- A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
- For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
- To call passengers who go right on their ways:
- Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
- Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

- 愚かさという 女がいる． ¿¿しい 女だ． 淺はかさともいう． 何ひとつ 知らない．
- 自分の 家の 門口に 座り ¿んだり ／町の 高い 所に 席を 構えたりして
- 道行く 人に 呼びかける ／自分の 道をまっすぐ 急ぐ 人¿に．
- 「淺はかな 者はだれでも 立ち 寄るがよい． 」意志の 弱い 者にはこう 言う．
- 「盜んだ 水は 甘く ／隱れて 食べる パン はうまいものだ． 」
