사사기

  본서는 여호수아 이후 왕정 수립 이전까지의 과도기적인 역사를 다루고 있으며, 하나님만이 이스라엘의 궁극적인 사사요, 구원자이심을 보여 주고 있다. 이스라엘은 군사적으로 가나안을 정복했지만, 가나안 문화와 종교의 영향으로 타락의 길로 들어서게 되었고 이에 대한 하나님의 징계로 이방 민족의 압제에 시달리는 혼란의 시기를 지냈다.

  본서는 사사 시대 이스라엘의 반복되는 역사적 상황을 묘사하고 있다. 이스라엘의 타락과 그로 말미암은 이방 국가로부터의 압제와 종살이, 이스라엘의 각성과 회개를 통해 하나님께서 사사를 세워 구원하시는 사건이 반복되고 있으며, 영적 타락으로 인한 이스라엘의 도덕적, 사회적 타락상을 기록함으로써 왕정의 필요성을 제기하고 있다.

 

 

사사기 1:1-2:23

 여호수아 사후, 미정복 지역을 정복하기 위해 유다 지파는 시므온과 연합하여 전쟁을 수행했고 여기서 옷니엘이 큰 활약을 했다. 나머지 지파들도 정복 활동에 나섰으나 대부분 실패하고 가나안 족속들과 타협하여 함께 살면서 그들의 우상을 섬겼다. 이러한 때에 하나님의 사자가 보김에 나타나 이스라엘의 불순종을 책망하며 그들이 쫓아내지 못한 자들로 말미암아 고통당하게 될 것이라고 경고하였다.
  
  계속되는 정복(1:1-1:36)    
 
  1. ヨシュア が 死んだ 後， イスラエル の 人¿は 主に 問うて 言った， 「わたしたちのうち， だれが 先に 攻め 上って， カナン びとと 戰いましょうか 」．
  2. 主は 言われた， 「ユダ が 上るべきである． わたしはこの 國を 彼の 手にわたした 」．
  3. ユダ はその 兄弟 シメオン に 言った， 「わたしと 一緖に， わたしに 割り 當てられた 領地へ 上って 行って， カナン びとと 戰ってください． そうすればわたしもあなたと 一緖に， あなたに 割り 當てられた 領地へ 行きましょう 」． そこで シメオン は 彼と 一緖に 行った．
  4. ユダ が 上って 行くと， 主は 彼らの 手に カナン びとと ペリジ びととをわたされたので， 彼らは ベゼク で 一万人を 擊ち 破り，
  5. また ベゼク で アドニベゼク に 會い， 彼と 戰って カナン びとと ペリジ びととを 擊ち 破った．
  1. After the death of Joshua, the Israelites asked the LORD, "Who will be the first to go up and fight for us against the Canaanites?"
  2. The LORD answered, "Judah is to go; I have given the land into their hands."
  3. Then the men of Judah said to the Simeonites their brothers, "Come up with us into the territory allotted to us, to fight against the Canaanites. We in turn will go with you into yours." So the Simeonites went with them.
  4. When Judah attacked, the LORD gave the Canaanites and Perizzites into their hands and they struck down ten thousand men at Bezek.
  5. It was there that they found Adoni-Bezek and fought against him, putting to rout the Canaanites and Perizzites.

  1. Adoni-Bezek fled, but they chased him and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes.
  2. Then Adoni-Bezek said, "Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off have picked up scraps under my table. Now God has paid me back for what I did to them." They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.
  3. The men of Judah attacked Jerusalem also and took it. They put the city to the sword and set it on fire.
  4. After that, the men of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites living in the hill country, the Negev and the western foothills.
  5. They advanced against the Canaanites living in Hebron (formerly called Kiriath Arba) and defeated Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai.
  1. またそこから 進んで デビル の 住民を 攻めた． （デビル のもとの 名は キリアテ · セペル であった． ）
  2. 時に カレブ は 言った， 「キリアテ · セペル を 擊って， これを 取る 者には， わたしの 娘 アクサ を 妻として 與えるであろう 」．

  1. From there they advanced against the people living in Debir (formerly called Kiriath Sepher).
  2. And Caleb said, "I will give my daughter Acsah in marriage to the man who attacks and captures Kiriath Sepher."
  3. Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it; so Caleb gave his daughter Acsah to him in marriage.
  4. One day when she came to Othniel, she urged him to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, "What can I do for you?"
  5. She replied, "Do me a special favor. Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me also springs of water." Then Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs.

  1. The descendants of Moses' father-in-law, the Kenite, went up from the City of Palms with the men of Judah to live among the people of the Desert of Judah in the Negev near Arad.
  2. Then the men of Judah went with the Simeonites their brothers and attacked the Canaanites living in Zephath, and they totally destroyed the city. Therefore it was called Hormah.
  3. The men of Judah also took Gaza, Ashkelon and Ekron--each city with its territory.
  4. The LORD was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had iron chariots.
  5. As Moses had promised, Hebron was given to Caleb, who drove from it the three sons of Anak.

  1. The Benjamites, however, failed to dislodge the Jebusites, who were living in Jerusalem; to this day the Jebusites live there with the Benjamites.
  2. Now the house of Joseph attacked Bethel, and the LORD was with them.
  3. When they sent men to spy out Bethel (formerly called Luz),
  4. the spies saw a man coming out of the city and they said to him, "Show us how to get into the city and we will see that you are treated well."
  5. So he showed them, and they put the city to the sword but spared the man and his whole family.
  1. その 人は ヘテ びとの 地に 行って 町を 建て， それを ルズ と 名づけた． これは 今日までその 名である．
  2. マナセ は ベテシャン とその 村里の 住民， タアナク とその 村里の 住民， ドル とその 村里の 住民， イブレアム とその 村里の 住民， メギド とその 村里の 住民を 追い 出さなかったので， カナン びとは 引き 續いてその 地に 住んでいたが，

  1. He then went to the land of the Hittites, where he built a city and called it Luz, which is its name to this day.
  2. But Manasseh did not drive out the people of Beth Shan or Taanach or Dor or Ibleam or Megiddo and their surrounding settlements, for the Canaanites were determined to live in that land.
  3. When Israel became strong, they pressed the Canaanites into forced labor but never drove them out completely.
  4. Nor did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites living in Gezer, but the Canaanites continued to live there among them.
  5. Neither did Zebulun drive out the Canaanites living in Kitron or Nahalol, who remained among them; but they did subject them to forced labor.

  1. Nor did Asher drive out those living in Acco or Sidon or Ahlab or Aczib or Helbah or Aphek or Rehob,
  2. and because of this the people of Asher lived among the Canaanite inhabitants of the land.
  3. Neither did Naphtali drive out those living in Beth Shemesh or Beth Anath; but the Naphtalites too lived among the Canaanite inhabitants of the land, and those living in Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath became forced laborers for them.
  4. The Amorites confined the Danites to the hill country, not allowing them to come down into the plain.
  5. And the Amorites were determined also to hold out in Mount Heres, Aijalon and Shaalbim, but when the power of the house of Joseph increased, they too were pressed into forced labor.
  1. アモリ びとの 境は アクラビム の 坂から セラ を 經て 上の 方に 及んだ．
  1. The boundary of the Amorites was from Scorpion Pass to Sela and beyond.
 
  이스라엘의 타락(2:1-2:23)    
 
  1. 主の 使が ギルガル から ボキム に 上って 言った， 「わたしはあなたがたを エジプト から 上らせて， あなたがたの 先祖に 誓った 地に 連れてきて， 言った， 『わたしはあなたと 結んだ 契約を 決して 破ることはない．
  2. あなたがたはこの 國の 住民と 契約を 結んではならない． 彼らの 祭壇をこぼたなければならない 』と． しかし， あなたがたはわたしの 命令に 從わなかった． あなたがたは， なんということをしたのか．
  3. それでわたしは 言う， 『わたしはあなたがたの 前から 彼らを 追い 拂わないであろう． 彼らはかえってあなたがたの 敵となり， 彼らの 神¿はあなたがたのわなとなるであろう 』と 」．
  4. 主の 使がこれらの 言葉を イスラエル のすべての 人¿に 告げたので， 民は 聲をあげて 泣いた．

  1. The angel of the LORD went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said, "I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land that I swore to give to your forefathers. I said, 'I will never break my covenant with you,
  2. and you shall not make a covenant with the people of this land, but you shall break down their altars.' Yet you have disobeyed me. Why have you done this?
  3. Now therefore I tell you that I will not drive them out before you; they will be thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you."
  4. When the angel of the LORD had spoken these things to all the Israelites, the people wept aloud,
  5. and they called that place Bokim. There they offered sacrifices to the LORD.
  1. ヨシュア が 民を 去らせたので， イスラエル の 人¿はおのおのその 領地へ 行って 土地を 獲た．
  2. 民は ヨシュア の 在世中も， また ヨシュア のあとに 生き 殘った 長老たち， すなわち 主がかつて イスラエル のために 行われたすべての 大いなるわざを 見た 人¿の 在世中も 主に 仕えた．
  3. こうして 主のしもべ ヌン の 子 ヨシュア は 百十歲で 死んだ．
  4. 人¿は 彼を エフライム の 山地の ガアシ 山の 北の テムナテ · ヘレス にある 彼の 領地內に 葬った．

  1. After Joshua had dismissed the Israelites, they went to take possession of the land, each to his own inheritance.
  2. The people served the LORD throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had seen all the great things the LORD had done for Israel.
  3. Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the age of a hundred and ten.
  4. And they buried him in the land of his inheritance, at Timnath Heres in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.
  5. After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the LORD nor what he had done for Israel.
  1. イスラエル の 人¿は 主の 前に 惡を 行い， もろもろの バアル に 仕え，
  2. かつて エジプト の 地から 彼らを 導き 出された 先祖たちの 神， 主を 捨てて， ほかの 神¿すなわち 周圍にある 國民の 神¿に 從い， それにひざまずいて， 主の 怒りをひき 起した．
  3. すなわち 彼らは 主を 捨てて， バアル と アシタロテ に 仕えたので，

  1. Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD and served the Baals.
  2. They forsook the LORD, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed and worshiped various gods of the peoples around them. They provoked the LORD to anger
  3. because they forsook him and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.
  4. In his anger against Israel the LORD handed them over to raiders who plundered them. He sold them to their enemies all around, whom they were no longer able to resist.
  5. Whenever Israel went out to fight, the hand of the LORD was against them to defeat them, just as he had sworn to them. They were in great distress.
  1. その 時， 主はさばきづかさを 起して， 彼らをかすめ 奪う 者の 手から 救い 出された．
  2. しかし 彼らはそのさばきづかさにも 從わず， かえってほかの 神¿を 慕ってそれと 姦淫を 行い， それにひざまずき， 先祖たちが 主の 命令に 從って 步んだ 道を， いちはやく 離れ 去って， そのようには 行わなかった．
  3. 主が 彼らのためにさばきづかさを 起されたとき， そのさばきづかさの 在世中， 主はさばきづかさと 共におられて， 彼らを 敵の 手から 救い 出された． これは 彼らが 自分をしえたげ 惱ました 者のゆえに， うめき 悲しんだので， 主が 彼らをあわれまれたからである．
  4. しかしさばきづかさが 死ぬと， 彼らはそむいて， 先祖たちにまさって 惡を 行い， ほかの 神¿に 從ってそれに 仕え， それにひざまずいてそのおこないをやめず， かたくなな 道を 離れなかった．
  5. それで 主は イスラエル に 對し 激しく 怒って 言われた， 「この 民はわたしがかつて 先祖たちに 命じた 契約を 犯し， わたしの 命令に 從わないゆえ，
  1. Then the LORD raised up judges, who saved them out of the hands of these raiders.
  2. Yet they would not listen to their judges but prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped them. Unlike their fathers, they quickly turned from the way in which their fathers had walked, the way of obedience to the LORD's commands.
  3. Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved them out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived; for the LORD had compassion on them as they groaned under those who oppressed and afflicted them.
  4. But when the judge died, the people returned to ways even more corrupt than those of their fathers, following other gods and serving and worshiping them. They refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.
  5. Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel and said, "Because this nation has violated the covenant that I laid down for their forefathers and has not listened to me,
  1. わたしもまた ヨシュア が 死んだときに 殘しておいた 國民を， この 後， 彼らの 前から 追い 拂わないであろう．
  2. これは イスラエル が， 先祖たちの 守ったように 主の 道を 守ってそれに 步むかどうかをわたしが 試みるためである 」．
  3. それゆえ 主はこれらの 國民を 急いで 追い 拂わずに 殘しておいて， ヨシュア の 手にわたされなかったのである．
  1. I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died.
  2. I will use them to test Israel and see whether they will keep the way of the LORD and walk in it as their forefathers did."
  3. The LORD had allowed those nations to remain; he did not drive them out at once by giving them into the hands of Joshua.
 
  사사(士師, 2:16)  원어적 의미는 ‘재판관’이며, 왕이 없는 부족 사회의 정치적, 군사적 지도자를 의미함  
  패괴(悖乖, 2:19)  부패하여 타락함
