- A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
- A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
- He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
- The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
- A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

- 口の 言葉が 結ぶ 實によって ／人は 良いものを 享受する． 欺く 者の 欲望は 不法に 向かう．
- 自分の 口を 警戒する 者は 命を 守る． いたずらに 唇を 開く 者は 滅びる．
- 怠け 者は 欲望をもっても 何も 得られず ／勤勉な 人は 望めば 豊かに 滿たされる．
- 神に 從う 人は 僞りの 言葉を 憎む． 神に 逆らう 者は 惡臭を 放ち， 辱められる．
