	예레미야 35:1-36:32 하나님께서는 레갑 족속이 선조의 명령을 온전히 순종함을 칭찬하시면서 하나님께 불순종하는 유다 백성들의 죄를 책망하셨다. 바룩은 예레미야가 경고한 유다의 죄를 두루마리에 기록하여 왕과 백성들에게 읽어 주었지만, 여호야김 왕은 이 두루마리를 불에 태웠다. 이에 하나님께서 왕과 그 신하들에게 심판을 선포하셨고 바룩에게 그 말씀을 다시 기록하도록 하셨다.

	레갑 족속의 순종(35:1-35:19)

The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.

Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;

And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:

And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.

ユダの王，ヨシヤの子ヨヤキムの時代に，主からエレミヤに臨んだ言葉．

「レカブ人一族のところへ行って，主の神殿の一室に來るように言い，彼らにぶどう酒を飮ませなさい．」

そこで，わたしは，ハバツィンヤの孫であり，イルメヤの子であるヤアザンヤとその兄弟，その子ら，つまりレカブ人の一族全員を連れて，

主の神殿にある，神の人イグダルヤの子ハナンの弟子たちがいる部屋へ行った．この部屋は，貴族の部屋の隣にあって，門衛，シャルムの子マアセヤの部屋の上に當たる．

そこで，わたしはレカブ人一族の前にぶどう酒を滿たした壺と杯を出し，彼らに，「ぶどう酒を飮んでください」と言った．

But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:

Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.

Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;

Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:

But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

すると，彼らは答えた．「我¿はぶどう酒を飮みません．父祖レカブの子ヨナダブが，子¿孫¿に至るまでぶどう酒を飮んではならない，と命じたからです．

また，家を建てるな，種を蒔くな，ぶどう園を作るな，また，それらを所有せず，生涯天幕に住むように．そうすれば，お前たちが滯在する土地で長く生きることができる，と言いました．

我¿の先祖である，レカブの子ヨナダブの命じたすべてのことに聞き從ってきました．生涯，我¿も妻も，息子，娘たちもぶどう酒を飮まず，

住む家を建てず，ぶどう園，畑，種を所有せず，

天幕に住んでいます．我¿は父祖ヨナダブの命じたすべてのことに從って行ってきました．

But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.

Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.

The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.

I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

今は，バビロンの王ネブカドレツァルがこの國に攻め上って來たので，『エルサレムに行き，カルデア軍とアラム軍の攻擊を避けよう』と言って，エルサレムに滯在しているのです．」

そのとき，主の言葉がエレミヤに臨んだ．

「イスラエルの神，万軍の主はこう言われる．行って，ユダの人¿とエルサレムの住民に告げよ．お前たちはわたしの言葉に從えという戒めを受け入れないのか，と主は言われる．

レカブの子ヨナダブが一族の者たちに，ぶどう酒を飮むなと命じた言葉は守られ，彼らはこの父祖の命令に聞き從い，今日に至るまでぶどう酒を飮まずにいる．ところがお前たちは，わたしが繰り返し語り續けてきたのに聞き從おうとしなかった．

わたしは，お前たちにわたしの僕である預言者を，繰り返し遣わして命じた．『おのおの惡の道を離れて立ち歸り，行いを正せ．他の神¿に仕え從うな．そうすれば，わたしがお前たちと父祖に與えた國土にとどまることができる』と．しかし，お前たちは耳を傾けず，わたしに聞こうとしなかった．

Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:

Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.

And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:

Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

レカブの子ヨナダブの一族が，父祖の命じた命令を固く守っているというのに，この民はわたしに從おうとしない．

それゆえ，イスラエルの神，万軍の主はこう言われる．わたしは，ユダとエルサレムの全住民に對して予告したとおり，あらゆる災いを送る．わたしが語ったのに彼らは聞かず，わたしが呼びかけたのに答えなかったからである．」

また，レカブ人一族にエレミヤは言った．「イスラエルの神，万軍の主はこう言われる．あなたたちは，父祖ヨナダブの命令に聞き從い，命令をことごとく守り，命じられたとおりに行ってきた．

それゆえ，イスラエルの神，万軍の主はこう言われる．レカブの子ヨナダブの一族には，わたしの前に立って仕える者がいつまでも絶えることがない．」

	예언을 받아 쓴 바룩(36:1-36:32)

And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.

And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:

ユダの王，ヨシヤの子ヨヤキムの第四年に，次の言葉が主からエレミヤに臨んだ．

「卷物を取り，わたしがヨシヤの時代から今日に至るまで，イスラエルとユダ，および諸國について，あなたに語ってきた言葉を殘らず書き記しなさい．

ユダの家は，わたしがくだそうと考えているすべての災いを聞いて，それぞれ惡の道から立ち歸るかもしれない．そうすれば，わたしは彼らの罪と咎を赦す．」

エレミヤはネリヤの子バルクを呼び寄せた．バルクはエレミヤの口述に從って，主が語られた言葉をすべて卷物に書き記した．

エレミヤはバルクに命じた．「わたしは主の神殿に入ることを禁じられている．

Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD's house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.

And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD's house.

And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.

Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house, in the ears of all the people.

お前は斷食の日に行って，わたしが口述したとおりに書き記したこの卷物から主の言葉を讀み，神殿に集まった人¿に聞かせなさい．また，ユダの町¿から上って來るすべての人¿にも讀み聞かせなさい．

この民に向かって告げられた主の怒りと憤りが大きいことを知って，人¿が主に憐れみを乞い，それぞれ惡の道から立ち歸るかもしれない．」

そこで，ネリヤの子バルクは，預言者エレミヤが命じたとおり，卷物に記された主の言葉を主の神殿で讀んだ．

ユダの王，ヨシヤの子ヨヤキムの治世の第五年九月に，エルサレムの全市民およびユダの町¿からエルサレムに上って來るすべての人¿に，主の前で斷食をする布告が出された．

そのとき，バルクは主の神殿で卷物に記されたエレミヤの言葉を讀んだ．彼は書記官，シャファンの子ゲマルヤの部屋からすべての人¿に讀み聞かせたのであるが，それは主の神殿の上の前庭にあり，新しい門の入り口の傍らにあった．

When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the LORD,

Then he went down into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.

Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.

Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.

And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.

シャファンの孫でゲマルヤの子であるミカヤは，その卷物に記された主の言葉をすべて聞くと，

王宮にある書記官の部屋へ下って行った．そこには，役人たちが皆，席に着いていた．書記官エリシャマ，シェマヤの子デラヤ，アクボルの子エルナタン，シャファンの子ゲマルヤ，ハナンヤの子ツィドキヤをはじめすべての役人たちがいた．

ミカヤは，バルクが民の前で卷物を讀んだときに聞いた言葉を，すべて役人たちに傳えた．

役人たちは，ユディをバルクのもとに遣わして，「あなたが民に讀み聞かせたあの卷物を持って來るように」と言わせた．ユディの父はネタンヤ，祖父はシェレムヤ， ¿祖父はクシである．そこで，ネリヤの子バルクは，卷物を持って，彼らのところに來た．

彼らはバルクに言った．「座って，我¿にも卷物を讀んでください．」そこで，バルクは彼らに卷物を讀み聞かせた．

Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and other, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.

And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth?

Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.

Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye be.

And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king.

その言葉をすべて聞き終わると，彼らは皆，おののいて互いに顔を見合わせ，バルクに言った．「この言葉はすべて王に傳えねばならない．」

更にバルクに尋ねた．「どのようにして，このすべての言葉を書き記したのか敎えてください．彼の口述ですか．」

バルクは答えた．「エレミヤが自らわたしにこのすべての言葉を口述したので，わたしが卷物にインクで書き記したのです．」

そこで，役人たちはバルクに言った．「あなたとエレミヤは急いで身を隱しなさい．だれにも居どころを知られてはなりません．」

彼らは卷物を書記官エリシャマの部屋に納めて，宮廷にいる王のもとに赴き，その言葉をすべて王に傳えた．

So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe's chamber. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king.

Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him.

And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.

Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.

Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.

王はユディを遣わして，卷物を取って來させた．彼は書記官エリシャマの部屋から卷物を取って來て，王と王に仕えるすべての役人が聞いているところで讀み上げた．

王は宮殿の冬の家にいた．時は九月で暖爐の火は王の前で赤¿と燃えていた．

ユディが三，四欄讀み終わるごとに，王は卷物をナイフで切り裂いて暖爐の火にくべ，ついに，卷物をすべて燃やしてしまった．

このすべての言葉を聞きながら，王もその側近もだれひとり恐れを抱かず，衣服を裂こうともしなかった．

また，エルナタン，デラヤ，ゲマルヤの三人が卷物を燃やさないように懇願したが，王はこれに耳を貸さなかった．

But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the LORD hid them.

Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,

Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.

And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?

Therefore thus saith the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

かえって，王は，王子エラフメエル，アズリエルの子セラヤ，アブデエルの子シェレムヤに命じて，書記バルクと預言者エレミヤを捕らえようとした．しかし，主は二人を隱された．

バルクがエレミヤの口述に從ってこれらの言葉を書き記した卷物を王が燃やした後に，主の言葉がエレミヤに臨んだ．

「改めて，別の卷物を取れ．ユダの王ヨヤキムが燃やした初めの卷物に記されていたすべての言葉を，元どおりに書き記せ．

そして，ユダの王ヨヤキムに對して，あなたはこう言いなさい．主はこう言われる．お前はこの卷物を燃やしてしまった．お前はエレミヤを非難して，『なぜ，この卷物にバビロンの王が必ず來て，この國を滅ぼし，人も ¿も絶滅させると書いたのか』と言った．

それゆえ，主はユダの王ヨヤキムについてこう言われる．彼の子孫には，ダビデの王座につく者がなくなる．ヨヤキムの死體は投げ出されて， ¿は炎熱に，夜は霜にさらされる．

And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.

Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.

わたしは，王とその子孫と家來たちをその咎のゆえに罰する．彼らとエルサレムの住民およびユダの人¿に災いをくだす．この災いは，すべて旣に繰り返し告げたものであるが，彼らは聞こうとはしなかった．」

そこで，エレミヤは別の卷物を取って，書記ネリヤの子バルクに渡した．バルクは，ユダの王ヨヤキムが火に投じた卷物に記されていたすべての言葉を，エレミヤの口述に從って書き記した．また，同じような言葉を數多く加えた．
