예레미야애가

  본서는 유다가 바벨론에 의해 멸망하고 백성들은 포로로 잡혀 간 암울한 상황을 슬퍼하는 노래이다. 다섯 편의 시로 구성되어 있는 본서는 각 장이 독립적으로 하나의 시를 이루고 있다. 예레미야는 예루살렘의 멸망을 보고 슬퍼하며, 하나님의 공의로우신 심판으로 말미암아 예루살렘이 황폐화되었음을 묘사하고 있다. 그리고 백성들에게 하나님께 희망을 둘 것을 상기시키고, 하나님께서 그의 백성들을 회복시켜 주시기를 간절히 기도 드리고 있다.

 

 

예레미야애가 1:1-2:22

 예레미야는 처참하게 멸망하여 황폐해진 예루살렘의 참상을 보면서 매우 슬퍼하며 절규하였다. 그리고 예루살렘의 구원을 위해 회개의 기도를 드렸으며, 예루살렘을 침공한 바벨론 군대들의 죄악상을 드러내며 하나님의 보응을 간구하였다. 나아가서 예레미야는 하나님의 공의의 심판으로 인해 고난과 조롱을 당하는 백성들에게 회개를 촉구하였다.
  
  예루살렘 성을 향한 애가(1:1-1:22)    
 
  1. How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!
  2. She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
  3. Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
  4. The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
  5. Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
  1. なにゆえ， 獨りで 座っているのか ／人に 溢れていたこの 都が． やもめとなってしまったのか ／多くの 民の 女王であったこの 都が． 奴隷となってしまったのか ／國¿の 姬君であったこの 都が．
  2. 夜もすがら 泣き， 頰に 淚が 流れる． 彼女を 愛した 人のだれも， 今は 慰めを 與えない． 友は 皆， 彼女を 欺き， ことごとく 敵となった．
  3. 貧苦と 重い 苦役の 末に ユダ は 捕囚となって 行き ／異國の 民の 中に 座り， 憩いは 得られず ／苦難のはざまに 追い 詰められてしまった．
  4. シオン に 上る 道は 嘆く ／祭りに 集う 人がもはやいないのを． シオン の 城門はすべて 荒廢し， 祭司らは 呻く． シオン の 苦しみを， おとめらは 悲しむ．
  5. シオン の 背きは 甚だしかった． 主は 懲らしめようと， 敵がはびこることを 許し ／苦しめる 者らを 頭とされた． 彼女の 子らはとりことなり ／苦しめる 者らの 前を， 引かれて 行った．
  1. And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
  2. Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none did help her: the adversaries saw her, and did mock at her sabbaths.
  3. Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward.
  4. Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembereth not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy hath magnified himself.
  5. The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
  1. 榮光はことごとくおとめ シオン を 去り ／その 君侯らは 野の 鹿となった． 靑草を 求めたが 得られず ／疲れ 果ててなお， 追い 立てられてゆく．
  2. エルサレム は 心に 留める ／貧しく 放浪の 旅に 出た 日を ／いにしえから 彼女のものであった ／寶物のすべてを． 苦しめる 者らの 手に 落ちた 彼女の 民を ／助ける 者はない． 絶えゆくさまを 見て， 彼らは 笑っている．
  3. エルサレム は 罪に 罪を 重ね ／笑いものになった． 恥があばかれたので ／重んじてくれた 者にも 輕んじられる． 彼女は 呻きつつ 身を 引く．
  4. 衣の ¿には 汚れが 付いている． 彼女は 行く 末を 心に 留めなかったのだ． 落ちぶれたさまは 驚くばかり． 慰める 者はない． 「御覽ください， 主よ ／わたしの 慘めさを， 敵の 梶りを． 」
  5. 寶物のすべてに 敵は 手を 伸ばした． 彼女は 見た， 異國の 民が 聖所を 侵すのを． 聖なる 集會に 連なることを ／主に 禁じられた 者らが．
  1. All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for meat to relieve the soul: see, O LORD, and consider; for I am become vile.
  2. Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
  3. From above hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made me desolate and faint all the day.
  4. The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand: they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck: he hath made my strength to fall, the LORD hath delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.
  5. The LORD hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the LORD hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
  1. 彼女の 民は 皆， パン を 求めて 呻く． 寶物を 食べ 物に 換えて 命をつなごうとする． 「御覽ください， 主よ ／わたしのむさぼるさまを 見てください． 」
  2. 道行く 人よ， 心して ／目を 留めよ， よく 見よ． これほどの 痛みがあったろうか． わたしを 責めるこの 痛み ／主がついに 怒ってわたしを 懲らす ／この 痛みほどの．
  3. 主は 高い 天から 火を 送り ／わたしの 骨に 火を 下し ／足もとに 網を 投げてわたしを 引き 倒し ／荒廢にまかせ， ひねもす 病み 衰えさせる．
  4. 背いたわたしの 罪は 御手に 束ねられ ／阿とされ， わたしを 壓する． 主の 阿を 首に 負わされ ／力盡きてわたしは 倒れ ／刃向かうこともできない 敵の 手に ／引き 渡されてしまった．
  5. わたしのもとにいる 力ある 者を ／主はすべて 退けられた． わたしに 對して 時を 定め ／若者らを ¿かれた． 主は， 酒ぶねを 踏むかのように ／娘 ユダ のおとめらを 踏みにじられた．
  1. For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.
  2. Zion spreadeth forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the LORD hath commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.
  3. The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
  4. I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and mine elders gave up the ghost in the city, while they sought their meat to relieve their souls.
  5. Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death.
  1. それゆえわたしは 泣く． わたしの 目よ， わたしの 目よ ／淚を 流すがよい． 慰め 勵ましてくれる 者は， 遠く 去った． 敵は 勢いを 增し ／わたしの 子らは 荒廢に 落ちてゆく．
  2. シオン は 手を 差し 出すが， 慰める 者はない． 主は 敵に 命じて ヤコブ を 包圍させられた． エルサレム は 敵の 中で， 笑いものになっている．
  3. 主は 正しい． わたしが 主の 口に 背いたのだ． 聞け， 諸國の 民よ ／見よ， わたしの 痛みを． わたしのおとめらも 若者らも ／捕えられ， 引かれて 行った．
  4. わたしは 愛した 人¿に 呼びかけたが ／皆， わたしを 裏切った． わたしの 祭司ら 長老らは， 都で 息絶える ／命をつなごうと， 食べ 物を 乞いながら．
  5. 御覽ください， 主よ， この 苦しみを． 胸は 裂けんばかり， 心は 亂れています． わたしは 背きに 背いたのです． 外では 劍が 子らを 奪い ／內には 死が 待っています．
  1. They have heard that I sigh: there is none to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that thou hast done it: thou wilt bring the day that thou hast called, and they shall be like unto me.
  2. Let all their wickedness come before thee; and do unto them, as thou hast done unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.
  1. 聞いてください， わたしの 呻きを． 慰めてくれる 者はありません． 敵は 皆， わたしの 受けた 災いを 耳にして ／あなたの 仕打ちを 喜んでいます． 彼らにも 定めの 日を 來らせ ／わたしのような 目に 遭わせてください．
  2. 敵の 惡事が 御前に 屆きますように． あなたの 懲らしめを 受けますように． あなたに 背いたわたしが ／こんなにも 懲らしめられたように． わたしはこうして 呻き 續け ／心は 病に 侵されています．
 
  주의 진노(2:1-2:22)    
 
  1. How hath the LORD covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger!
  2. The LORD hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.
  3. He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.
  4. He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
  5. The LORD was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
  1. なにゆえ， 主は 憤り ／おとめ シオン を 卑しめられるのか． イスラエル の 輝きを 天から 地になげうち ／主の 足台と 呼ばれたところを ／怒りの 日に， 見放された．
  2. ヤコブ の 人里をすべて， 主は 容赦せず 壓倒し ／憤って， おとめ ユダ の 砦をことごとく 破壞し ／この 國を 治める 者， 君侯らを ／地に 打ち 倒して 辱められた．
  3. イスラエル の 角をことごとく ／激しい 怒りをもって 折り ¿き ／敵の 前から 右の 御手をひるがえされた． 御怒りは ヤコブ に 對して 烈火となり ／炎となって 燒き 盡くした．
  4. 敵となって 弓を 引き 絞り， 右の 御手を 構え ／瞳のように 愛しておられたものを ／苦しめる 者となって 皆殺しにし ／おとめ シオン の 天幕に ／火のような 怒りを 注がれた．
  5. 主はまことに 敵となられた． イスラエル を 壓倒し ／その 城郭をすべて 壓倒し， 砦をすべて 滅ぼし ／おとめ ユダ の 呻きと 嘆きをいよいよ 深くされた．
  1. And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
  2. The LORD hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.
  3. The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
  4. Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.
  5. The elders of the daughter of Zion sit upon the ground, and keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.
  1. シオン の 祭りを 滅ぼし ／假庵をも， 園をも 荒廢させられた． 安息日をも， 祭りをも シオン に 忘れさせ ／王をも， 祭司をも ／激しい 怒りをもって 退けられた．
  2. 主は 御自分の 祭壇をすら 見捨て ／御自分の 聖所をすら 見捨て ／城郭をも 城壁をも， 敵の 手に 渡された． 敵は 主の 家で 喚聲をあげる ／あたかも 祭りの 日のように．
  3. 主はおとめ シオン の 城壁を 滅ぼそうと 定め ／打ち 倒すべき 所を 測り ¿ではかり ／御手をひるがえされない． 城壁も 砦も 共に 嘆き， 共に 喪に 服す．
  4. 城門はことごとく 地に 倒れ， かんぬきは ¿けた． 王と 君侯は 異國の 民の 中にあり ／律法を 敎える 者は 失われ ／預言者は 主からの 幻による 託宣を ／もはや 見いだすことができない．
  5. おとめ シオン の 長老は 皆， 地に 座して 默し ／頭に 灰をかぶり， 粗布を 身にまとう． エルサレム のおとめらは， 頭を 地につけている．
  1. Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.
  2. They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom.
  3. What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee?
  4. Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.
  5. All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?
  1. わたしの 目は 淚にかすみ， 胸は 裂ける． わたしの 民の 娘が 打ち ¿かれたので ／わたしのはらわたは 溶けて 地に 流れる． 幼子も 乳飮み 子も 町の 廣場で 衰えてゆく．
  2. 幼子は 母に 言う ／ パン はどこ， ぶどう 酒はどこ， と． 都の 廣場で 傷つき， 衰えて ／母のふところに 抱かれ， 息絶えてゆく．
  3. おとめ エルサレム よ ／あなたを 何にたとえ， 何の 證しとしよう． おとめ シオン よ ／あなたを 何になぞらえて 慰めよう． 海のように 深い 痛手を 負ったあなたを ／誰が 癒せよう．
  4. 預言者はあなたに 託宣を 與えたが ／むなしい， 僞りの 言葉ばかりであった． あなたを 立ち 直らせるには ／一度， 罪をあばくべきなのに ／むなしく， 迷わすことを ／あなたに 向かって 告げるばかりであった．
  5. 道行く 人はだれもかれも ／手をたたいてあなたを 嘲る． おとめ エルサレム よ， あなたに 向かって ／口笛を 吹き， 頭を 振ってはやしたてる ／「麗しさの 極み， 全地の 喜びと ／たたえられた 都がこれか 」と．
  1. All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.
  2. The LORD hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.
  3. Their heart cried unto the LORD, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.
  4. Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the LORD: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
  5. Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?
  1. 敵は 皆， あなたに 向かって 大口を 開け ／齒をむき， 口笛を 吹き， そして 言う ／「滅ぼし 盡くしたぞ． ああ， これこそ 待ちに 待った 日だ． たしかに 見屆けた 」と．
  2. 主は 計畵したことを 實現し ／約束したことを 果たされる 方． 昔， 命じておかれたところのゆえに ／あなたを 破壞し， 容赦されなかった． 敵はそのあなたを 見て 喜び ／あなたを 苦しめる 者らは 角を 上げる．
  3. おとめ シオン の 城壁よ ／主に 向かって 心から 叫べ． ¿も 夜も， 川のように 淚を 流せ． 休むことなくその 瞳から 淚を 流せ．
  4. 立て， 宵の 初めに． 夜を 徹して 嘆きの 聲をあげるために． 主の 御前に 出て ／水のようにあなたの 心を 注ぎ 出せ． 兩手を 上げて 命乞いをせよ ／あなたの 幼子らのために． 彼らはどの 街角でも 飢えに 衰えてゆく．
  5. 主よ， 目を 留めてよく 見てください． これほど 懲らしめられた 者がありましょうか． 女がその 胎の 實を ／育てた 子を 食い 物にしているのです． 祭司や 預言者が ／主の 聖所で 殺されているのです．
  1. The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed, and not pitied.
  2. Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD's anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.
  1. 街では 老人も 子供も 地に 倒れ 伏し ／おとめも 若者も 劍にかかって 死にました． あなたは， ついに 怒り ／殺し， 屠って 容赦されませんでした．
  2. 祭りの 日のように 聲をあげて 脅かす 者らを 呼び ／わたしを 包圍させられました． 主が 怒りを 發したこの 日に ／逃げのびた 者も 生き 殘った 者もなく ／わたしが 養い 育てた 子らは ／ことごとく 敵に 滅ぼされてしまいました．
