- わたしたちは， またもや， 自己推薦をし 始めているのだろうか． それとも， ある 人¿のように， あなたがたにあてた， あるいは， あなたがたからの 推薦狀が 必要なのだろうか．
- わたしたちの 推薦狀は， あなたがたなのである． それは， わたしたちの 心にしるされていて， すべての 人に 知られ， かつ 讀まれている．
- そして， あなたがたは 自分自身が， わたしたちから 送られた キリスト の 手紙であって， 墨によらず 生ける 神の 靈によって 書かれ， 石の 板にではなく 人の 心の 板に 書かれたものであることを， はっきりとあらわしている．
- こうした 確信を， わたしたちは キリスト により 神に 對していだいている．
- もちろん， 自分自身で 事を 定める 力が 自分にある， と 言うのではない． わたしたちのこうした 力は， 神からきている．

- Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you?
- You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody.
- You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
- Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God.
- Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.

- 神はわたしたちに 力を 與えて， 新しい 契約に 仕える 者とされたのである． それは， 文字に 仕える 者ではなく， 靈に 仕える 者である． 文字は 人を 殺し， 靈は 人を 生かす．
- もし 石に 彫りつけた 文字による 死の 務が 榮光のうちに 行われ， そのため イスラエル の 子らは， モ ― セ の 顔の 消え 去るべき 榮光のゆえに， その 顔を 見つめることができなかったとすれば，
- まして 靈の 務は， はるかに 榮光あるものではなかろうか．
- もし 罪を 宣告する 務が 榮光あるものだとすれば， 義を 宣告する 務は， はるかに 榮光に 滿ちたものである．
- そして， すでに 榮光を 受けたものも， この 場合， はるかにまさった 榮光のまえに， その 榮光を 失ったのである．

- He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
- Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was,
- will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?
- If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!
- For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory.

- もし 消え 去るべきものが 榮光をもって 現れたのなら， まして 永存すべきものは， もっと 榮光のあるべきものである．
- こうした 望みをいだいているので， わたしたちは 思いきって 大膽に 語り，
- そして モ ― セ が， 消え 去っていくものの 最後を イスラエル の 子らに 見られまいとして， 顔におおいをかけたようなことはしない．
- 實際， 彼らの 思いは 鈍くなっていた． 今日に 至るまで， 彼らが 古い 契約を 朗讀する 場合， その 同じおおいが 取り 去られないままで 殘っている． それは， キリスト にあってはじめて 取り 除かれるのである．
- 今日に 至るもなお， モ ― セ の 書が 朗讀されるたびに， おおいが 彼らの 心にかかっている．

- And if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!
- Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.
- We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away.
- But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.
- Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.

- しかし 主に 向く 時には， そのおおいは 取り 除かれる．
- 主は 靈である． そして， 主の 靈のあるところには， 自由がある．
- わたしたちはみな， 顔おおいなしに， 主の 榮光を 鏡に 映すように 見つつ， 榮光から 榮光へと， 主と 同じ 姿に 變えられていく． これは 靈なる 主の ¿きによるのである．

- But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
- Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
- And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
