- I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
- For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
- For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
- Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
- For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

- そこで， まず 第一に 勸めます． 願いと 祈りと 執り 成しと 感謝とをすべての 人¿のためにささげなさい．
- 王たちやすべての 高官のためにもささげなさい． わたしたちが 常に 信心と 品位を 保ち， 平穩で 落ち 着いた 生活を 送るためです．
- これは， わたしたちの 救い 主である 神の 御前に 良いことであり， 喜ばれることです．
- 神は， すべての 人¿が 救われて 眞理を 知るようになることを 望んでおられます．
- 神は 唯一であり， 神と 人との 間の 仲介者も， 人である キリスト · イエス ただおひとりなのです．

- この 方はすべての 人の ·いとして 御自身を 獻げられました． これは 定められた 時になされた 證しです．
- わたしは， その 證しのために 宣敎者また 使徒として， すなわち 異邦人に 信仰と 眞理を 說く 敎師として 任命されたのです． わたしは 眞實を 語っており， 僞りは 言っていません．
- だから， わたしが 望むのは， 男は 怒らず 爭わず， 淸い 手を 上げてどこででも 祈ることです．
