- This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
- This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
- To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
- Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
- And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

- この モ ― セ がまた， イスラエル の 子らにこう 言いました． 『神は， あなたがたの 兄弟の 中から， わたしのような 預言者をあなたがたのために 立てられる． 』
- この 人が 荒れ 野の 集會において， シナイ 山で 彼に 語りかけた 天使とわたしたちの 先祖との 間に 立って， 命の 言葉を 受け， わたしたちに 傳えてくれたのです．
- けれども， 先祖たちはこの 人に 從おうとせず， 彼を 退け， エジプト をなつかしく 思い，
- アロン に 言いました． 『わたしたちの 先に 立って 導いてくれる 神¿を 造ってください． エジプト の 地から 導き 出してくれたあの モ ― セ の 身の 上に， 何が 起こったのか 分からないからです． 』
- 彼らが 若い 雄牛の 像を 造ったのはそのころで， この 偶像にいけにえを 獻げ， 自分たちの 手で 造ったものをまつって 樂しんでいました．

- Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?
- Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
- Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
- Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;
- Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

- そこで 神は 顔を 背け， 彼らが 天の 星を 拜むままにしておかれました． それは 預言者の 書にこう 書いてあるとおりです． 『イスラエル の 家よ， ／お 前たちは 荒れ 野にいた 四十年の 間， ／わたしにいけにえと 供え 物を ／獻げたことがあったか．
- お 前たちは 拜むために 造った 偶像， ／ モレク の 御輿やお 前たちの 神 ライファン の 星を ／擔ぎ 回ったのだ． だから， わたしはお 前たちを ／ バビロン のかなたへ 移住させる． 』
- わたしたちの 先祖には， 荒れ 野に 證しの 幕屋がありました． これは， 見たままの 形に 造るようにと モ ― セ に 言われた 方のお 命じになったとおりのものでした．
- この 幕屋は， それを 受け 繼いだ 先祖たちが， ヨシュア に 導かれ， 目の 前から 神が 追い 拂ってくださった 異邦人の 土地を 占領するとき， 運び ¿んだもので， ダビデ の 時代までそこにありました．
- ダビデ は 神の 御心に 適い， ヤコブ の 家のために 神の 住まいが 欲しいと 願っていましたが，

- But Solomon built him an house.
- Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
- Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
- Hath not my hand made all these things?
- Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

- 神のために 家を 建てたのは ソロモン でした．
- けれども， いと 高き 方は 人の 手で 造ったようなものにはお 住みになりません． これは， 預言者も 言っているとおりです．
- 『主は 言われる． 「天はわたしの 王座， ／地はわたしの 足台． お 前たちは， わたしに ／どんな 家を 建ててくれると 言うのか． わたしの 憩う 場所はどこにあるのか．
- これらはすべて， ／わたしの 手が 造ったものではないか． 」』
- かたくなで， 心と 耳に 割禮を 受けていない 人たち， あなたがたは， いつも 聖靈に 逆らっています． あなたがたの 先祖が 逆らったように， あなたがたもそうしているのです．

- Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
- Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
- When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
- But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
- And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

- いったい， あなたがたの 先祖が 迫害しなかった 預言者が， 一人でもいたでしょうか． 彼らは， 正しい 方が 來られることを 預言した 人¿を 殺しました． そして 今や， あなたがたがその 方を 裏切る 者， 殺す 者となった．
- 天使たちを 通して 律法を 受けた 者なのに， それを 守りませんでした． 」
- 人¿はこれを 聞いて 激しく 怒り， ステファノ に 向かって 齒ぎしりした．
- ステファノ は 聖靈に 滿たされ， 天を 見つめ， 神の 榮光と 神の 右に 立っておられる イエス とを 見て，
- 「天が 開いて， 人の 子が 神の 右に 立っておられるのが 見える 」と 言った．

- Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
- And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.
- And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
- And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

- 人¿は 大聲で 叫びながら 耳を 手でふさぎ， ステファノ 目がけて 一齊に 襲いかかり，
- 都の 外に 引きずり 出して 石を 投げ 始めた． 證人たちは， 自分の 着ている 物を サウロ という 若者の 足もとに 置いた．
- 人¿が 石を 投げつけている 間， ステファノ は 主に 呼びかけて， 「主 イエス よ， わたしの 靈をお 受けください 」と 言った．
- それから， ひざまずいて， 「主よ， この 罪を 彼らに 負わせないでください 」と 大聲で 叫んだ． ステファノ はこう 言って， 眠りについた．
