- Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
- A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
- For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
- For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
- Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

- 今述べていることの 要点は， わたしたちにはこのような 大祭司が 與えられていて， 天におられる 大いなる 方の 玉座の 右の 座に 着き，
- 人間ではなく 主がお 建てになった 聖所また 眞の 幕屋で， 仕えておられるということです．
- すべて 大祭司は， 供え 物といけにえとを 獻げるために， 任命されています． それで， この 方も， 何か 獻げる 物を 持っておられなければなりません．
- もし， 地上におられるのだとすれば， 律法に 從って 供え 物を 獻げる 祭司たちが 現にいる 以上， この 方は 決して 祭司ではありえなかったでしょう．
- この 祭司たちは， 天にあるものの 寫しであり 影であるものに 仕えており， そのことは， モ ― セ が 幕屋を 建てようとしたときに， お 告げを 受けたとおりです． 神は， 「見よ， 山で 示された 型どおりに， すべてのものを 作れ 」と 言われたのです．

- But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
- For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
- For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
- Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
- For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

- しかし， 今， わたしたちの 大祭司は， それよりはるかに 優れた 務めを 得ておられます． 更にまさった 約束に 基づいて 制定された， 更にまさった 契約の 仲介者になられたからです．
- もし， あの 最初の 契約が 欠けたところのないものであったなら， 第二の 契約の 余地はなかったでしょう．
- 事實， 神は イスラエル の 人¿を 非難して 次のように 言われています． 「『見よ， わたしが イスラエル の 家， また ユダ の 家と， ／新しい 契約を 結ぶ 時が 來る 』と， ／主は 言われる．
- 『それは， わたしが 彼らの 先祖の 手を 取って， ／ エジプト の 地から 導き 出した 日に， ／彼らと 結んだ 契約のようなものではない． 彼らはわたしの 契約に 忠實でなかったので， ／わたしも 彼らを 顧みなかった 』と， ／主は 言われる．
- 『それらの 日の 後， わたしが ／ イスラエル の 家と 結ぶ 契約はこれである 』と， ／主は 言われる． 『すなわち， わたしの 律法を 彼らの 思いに 置き， ／彼らの 心にそれを 書きつけよう． わたしは 彼らの 神となり， ／彼らはわたしの 民となる．

- And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
- For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
- In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

- 彼らはそれぞれ 自分の 同胞に， ／それぞれ 自分の 兄弟に， ／「主を 知れ 」と 言って 敎える 必要はなくなる． 小さな 者から 大きな 者に 至るまで ／彼らはすべて， わたしを 知るようになり，
- わたしは， 彼らの 不義を 赦し， ／もはや 彼らの 罪を 思い 出しはしないからである． 』」
- 神は「新しいもの 」と 言われることによって， 最初の 契約は 古びてしまったと 宣言されたのです． 年を 經て 古びたものは， 間もなく 消えうせます．
