잠언 18:20-19:7

 성실하고 마음이 너그러운 자는 지혜가 있으나, 입술이 패려한 자나 야웨를 원망하는 자나 거짓 증언하는 자는 지혜가 없다.
  
 
  1. A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
  2. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
  3. Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
  4. The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.
  5. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
  1. 人は 口の 結ぶ 實によって 腹を 滿たし ／唇のもたらすものによって 飽き 足りる．
  2. 死も 生も 舌の 力に 支配される． 舌を 愛する 者はその 實りを 食らう．
  3. 妻を 得るものは 惠みを 得る． 主に 喜び 迎えられる．
  4. 物乞いをする 者は 哀願し ／金持ちは 橫柄に 答える．
  5. 友の 振りをする 友もあり ／兄弟よりも 愛し， 親密になる 人もある．
 
 
  1. Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
  2. Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
  3. The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
  4. Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
  5. A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
  1. 貧乏でも， 完全な 道を 步む 人は ／唇の 曲がった 愚か 者よりも 幸いだ．
  2. 知識がなければ 欲しても 不毛だ． あまり 足を 急がせると 過ちを 犯す．
  3. 人は 無知によって 自分の 道を 滅ぼす． しかも 主に 對して 心に 憤りをもつ．
  4. 財産は 友の 數を 增す． 弱者は 友から 引き 離される．
  5. うそをつく 證人は 罰を 免れることはない． 欺きの 發言をすれば 逃げおおせることはない．
  1. Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
  2. All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
  1. 高貴な 人の 好意を 求める 者は 多い． 贈り 物をする 人にはだれでも 友になる．
  2. 實の 兄弟も 皆， 貧しい 人を 憎む． 友達ならなお， 彼を 遠ざかる． 彼らは 言っていることを 實行しようとはしない．
