	아모스 4:1-6:14 아모스는 바산의 암소들로 비유되는 북이스라엘의 상류층 사람들에 대한 심판을 선포한 후, 여러 재앙을 당해도 도무지 회개하지 않고 형식적으로만 하나님을 섬기는 북이스라엘의 전 국민에게 심판을 선포하였다. 그는 북이스라엘의 멸망에 대한 애가를 불렀으며, 피할 수 없는 야웨의 날의 심판을 알렸다.

	북이스라엘의 심판(4:1-6:14)

Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.

The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.

And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the LORD.

Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:

And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

この言葉を聞け．サマリアの山にいるバシャンの雌牛どもよ．弱い者を壓迫し，貧しい者を虐げる女たちよ．「酒を持ってきなさい．一緖に飮もう」と／夫に向かって言う者らよ．

主なる神は，嚴かに誓われる．見よ，お前たちにこのような日が來る．お前たちは肉一で引き上げられ／最後の者も釣一で引き上げられる．

お前たちは次¿に，城壁の破れから引き出され／ヘルモンの方へ投げ出されると／主は言われる．

ベテルに行って罪を犯し／ギルガルに行って罪を重ねよ．朝ごとにいけにえを携え／三日目には十分の一稅を納めるがよい．

感謝の獻げ物に酵母を入れたパンを燒け．大聲で，隨意の獻げ物をする，と觸れ回れ．イスラエルの人¿よ／それがお前たちの好んでいることだと／主なる神は言われる．

And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

だから，わたしもお前たちのすべての町で／齒を淸く保たせ／どの居住地でもパンを欠乏させた．しかし，お前たちはわたしに歸らなかったと／主は言われる．

また，刈り入れにはまだ三月もあったのに／わたしはお前たちに雨を拒んだ．ある町には雨を降らせ／ほかの町には雨を降らせなかった．ある畑には雨が降ったが／雨のない畑は枯れてしまった．

二つ三つの町が水を飮むために／一つの町によろめいて行ったが／渴きはいやされなかった．しかし，お前たちはわたしに歸らなかったと／主は言われる．

わたしはお前たちを黑穗病と赤さび病で擊ち／お前たちの園とぶどう畑を枯らせた．また，いちじくとオリ ― ブの木は／いなごが食い荒らした．しかし，お前たちはわたしに歸らなかったと／主は言われる．

かつて，エジプトを襲った疫病を／わたしはお前たちに送り／お前たちのえり拔きの兵士と／誇りとする軍馬とを劍で殺した．わたしは陣營に惡臭を立ち上らせ／鼻をつかせた．しかし，お前たちはわたしに歸らなかったと／主は言われる．

I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.

かつて，神がソドムとゴモラを覆したように／わたしはお前たちを覆した．お前たちは炎の中から取り出された／燃えさしのようになった．しかし，お前たちはわたしに歸らなかったと／主は言われる．

それゆえ，イスラエルよ／わたしはお前にこのようにする．わたしがこのことを行うゆえに／イスラエルよ／お前は自分の神と出會う備えをせよ．

見よ，神は山¿を造り／風を創造し／その計畵を人に告げ／暗闇を變えて曙とし／地の聖なる高台を踏み越えられる．その御名は万軍の神なる主．

Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.

The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.

For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.

For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:

But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.

イスラエルの家よ，この言葉を聞け．わたしがお前たちについてうたう悲しみの歌を．

「おとめイスラエルは倒れて／再び起き上がらず／地に捨てられて／助け起こす者はいない．」

まことに，主なる神はこう言われる．「イスラエルの家では／千人の兵を出した町に，生き殘るのは百人／百人の兵を出した町に，生き殘るのは十人．」

まことに，主はイスラエルの家にこう言われる．わたしを求めよ，そして生きよ．

しかし，ベテルに助けを求めるな／ギルガルに行くな／ベエル · シェバに赴くな．ギルガルは必ず捕らえ移され／ベテルは無に歸するから．

Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.

Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,

Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:

That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.

They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.

主を求めよ，そして生きよ．さもないと主は火のように／ヨセフの家に襲いかかり／火が燃え盛っても／ベテルのためにその火を消す者はない．

裁きを苦よもぎに變え／正しいことを地に投げ捨てる者よ．

すばるとオリオンを造り／闇を朝に變え／¿を暗い夜にし／海の水を呼び集めて地の面に注がれる方．その御名は主．

主が突如として砦に破滅をもたらされると／その堅固な守りは破滅する．

彼らは町の門で訴えを公平に扱う者を憎み／眞實を語る者を嫌う．

Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.

For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.

Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.

Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.

Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

お前たちは弱い者を踏みつけ／彼らから穀物の貢納を取り立てるゆえ／切り石の家を建てても／そこに住むことはできない．見事なぶどう畑を作っても／その酒を飮むことはできない．

お前たちの咎がどれほど多いか／その罪がどれほど重いか，わたしは知っている．お前たちは正しい者に敵對し，賄賂を取り／町の門で貧しい者の訴えを退けている．

それゆえ，知惠ある者はこの時代に沈默する．まことに，これは惡い時代だ．

善を求めよ，惡を求めるな／お前たちが生きることができるために．そうすれば，お前たちが言うように／万軍の神なる主は／お前たちと共にいてくださるだろう．

惡を憎み，善を愛せよ／また，町の門で正義を貫け．あるいは，万軍の神なる主が／ヨセフの殘りの者を／憐れんでくださることもあろう．

Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the LORD, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.

And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.

Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

それゆえ，万軍の神なる主はこう言われる．どの廣場にも嘆きが起こり／どの通りにも泣き聲があがる．悲しむために農夫が／嘆くために泣き男が呼ばれる．

どのぶどう畑にも嘆きが起こる．わたしがお前たちの中を通るからだと／主は言われる．

災いだ，主の日を待ち望む者は．主の日はお前たちにとって何か．それは闇であって，光ではない．

人が獅子の前から逃れても熊に會い／家にたどりついても／壁に手で寄りかかると／その手を蛇にかまれるようなものだ．

主の日は闇であって，光ではない．暗闇であって，輝きではない．

I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.

But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.

Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?

わたしはお前たちの祭りを憎み，退ける．祭りの獻げ物の香りも喜ばない．

たとえ，燒き盡くす獻げ物をわたしにささげても／穀物の獻げ物をささげても／わたしは受け入れず／肥えた動物の獻げ物も顧みない．

お前たちの ¿がしい歌をわたしから遠ざけよ．竪琴の音もわたしは聞かない．

正義を洪水のように／惠みの業を大河のように／盡きることなく流れさせよ．

イスラエルの家よ／かつて四十年の間，荒れ野にいたとき／お前たちはわたしに／いけにえや獻げ物をささげただろうか．

But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.

Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.

今，お前たちは王として仰ぐ偶像の御輿や／神として仰ぐ星，偶像ケワンを擔ぎ回っている．それはお前たちが勝手に造ったものだ．

わたしは，お前たちを捕囚として／ダマスコのかなたの地に連れ去らせると／主は言われる．その御名は万軍の神．

Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!

Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?

Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;

That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;

That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;

災いだ，シオンに安住し／サマリアの山で安逸をむさぼる者らは．諸國民の頭である國に君臨し／イスラエルの家は彼らに從っている．

カルネに赴いて，よく見よ．そこから，ハマト · ラバに行き／ペリシテ人のガトに下れ．お前たちはこれらの王國にまさっているか．彼らの領土は／お前たちの領土より大きいか．

お前たちは災いの日を遠ざけようとして／不法による支配を引き寄せている．

お前たちは象牙の寢台に橫たわり／長いすに寢そべり／羊の群れから小羊を取り／牛舍から子牛を取って宴を開き

竪琴の音に合わせて歌に興じ／ダビデのように樂器を考え出す．

That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.

The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.

And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.

And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.

大杯でぶどう酒を飮み／最高の香油を身に注ぐ．しかし，ヨセフの破滅に心を痛めることがない．

それゆえ，今や彼らは捕囚の列の先頭を行き／寢そべって酒宴を樂しむことはなくなる．

主なる神は御自分を指して誓われる．万軍の神なる主は言われる．わたしはヤコブの誇る神殿を忌み嫌い／その城郭を憎む．わたしは都とその中のすべてのものを敵に渡す．

もし，一軒の家に男が十人殘っているなら，彼らも死ぬ．

親族と死體を燒く者が，彼らを家の中から運び出す．そのとき，一人が家の奧にいる者に，「まだ，あなたと共にいる者がいるのか」と尋ねると，「いない」と答え，「聲を出すな，主の名を唱えるな」と言う．

For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.

Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:

Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?

But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.

見よ，主が命じられる．「大きな家を打って粉¿にし／小さな家をみじんにせよ．」

馬が岩の上を驅けるだろうか／牛が海を耕すだろうか．お前たちは裁きを毒草に／惠みの業の實を苦よもぎに變えた．

お前たちはロ · ダバル（空虛）を喜び／「我¿は自分の力で／カルナイムを手に入れたではないか」と言う．

しかし，イスラエルの家よ／わたしはお前たちに對して一つの國を興す．彼らはレボ · ハマトからアラバの谷に至るまで／お前たちを壓迫すると／万軍の神なる主は言われる．
