- なにゆえ， もろもろの 國民は 言うのでしょう， 「彼らの 神はどこにいるのか 」と．
- われらの 神は 天にいらせられる． 神はみこころにかなうすべての 事を 行われる．
- 彼らの 偶像はしろがねと， こがねで， 人の 手のわざである．
- それは 口があっても 語ることができない． 目があっても 見ることができない．

- Why do the nations say, "Where is their God?"
- Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.
- But their idols are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.
- They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see;

- 耳があっても 聞くことができない． 鼻があってもかぐことができない．
- 手があっても 取ることができない． 足があっても 步くことができない． また， のどから 聲を 出すこともできない．
- これを 造る 者と， これに 信賴する 者とはみな， これと 等しい 者になる．

- they have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but they cannot smell;
- they have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but they cannot walk; nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
- Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.
