- Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
- Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
- Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
- And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
- Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

- わたしたちは， またもや 自分を 推薦し 始めているのでしょうか． それとも， ある 人¿のように， あなたがたへの 推薦狀， あるいはあなたがたからの 推薦狀が， わたしたちに 必要なのでしょうか．
- わたしたちの 推薦狀は， あなたがた 自身です． それは， わたしたちの 心に 書かれており， すべての 人¿から 知られ， 讀まれています．
- あなたがたは， キリスト がわたしたちを 用いてお 書きになった 手紙として 公にされています． 墨ではなく 生ける 神の 靈によって， 石の 板ではなく 人の 心の 板に， 書きつけられた 手紙です．
- わたしたちは， キリスト によってこのような 確信を 神の 前で 抱いています．
- もちろん， 獨りで 何かできるなどと 思う 資格が， 自分にあるということではありません． わたしたちの 資格は 神から 與えられたものです．

- Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
- But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
- How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
- For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
- For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.

- 神はわたしたちに， 新しい 契約に 仕える 資格， 文字ではなく 靈に 仕える 資格を 與えてくださいました． 文字は 殺しますが， 靈は 生かします．
- ところで， 石に 刻まれた 文字に 基づいて 死に 仕える 務めさえ 榮光を 帶びて， モ ― セ の 顔に 輝いていたつかのまの 榮光のために， イスラエル の 子らが 彼の 顔を 見つめえないほどであったとすれば，
- 靈に 仕える 務めは， なおさら， 榮光を 帶びているはずではありませんか．
- 人を 罪に 定める 務めが 榮光をまとっていたとすれば， 人を 義とする 務めは， なおさら， 榮光に 滿ちあふれています．
- そして， かつて 榮光を 與えられたものも， この 場合， はるかに 優れた 榮光のために， 榮光が 失われています．

- For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
- Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
- And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
- But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
- But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

- なぜなら， 消え 去るべきものが 榮光を 帶びていたのなら， 永續するものは， なおさら， 榮光に 包まれているはずだからです．
- このような 希望を 抱いているので， わたしたちは 確信に 滿ちあふれてふるまっており，
- モ ― セ が， 消え 去るべきものの 最後を イスラエル の 子らに 見られまいとして， 自分の 顔に 覆いを 掛けたようなことはしません．
- しかし， 彼らの 考えは 鈍くなってしまいました． 今日に 至るまで， 古い 契約が 讀まれる 際に， この 覆いは 除かれずに 掛かったままなのです． それは キリスト において 取り 除かれるものだからです．
- このため， 今日に 至るまで モ ― セ の 書が 讀まれるときは， いつでも 彼らの 心には 覆いが 掛かっています．

- Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
- Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
- But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.

- しかし， 主の 方に 向き 直れば， 覆いは 取り 去られます．
- ここでいう 主とは， “靈 ＂のことですが， 主の 靈のおられるところに 自由があります．
- わたしたちは 皆， 顔の 覆いを 除かれて， 鏡のように 主の 榮光を 映し 出しながら， 榮光から 榮光へと， 主と 同じ 姿に 造りかえられていきます． これは 主の 靈の ¿きによることです．
