- Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
- Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
- Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
- The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
- Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

- そちらから 書いてよこしたことについて 言えば， 男は 女に 觸れない 方がよい．
- しかし， みだらな 行いを 避けるために， 男はめいめい 自分の 妻を 持ち， また， 女はめいめい 自分の 夫を 持ちなさい．
- 夫は 妻に， その 務めを 果たし， 同樣に 妻も 夫にその 務めを 果たしなさい．
- 妻は 自分の 體を 意のままにする 權利を 持たず， 夫がそれを 持っています． 同じように， 夫も 自分の 體を 意のままにする 權利を 持たず， 妻がそれを 持っているのです．
- 互いに 相手を 拒んではいけません． ただ， 納得しあったうえで， 專ら 祈りに 時を 過ごすためにしばらく 別れ， また 一緖になるというなら 話は 別です． あなたがたが 自分を 抑制する 力がないのに 乘じて， サタン が 誘惑しないともかぎらないからです．

- But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
- For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
- I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
- But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
- And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

- もっとも， わたしは， そうしても 差し 支えないと 言うのであって， そうしなさい， と 命じるつもりはありません．
- わたしとしては， 皆がわたしのように 獨りでいてほしい． しかし， 人はそれぞれ 神から 賜物をいただいているのですから， 人によって 生き 方が 違います．
- 未婚者とやもめに 言いますが， 皆わたしのように 獨りでいるのがよいでしょう．
- しかし， 自分を 抑制できなければ 結婚しなさい． 情欲に 身を 焦がすよりは， 結婚した 方がましだからです．
- 更に， 旣婚者に 命じます． 妻は 夫と 別れてはいけない． こう 命じるのは， わたしではなく， 主です．

- But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
- But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
- And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
- For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
- But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

- ――旣に 別れてしまったのなら， 再婚せずにいるか， 夫のもとに 歸りなさい． ――また， 夫は 妻を 離緣してはいけない．
- その 他の 人たちに 對しては， 主ではなくわたしが 言うのですが， ある 信者に 信者でない 妻がいて， その 妻が 一緖に 生活を 續けたいと 思っている 場合， 彼女を 離緣してはいけない．
- また， ある 女に 信者でない 夫がいて， その 夫が 一緖に 生活を 續けたいと 思っている 場合， 彼を 離緣してはいけない．
- なぜなら， 信者でない 夫は， 信者である 妻のゆえに 聖なる 者とされ， 信者でない 妻は， 信者である 夫のゆえに 聖なる 者とされているからです． そうでなければ， あなたがたの 子供たちは 汚れていることになりますが， 實際には 聖なる 者です．
- しかし， 信者でない 相手が 離れていくなら， 去るにまかせなさい． こうした 場合に 信者は， 夫であろうと 妻であろうと， 結婚に 縛られてはいません． 平和な 生活を 送るようにと， 神はあなたがたを 召されたのです．

- For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
- But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.
- Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
- Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
- Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

- 妻よ， あなたは 夫を 救えるかどうか， どうして 分かるのか． 夫よ， あなたは 妻を 救えるかどうか， どうして 分かるのか．
- おのおの 主から 分け 與えられた 分に 應じ， それぞれ 神に 召されたときの 身分のままで 步みなさい． これは， すべての 敎會でわたしが 命じていることです．
- 割禮を 受けている 者が 召されたのなら， 割禮の 跡を 無くそうとしてはいけません． 割禮を 受けていない 者が 召されたのなら， 割禮を 受けようとしてはいけません．
- 割禮の 有無は 問題ではなく， 大切なのは 神の ¿を 守ることです．
- おのおの 召されたときの 身分にとどまっていなさい．

- Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.
- For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.
- Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
- Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

- 召されたときに 奴隷であった 人も， そのことを 氣にしてはいけません． 自由の 身になることができるとしても， むしろそのままでいなさい．
- というのは， 主によって 召された 奴隷は， 主によって 自由の 身にされた 者だからです． 同樣に， 主によって 召された 自由な 身分の 者は， キリスト の 奴隷なのです．
- あなたがたは， 身代金を 拂って 買い 取られたのです． 人の 奴隷となってはいけません．
- 兄弟たち， おのおの 召されたときの 身分のまま， 神の 前にとどまっていなさい．
