベル で 尋ねよ 』と 言えば， 事は 片づいたのです．
  4. わたしは イスラエル の 中で 平和を 望む 忠實な 者の 一人です． あなたは イスラエル の 母なる 町を 滅ぼそうとしておられます． 何故， あなたは 主の 嗣業を 呑み 盡くそうとなさるのですか． 」
  5. ヨアブ は 答えた． 「決してそのようなことはない． 呑み 盡くしたり， 滅ぼしたりすることなど 考えてもいない．
  1. The matter is not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, even against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.
  2. Then the woman went unto all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast it out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem unto the king.
  3. Now Joab was over all the host of Israel: and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites:
  4. And Adoram was over the tribute: and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder:
  5. And Sheva was scribe: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:
  1. そうではない． エフライム 山地の 出身で， 名を ビクリ の 子 シェバ という 者が ダビデ 王に 向かって 手を 上げたのだ． その 男一人を 渡してくれれば， この 町から 引き 揚げよう． 」女は ヨアブ に 言った． 「その 男の 首を 城壁の 上からあなたのもとへ 投げ 落とします． 」
  2. 女は 知惠を 用いてすべての 民のもとに 行き， ビクリ の 子 シェバ の 首を 切り 落とさせ， ヨアブ に 向けてそれを 投げ 落とした． ヨアブ は 角笛を 吹き 鳴らし， 兵はこの 町からそれぞれの 天幕に 散って 行った． ヨアブ は エルサレム の 王のもとへ 戾った．
  3. ヨアブ は イスラエル 全軍の 司令官． ヨヤダ の 子 ベナヤ は クレタ 人と ペレティ 人の 監督官．
  4. アドラム は 勞役の 監督官． アヒルド の 子 ヨシャファト は 補佐官．
  5. シェワ は 書記官． ツァドク と アビアタル は 祭司．
  1. And Ira also the Jairite was a chief ruler about David.

  기브온 사람들의 원한(21:1-21:22)    
 
  1. Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
  2. And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
  3. Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
  4. And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
  5. And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
  1. ダビデ の 世に， 三年續いて 飢鴨が 襲った． ダビデ は 主に 託宣を 求めた． 主は 言われた． 「ギブオン 人を 殺害し， 血を 流した サウル とその 家に 責任がある． 」
  2. 王は ギブオン 人を 招いて 言った． ―― ギブオン 人は アモリ 人の 生き 殘りで， イスラエル の 人¿に 屬する 者ではないが， イスラエル の 人¿は 彼らと 誓約を 交わしていた． ところが サウル は， イスラエル と ユダ の 人¿への 熱情の 余り， ギブオン 人を 討とうとしたことがあった．
  3. ダビデ は ギブオン 人に 言った． 「あなたたちに 何をしたらよいのだろう． どのように 償えば 主の 嗣業を 祝福してもらえるだろうか． 」
  4. ギブオン 人は ダビデ に 答えた． 「サウル とその 家のことで 問題なのは 金銀ではありません． イスラエル の 人¿をだれかれなく 殺すというのでもありません． 」 ダビデ は 言った． 「言ってくれれば 何でもそのとおりにしよう． 」
  5. 彼らは 王に 答えた． 「わたしたちを 滅ぼし 盡くし， わたしたちが イスラエル の 領土のどこにも 定着できないように 滅亡を 謀った 男，
  1. Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them.
  2. But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
  3. But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
  4. And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.
  5. And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
  1. あの 男の 子孫の 中から 七人をわたしたちに 渡してください． わたしたちは 主がお 選びになった 者 サウル の 町 ギブア で， 主の 御前に 彼らをさらし 者にします． 」王は， 「引き 渡そう 」と 言った．
  2. しかし， 王は サウル の 子 ヨナタン の 息子 メフィボシェト を 惜しんだ． ダビデ と サウル の 子 ヨナタン との 間には 主をさして 立てた 誓いがあったからである．
  3. 王は アヤ の 娘 リツパ と サウル の 間に 生まれた 二人の 息子， アルモニ と メフィボシェト と， サウル の 娘 ミカル と メホラ 人 バルジライ の 子 アドリエル との 間に 生まれた 五人の 息子を 捕らえ，
  4. ギブオン 人の 手に 渡した． ギブオン の 人¿は 彼らを 山で 主の 御前にさらした． 七人は 一度に 處刑された． 彼らが 殺されたのは 刈り 入れの 初め， 大麥の 收穫が 始まるころであった．
  5. アヤ の 娘 リツパ は 粗布を 取って 岩の 上に 廣げた． 收穫の 初めのころから， 死者たちに 雨が 天から 降り 注ぐころまで， リツパ は ¿は 空の 鳥が 死者の 上にとまることを， 夜は 野の ¿が 襲うことを 防いだ．
  1. And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
  2. And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabeshgilead, which had stolen them from the street of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
  3. And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
  4. And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
  5. Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
  1. サウル の 側女， アヤ の 子 リツパ のこの 行いは 王に 報告された．
  2. ダビデ は ギレアド の ヤベシュ の 人¿のところへ 行って， サウル の 骨とその 子 ヨナタン の 骨を 受け 取った． その 遺骨は ギレアド の ヤベシュ の 人¿が ベト · シャン の 廣場から 奪い 取って 來たもので， ペリシテ 人が ギルボア で サウル を 討った 日に， そこにさらしたものであった．
  3. ダビデ はそこから サウル の 骨とその 子 ヨナタン の 骨を 運び， 人¿は 今回さらされた 者たちの 骨を 集め，
  4. サウル とその 子 ヨナタン の 骨と 共に ベニヤミン の 地 ツェラ にある サウル の 父 キシュ の 墓に 葬った． 人¿は 王の 命令をすべて 果たした． この 後， 神はこの 國の 祈りにこたえられた．
  5. ペリシテ 人は 再び イスラエル と 戰った． ダビデ は 家臣を 率いて 出陣し， ペリシテ と 戰ったが， ダビデ は 疲れていた．
  1. And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.
  2. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.
  3. And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.
  4. And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
  5. And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
  1. ラファ の 子孫の 一人 イシュビ · ベノブ は， 三百 シェケル の 重さの 靑銅の 槍を 持ち， 新しい 帶を 付けて， ダビデ を 討つ， と 言った．
  2. しかし， ツェルヤ の 子 アビシャイ は， ダビデ を 助けてこの ペリシテ 人を 打ち 殺した． それ 以來， ダビデ の 家來たちは ダビデ に 誓わせた． 「以後， 我¿と 共に 戰いに 出てはなりません． イスラエル の 燈を 消さぬよう 心掛けてください． 」
  3. その 後， ゴブ の 地で， 再び ペリシテ 人との 戰いがあった． このときは， フシャ 人 シベカイ が ラファ の 子孫の 一人 サフ を 打ち 殺した．
  4. ゴブ で， また ペリシテ 人との 戰いがあったとき， ベツレヘム 出身の ヤアレ · オルギム の 子 エルハナン が， ガト 人 ゴリアト を 打ち 殺した． ゴリアト の 槍の 柄は 機織りの 卷き 棒ほどもあった．
  5. 別の 戰いが ガト でもあった． ラファ の 子孫で， 手足の 指が 六本ずつ， 合わせて 二十四本ある 巨人が 出て 來て，
  1. And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah the brother of David slew him.
  2. These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
  1. イスラエル を 辱めたが， ダビデ の 兄弟 シムア の 子 ヨナタン が 彼を 討ち 取った．
  2. これら 四人は ガト にいた ラファ の 子孫で， ダビデ とその 家臣の 手によって 倒された．
