- Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
- I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
- The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
- For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
- Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

- わたしの 愛する 人たち， こういうわけですから， 偶像禮拜を 避けなさい．
- わたしはあなたがたを 分別ある 者と 考えて 話します． わたしの 言うことを 自分で 判斷しなさい．
- わたしたちが 神を 贊美する 贊美の 杯は， キリスト の 血にあずかることではないか． わたしたちが 裂く パン は， キリスト の 體にあずかることではないか．
- パン は 一つだから， わたしたちは 大勢でも 一つの 體です． 皆が 一つの パン を 分けて 食べるからです．
- 肉による イスラエル の 人¿のことを 考えてみなさい． 供え 物を 食べる 人は， それが 供えてあった 祭壇とかかわる 者になるのではありませんか．

- What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
- But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
- Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
- Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
- All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

- わたしは 何を 言おうとしているのか． 偶像に 供えられた 肉が 何か 意味を 持つということでしょうか． それとも， 偶像が 何か 意味を 持つということでしょうか．
- いや， わたしが 言おうとしているのは， 偶像に 獻げる 供え 物は， 神ではなく 惡靈に 獻げている， という 点なのです． わたしは， あなたがたに 惡靈の 仲間になってほしくありません．
- 主の 杯と 惡靈の 杯の 兩方を 飮むことはできないし， 主の 食卓と 惡靈の 食卓の 兩方に 着くことはできません．
- それとも， 主にねたみを 起こさせるつもりなのですか． わたしたちは， 主より 强い 者でしょうか．
- 「すべてのことが 許されている． 」しかし， すべてのことが 益になるわけではない． 「すべてのことが 許されている． 」しかし， すべてのことがわたしたちを 造り 上げるわけではない．

- Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
- Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
- For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.
- If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
- But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:

- だれでも， 自分の 利益ではなく 他人の 利益を 追い 求めなさい．
- 市場で 賣っているものは， 良心の 問題としていちいち 詮索せず， 何でも 食べなさい．
- 「地とそこに 滿ちているものは， 主のもの 」だからです．
- あなたがたが， 信仰を 持っていない 人から 招待され， それに 應じる 場合， 自分の 前に 出されるものは， 良心の 問題としていちいち 詮索せず， 何でも 食べなさい．
- しかし， もしだれかがあなたがたに， 「これは 偶像に 供えられた 肉です 」と 言うなら， その 人のため， また， 良心のために 食べてはいけません．

- Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?
- For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
- Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
- Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
- Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

- わたしがこの 場合， 「良心 」と 言うのは， 自分の 良心ではなく， そのように 言う 他人の 良心のことです． どうしてわたしの 自由が， 他人の 良心によって 左右されることがありましょう．
- わたしが 感謝して 食べているのに， そのわたしが 感謝しているものについて， なぜ 惡口を 言われるわけがあるのです．
- だから， あなたがたは 食べるにしろ 飮むにしろ， 何をするにしても， すべて 神の 榮光を 現すためにしなさい．
- ユダヤ 人にも， ギリシア 人にも， 神の 敎會にも， あなたがたは 人を 惑わす 原因にならないようにしなさい．
- わたしも， 人¿を 救うために， 自分の 益ではなく 多くの 人の 益を 求めて， すべての 点ですべての 人を 喜ばそうとしているのですから．
