- さて， イエス は 御靈によって 荒野に 導かれた． 惡魔に 試みられるためである．
- そして， 四十日四十夜， 斷食をし， そののち 空腹になられた．
- すると 試みる 者がきて 言った， 「もしあなたが 神の 子であるなら， これらの 石が パン になるように 命じてごらんなさい 」．
- イエス は 答えて 言われた， 「『人は パン だけで 生きるものではなく， 神の 口から 出る 一つ 一つの 言で 生きるものである 』と 書いてある 」．
- それから 惡魔は， イエス を 聖なる 都に 連れて 行き， 宮の 頂上に 立たせて

- Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
- After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
- The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
- Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
- Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.

- 言った， 「もしあなたが 神の 子であるなら， 下へ 飛びおりてごらんなさい． 『神はあなたのために 御使たちにお 命じになると， あなたの 足が 石に 打ちつけられないように， 彼らはあなたを 手でささえるであろう 』と 書いてありますから 」．
- イエス は 彼に 言われた， 「『主なるあなたの 神を 試みてはならない 』とまた 書いてある 」．
- 次に 惡魔は， イエス を 非常に 高い 山に 連れて 行き， この 世のすべての 國¿とその 榮華とを 見せて
- 言った， 「もしあなたが， ひれ 伏してわたしを 拜むなら， これらのものを 皆あなたにあげましょう 」．
- すると イエス は 彼に 言われた， 「サタン よ， 退け． 『主なるあなたの 神を 拜し， ただ 神にのみ 仕えよ 』と 書いてある 」．

- "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: " 'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
- Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"
- Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
- "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."
- Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"

- そこで， 惡魔は イエス を 離れ 去り， そして， 御使たちがみもとにきて 仕えた．
- さて， イエス は ヨハネ が 捕えられたと 聞いて， ガリラヤ へ 退かれた．
- そして ナザレ を 去り， ゼブルン と ナフタリ との 地方にある 海べの 町 カペナウム に 行って 住まわれた．
- これは 預言者 イザヤ によって 言われた 言が， 成就するためである．
- 「ゼブルン の 地， ナフタリ の 地， 海に 沿う 地方， ヨルダン の 向こうの 地， 異邦人の ガリラヤ ，

- Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
- When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he returned to Galilee.
- Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali--
- to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
- "Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, along the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles--

- 暗黑の 中に 住んでいる 民は 大いなる 光を 見， 死の 地， 死の 陰に 住んでいる 人¿に， 光がのぼった 」．
- この 時から イエス は 敎を 宣べはじめて 言われた， 「悔い 改めよ， 天國は 近づいた 」．
- さて， イエス が ガリラヤ の 海べを 步いておられると， ふたりの 兄弟， すなわち， ペテロ と 呼ばれた シモン とその 兄弟 アンデレ とが， 海に 網を 打っているのをごらんになった． 彼らは 漁師であった．
- イエス は 彼らに 言われた， 「わたしについてきなさい． あなたがたを， 人間をとる 漁師にしてあげよう 」．
- すると， 彼らはすぐに 網を 捨てて， イエス に 從った．

- the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."
- From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
- As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.
- "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
- At once they left their nets and followed him.

- そこから 進んで 行かれると， ほかのふたりの 兄弟， すなわち， ゼベダイ の 子 ヤコブ とその 兄弟 ヨハネ とが， 父 ゼベダイ と 一緖に， 舟の 中で 網を 繕っているのをごらんになった． そこで 彼らをお 招きになると，
- すぐ 舟と 父とをおいて， イエス に 從って 行った．
- イエス は ガリラヤ の 全地を 巡り 步いて， 諸會堂で 敎え， 御國の 福音を 宣べ 傳え， 民の 中のあらゆる 病氣， あらゆるわずらいをおいやしになった．
- そこで， その 評判は シリヤ 全地にひろまり， 人¿があらゆる 病にかかっている 者， すなわち， いろいろの 病氣と 苦しみとに 惱んでいる 者， 惡靈につかれている 者， てんかん， 中風の 者などを イエス のところに 連れてきたので， これらの 人¿をおいやしになった．
- こうして， ガリラヤ ， デカポリス ， エルサレム ， ユダヤ 及び ヨルダン の 向こうから， おびただしい 群衆がきて イエス に 從った．

- Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them,
- and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
- Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
- News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.
- Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.
