- And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
- Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
- Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
- But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
- Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

- さて， あなたがたは， 以前は 自分の 過ちと 罪のために 死んでいたのです．
- この 世を 支配する 者， かの 空中に 勢力を 持つ 者， すなわち， 不從順な 者たちの 內に 今も ¿く 靈に 從い， 過ちと 罪を 犯して 步んでいました．
- わたしたちも 皆， こういう 者たちの 中にいて， 以前は 肉の 欲望の 赴くままに 生活し， 肉や 心の 欲するままに 行動していたのであり， ほかの 人¿と 同じように， 生まれながら 神の 怒りを 受けるべき 者でした．
- しかし， 憐れみ 豊かな 神は， わたしたちをこの 上なく 愛してくださり， その 愛によって，
- 罪のために 死んでいたわたしたちを キリスト と 共に 生かし， ――あなたがたの 救われたのは 惠みによるのです ――

- And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
- That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
- For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
- Not of works, lest any man should boast.
- For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

- キリスト · イエス によって 共に 復活させ， 共に 天の 王座に 着かせてくださいました．
- こうして， 神は， キリスト · イエス においてわたしたちにお 示しになった 慈しみにより， その 限りなく 豊かな 惠みを， 來るべき 世に 現そうとされたのです．
- 事實， あなたがたは， 惠みにより， 信仰によって 救われました． このことは， 自らの 力によるのではなく， 神の 賜物です．
- 行いによるのではありません． それは， だれも 誇ることがないためなのです．
- なぜなら， わたしたちは 神に 造られたものであり， しかも， 神が 前もって 準備してくださった 善い 業のために， キリスト · イエス において 造られたからです． わたしたちは， その 善い 業を 行って 步むのです．

- Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
- That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
- But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
- For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
- Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

- だから， 心に 留めておきなさい． あなたがたは 以前には 肉によれば 異邦人であり， いわゆる 手による 割禮を 身に 受けている 人¿からは， 割禮のない 者と 呼ばれていました．
- また， そのころは， キリスト とかかわりなく， イスラエル の 民に 屬さず， 約束を 含む 契約と 關係なく， この 世の 中で 希望を 持たず， 神を 知らずに 生きていました．
- しかしあなたがたは， 以前は 遠く 離れていたが， 今や， キリスト · イエス において， キリスト の 血によって 近い 者となったのです．
- 實に， キリスト はわたしたちの 平和であります． 二つのものを 一つにし， 御自分の 肉において 敵意という 隔ての 壁を 取り 壞し，
- 規則と 戒律ずくめの 律法を 廢棄されました． こうして キリスト は， 雙方を 御自分において 一人の 新しい 人に 造り 上げて 平和を 實現し，

- And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
- And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
- For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
- Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
- And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

- 十字架を 通して， 兩者を 一つの 體として 神と 和解させ， 十字架によって 敵意を 滅ぼされました．
- キリスト はおいでになり， 遠く 離れているあなたがたにも， また， 近くにいる 人¿にも， 平和の 福音を 告げ 知らせられました．

- 從って， あなたがたはもはや， 外國人でも 寄留者でもなく， 聖なる 民に 屬する 者， 神の 家族であり，
- 使徒や 預言者という 土台の 上に 建てられています． そのかなめ 石は キリスト · イエス 御自身であり，

- In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
- In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

- キリスト において， この 建物全體は 組み 合わされて 成長し， 主における 聖なる 神殿となります．
- キリスト において， あなたがたも 共に 建てられ， 靈の ¿きによって 神の 住まいとなるのです．
