	예레미야 23:33-25:38 하나님께서는 하나님의 말씀을 조소하는 무리들에게 영원한 치욕과 수치가 임하게 될 것을 선포하셨다. 무화과 두 광주리의 비유를 통해, 선한 무화과에 비유된 자들은 바벨론에 포로로 잡혀 갔다가 귀환하게 되지만, 악한 무화과나무에 비유된 자들은 바벨론의 포로가 되는 데 항거하여 이방에 흩어져 멸망될 것임을 보여 주셨다. 또한 유다를 징벌하신 후 바벨론과 이방 열국을 진멸하실 것을 예고하셨다.

	거짓 선지자들의 심판(23:33-23:40)

And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.

And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.

Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?

And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.

Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?

이 백성이나 선지자나 제사장이 네게 물어 이르기를 여호와의 엄중한 말씀이 무엇인가 묻거든 너는 그들에게 대답하기를 엄중한 말씀이 무엇이냐 묻느냐 여호와의 말씀에 내가 너희를 버리리라 하셨고

또 여호와의 엄중한 말씀이라 하는 선지자에게나 제사장에게나 백성에게는 내가 그 사람과 그 집안을 벌하리라 하셨다 하고

너희는 서로 이웃과 형제에게 묻기를 여호와께서 무엇이라 응답하셨으며 여호와께서 무엇이라 말씀하셨느냐 하고

다시는 여호와의 엄중한 말씀이라 말하지 말라 각 사람의 말이 자기에게 중벌이 되리니 이는 너희가 살아 계신 하나님, 만군의 여호와 우리 하나님의 말씀을 망령되이 사용함이니라 하고

너는 또 선지자에게 말하기를 여호와께서 네게 무엇이라 대답하셨으며 여호와께서 무엇이라 말씀하셨느냐

But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;

Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:

And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

너희는 여호와의 엄중한 말씀이라 말하도다 그러므로 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 내가 너희에게 사람을 보내어 이 말씀은 여호와의 엄중한 말씀이니 너희는 말하지 말라 하였으나 너희가 여호와의 엄중한 말씀이라 하였은즉

내가 너희를 온전히 잊어버리며 내가 너희와 너희 조상들에게 준 이 성읍을 내 앞에서 내버려

너희는 영원한 치욕과 잊지 못할 영구한 수치를 당하게 하리라 하셨느니라

	무화과 두 광주리의 비유(24:1-24:10)

The LORD shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the LORD, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

Then said the LORD unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.

바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕이 유다 왕 여호야김의 아들 여고냐와 유다 고관들과 목공들과 철공들을 예루살렘에서 바벨론으로 옮긴 후에 여호와께서 여호와의 성전 앞에 놓인 무화과 두 광주리를 내게 보이셨는데

한 광주리에는 처음 익은 듯한 극히 좋은 무화과가 있고 한 광주리에는 나빠서 먹을 수 없는 극히 나쁜 무화과가 있더라

여호와께서 내게 이르시되 예레미야야 네가 무엇을 보느냐 하시매 내가 대답하되 무화과이온데 그 좋은 무화과는 극히 좋고 그 나쁜 것은 아주 나빠서 먹을 수 없게 나쁘니이다 하니

여호와의 말씀이 또 내게 임하니라 이르시되

이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시니라 내가 이 곳에서 옮겨 갈대아인의 땅에 이르게 한 유다 포로를 이 좋은 무화과 같이 잘 돌볼 것이라

For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:

And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.

And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.

내가 그들을 돌아보아 좋게 하여 다시 이 땅으로 인도하여 세우고 헐지 아니하며 심고 뽑지 아니하겠고

내가 여호와인 줄 아는 마음을 그들에게 주어서 그들이 전심으로 내게 돌아오게 하리니 그들은 내 백성이 되겠고 나는 그들의 하나님이 되리라

여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시니라 내가 유다의 왕 시드기야와 그 고관들과 예루살렘의 남은 자로서 이 땅에 남아 있는 자와 애굽 땅에 사는 자들을 나빠서 먹을 수 없는 이 나쁜 무화과 같이 버리되

세상 모든 나라 가운데 흩어서 그들에게 환난을 당하게 할 것이며 또 그들에게 내가 쫓아 보낼 모든 곳에서 부끄러움을 당하게 하며 말 거리가 되게 하며 조롱과 저주를 받게 할 것이며

내가 칼과 기근과 전염병을 그들 가운데 보내 그들이 내가 그들과 그들의 조상들에게 준 땅에서 멸절하기까지 이르게 하리라 하시니라

	바벨론 포로와 열방의 심판(25:1-25:38)

The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;

The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,

From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.

And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

유다의 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김 넷째 해 곧 바벨론의 왕 느부갓네살 원년에 유다의 모든 백성에 관한 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라

선지자 예레미야가 유다의 모든 백성과 예루살렘의 모든 주민에게 말하여 이르되

유다의 왕 아몬의 아들 요시야 왕 열셋째 해부터 오늘까지 이십삼 년 동안 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하기로 내가 너희에게 꾸준히 일렀으나 너희가 순종하지 아니하였느니라

그러므로 여호와께서 그의 모든 종 선지자를 너희에게 끊임없이 보내셨으나 너희가 순종하지 아니하였으며 귀를 기울여 듣지도 아니하였도다

그가 이르시기를 너희는 각자의 악한 길과 악행을 버리고 돌아오라 그리하면 나 여호와가 너희와 너희 조상들에게 영원부터 영원까지 준 그 땅에 살리라

And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

너희는 다른 신을 따라다니며 섬기거나 경배하지 말며 너희 손으로 만든 것으로써 나의 노여움을 일으키지 말라 그리하면 내가 너희를 해하지 아니하리라 하였으나

너희가 내 말을 순종하지 아니하고 너희 손으로 만든 것으로써 나의 노여움을 일으켜 스스로 해하였느니라 여호와의 말씀이니라

그러므로 만군의 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시니라 너희가 내 말을 듣지 아니하였느니라

보라 내가 북쪽 모든 종족과 내 종 바벨론의 왕 느부갓네살을 불러다가 이 땅과 그 주민과 사방 모든 나라를 쳐서 진멸하여 그들을 놀램과 비웃음 거리가 되게 하며 땅으로 영원한 폐허가 되게 할 것이라 여호와의 말씀이니라

내가 그들 중에서 기뻐하는 소리와 즐거워하는 소리와 신랑의 소리와 신부의 소리와 맷돌 소리와 등불 빛이 끊어지게 하리니

And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.

For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

이 모든 땅이 폐허가 되어 놀랄 일이 될 것이며 이 민족들은 칠십 년 동안 바벨론의 왕을 섬기리라

여호와의 말씀이니라 칠십 년이 끝나면 내가 바벨론의 왕과 그의 나라와 갈대아인의 땅을 그 죄악으로 말미암아 벌하여 영원히 폐허가 되게 하되

내가 그 땅을 향하여 선언한 바 곧 예레미야가 모든 민족을 향하여 예언하고 이 책에 기록한 나의 모든 말을 그 땅에 임하게 하리라

그리하여 여러 민족과 큰 왕들이 그들로 자기들을 섬기게 할 것이나 나는 그들의 행위와 그들의 손이 행한 대로 갚으리라

이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 내게 이르시되 너는 내 손에서 이 진노의 술잔을 받아가지고 내가 너를 보내는 바 그 모든 나라로 하여금 마시게 하라

And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.

Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:

To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;

Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;

And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,

그들이 마시고 비틀거리며 미친 듯이 행동하리니 이는 내가 그들 중에 칼을 보냈기 때문이니라 하시기로

내가 여호와의 손에서 그 잔을 받아서 여호와께서 나를 보내신 바 그 모든 나라로 마시게 하되

예루살렘과 유다 성읍들과 그 왕들과 그 고관들로 마시게 하였더니 그들이 멸망과 놀램과 비웃음과 저주를 당함이 오늘과 같으니라

또 애굽의 왕 바로와 그의 신하들과 그의 고관들과 그의 모든 백성과

모든 섞여 사는 민족들과 우스 땅의 모든 왕과 블레셋 사람의 땅 모든 왕과 아스글론과 가사와 에그론과 아스돗의 나머지 사람들과

Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,

And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,

Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,

And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,

And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,

에돔과 모압과 암몬 자손과

두로의 모든 왕과 시돈의 모든 왕과 바다 건너쪽 섬의 왕들과

드단과 데마와 부스와 살쩍을 깎은 모든 자와

아라비아의 모든 왕과 광야에서 섞여 사는 민족들의 모든 왕과

시므리의 모든 왕과 엘람의 모든 왕과 메대의 모든 왕과

And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

북쪽 원근의 모든 왕과 지면에 있는 세상의 모든 나라로 마시게 하니라 세삭 왕은 그 후에 마시리라

너는 그들에게 이르기를 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님의 말씀에 너희는 내가 너희 가운데 보내는 칼 앞에서 마시며 취하여 토하고 엎드러져 다시는 일어나지 말아라 하셨느니라

그들이 만일 네 손에서 잔을 받아 마시기를 거절하거든 너는 그들에게 이르기를 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 너희가 반드시 마셔야 하리라

보라 내가 내 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 성에서부터 재앙 내리기를 시작하였은즉 너희가 어찌 능히 형벌을 면할 수 있느냐 면하지 못하리니 이는 내가 칼을 불러 세상의 모든 주민을 칠 것임이라 하셨다 하라 만군의 여호와의 말씀이니라

그러므로 너는 그들에게 이 모든 말로 예언하여 이르기를 여호와께서 높은 데서 포효하시고 그의 거룩한 처소에서 소리를 내시며 그의 초장을 향하여 크게 부르시고 세상 모든 주민에 대하여 포도 밟는 자 같이 흥겹게 노래하시리라

A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.

And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

요란한 소리가 땅 끝까지 이름은 여호와께서 뭇 민족과 다투시며 모든 육체를 심판하시며 악인을 칼에 내어 주셨음이라 여호와의 말씀이니라

만군의 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시니라 보라 재앙이 나서 나라에서 나라에 미칠 것이며 큰 바람이 땅 끝에서 일어날 것이라

그 날에 여호와에게 죽임을 당한 자가 땅 이 끝에서 땅 저 끝에 미칠 것이나 그들을 위하여 애곡하는 자도 없고 시신을 거두어 주는 자도 없고 매장하여 주는 자도 없으리니 그들은 지면에서 분토가 되리로다

너희 목자들아 외쳐 애곡하라 너희 양 떼의 인도자들아 잿더미에서 뒹굴라 이는 너희가 도살 당할 날과 흩음을 당할 기한이 찼음인즉 너희가 귀한 그릇이 떨어짐 같이 될 것이라

목자들은 도망할 수 없겠고 양 떼의 인도자들은 도주할 수 없으리로다

A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.

And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

목자들이 부르짖는 소리와 양 떼의 인도자들이 애곡하는 소리여 여호와가 그들의 초장을 황폐하게 함이로다

평화로운 목장들이 여호와의 진노하시는 열기 앞에서 적막하게 되리라

그가 젊은 사자 같이 그 굴에서 나오셨으니 그 호통치시는 분의 분노와 그의 극렬한 진노로 말미암아 그들의 땅이 폐허가 되리로다 하시니라

	세삭( 25:26) ‘바벨론’을 지칭하는 암호적인 이름. 심판이란 의미가 담겨 있음

	염습(殮襲, 25:33) 죽은 사람의 몸을 씻고 옷을 입히는 일
