- さて， 過越と 除酵との 祭の 二日前になった． 祭司長たちや 律法學者たちは， 策略をもって イエス を 捕えたうえ， なんとかして 殺そうと 計っていた．
- 彼らは， 「祭の 間はいけない． 民衆が ¿ぎを 起すかも 知れない 」と 言っていた．
- イエス が ベタニヤ で， らい 病人 シモン の 家にいて， 食卓についておられたとき， ひとりの 女が， 非常に 高價で 純粹な ナルド の 香油が 入れてある 石膏のつぼを 持ってきて， それをこわし， 香油を イエス の 頭に 注ぎかけた．
- すると， ある 人¿が 憤って 互に 言った， 「なんのために 香油をこんなにむだにするのか．
- この 香油を 三百 デナリ 以上にでも 賣って， 貧しい 人たちに 施すことができたのに 」． そして 女をきびしくとがめた．

- Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some sly way to arrest Jesus and kill him.
- "But not during the Feast," they said, "or the people may riot."
- While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.
- Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why this waste of perfume?
- It could have been sold for more than a year's wages and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly.

- すると イエス は 言われた， 「するままにさせておきなさい． なぜ 女を 困らせるのか． わたしによい 事をしてくれたのだ．
- 貧しい 人たちはいつもあなたがたと 一緖にいるから， したいときにはいつでも， よい 事をしてやれる． しかし， わたしはあなたがたといつも 一緖にいるわけではない．
- この 女はできる 限りの 事をしたのだ． すなわち， わたしのからだに 油を 注いで， あらかじめ 葬りの 用意をしてくれたのである．
- よく 聞きなさい． 全世界のどこででも， 福音が 宣べ 傳えられる 所では， この 女のした 事も 記念として 語られるであろう 」．
- ときに， 十二弟子のひとり イスカリオテ の ユダ は， イエス を 祭司長たちに 引きわたそうとして， 彼らの 所へ 行った．

- "Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.
- The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me.
- She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial.
- I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."
- Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them.

- 彼らはこれを 聞いて 喜び， 金を 與えることを 約束した． そこで ユダ は， どうかして イエス を 引きわたそうと， 機會をねらっていた．
- 除酵祭の 第一日， すなわち 過越の 小羊をほふる 日に， 弟子たちが イエス に 尋ねた， 「わたしたちは， 過越の 食事をなさる 用意を， どこへ 行ってしたらよいでしょうか 」．
- そこで， イエス はふたりの 弟子を 使いに 出して 言われた， 「市內に 行くと， 水がめを 持っている 男に 出會うであろう． その 人について 行きなさい．
- そして， その 人がはいって 行く 家の 主人に 言いなさい， 『弟子たちと 一緖に 過越の 食事をする 座敷はどこか， と 先生が 言っておられます 』．
- するとその 主人は， 席を 整えて 用意された 二階の 廣間を 見せてくれるから， そこにわたしたちのために 用意をしなさい 」．

- They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money. So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
- On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus' disciples asked him, "Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"
- So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, "Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him.
- Say to the owner of the house he enters, 'The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?'
- He will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there."

- 弟子たちは 出かけて 市內に 行って 見ると， イエス が 言われたとおりであったので， 過越の 食事の 用意をした．
- 夕方になって， イエス は 十二弟子と 一緖にそこに 行かれた．
- そして， 一同が 席について 食事をしているとき 言われた， 「特にあなたがたに 言っておくが， あなたがたの 中のひとりで， わたしと 一緖に 食事をしている 者が， わたしを 裏切ろうとしている 」．
- 弟子たちは 心配して， ひとりびとり「まさか， わたしではないでしょう 」と 言い 出した．
- イエス は 言われた， 「十二人の 中のひとりで， わたしと 一緖に 同じ 鉢に パン をひたしている 者が， それである．

- The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
- When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve.
- While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me--one who is eating with me."
- They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, "Surely not I?"
- "It is one of the Twelve," he replied, "one who dips bread into the bowl with me.

- たしかに 人の 子は， 自分について 書いてあるとおりに 去って 行く． しかし， 人の 子を 裏切るその 人は， わざわいである． その 人は 生れなかった 方が， 彼のためによかったであろう 」．

- The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."
