	갈라디아서 4:21-5:12 성도들은 하나님의 약속의 자녀들임을 주장하면서 예수님으로부터 받은 자유를 굳세게 유지하여 다시는 노예의 상태로 되돌아가지 말라고 바울은 권면하였다. 그리고 예수님 안에는 오직 사랑으로 역사하는 참믿음만이 존재한다고 하였다.

	약속의 자녀(4:21-4:31)

律法の下にとどまっていたいと思う人たちよ．わたしに答えなさい．あなたがたは律法の言うところを聞かないのか．

そのしるすところによると，アブラハムにふたりの子があったが，ひとりは女奴隷から，ひとりは自由の女から生れた．

女奴隷の子は肉によって生れたのであり，自由の女の子は約束によって生れたのであった．

さて，この物語は比喩としてみられる．すなわち，この女たちは二つの契約をさす．そのひとりはシナイ山から出て，奴隷となる者を産む．ハガルがそれである．

ハガルといえば，アラビヤではシナイ山のことで，今のエルサレムに當る．なぜなら，それは子たちと共に，奴隷となっているからである．

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says?

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.

His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.

These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar.

Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children.

しかし，上なるエルサレムは，自由の女であって，わたしたちの母をさす．

すなわち，こう書いてある，／「喜べ，不妊の女よ．聲をあげて喜べ，産みの苦しみを知らない女よ．ひとり者となっている女は多くの子を産み，／その數は，夫ある女の子らよりも多い」．

兄弟たちよ．あなたがたは，イサクのように，約束の子である．

しかし，その當時，肉によって生れた者が，靈によって生れた者を迫害したように，今でも同樣である．

しかし，聖書はなんと言っているか．「女奴隷とその子とを追い出せ．女奴隷の子は，自由の女の子と共に相續をしてはならない」とある．

But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

For it is written: "Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have no labor pains; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband."

Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.

At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.

But what does the Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son."

だから，兄弟たちよ．わたしたちは女奴隷の子ではなく，自由の女の子なのである．

Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

	종의 멍에를 메지 말라(5:1-5:12)

自由を得させるために，キリストはわたしたちを解放して下さったのである．だから，堅く立って，二度と奴隷のくびきにつながれてはならない．

見よ，このパウロがあなたがたに言う．もし割禮を受けるなら，キリストはあなたがたに用のないものになろう．

割禮を受けようとするすべての人たちに，もう一度言っておく．そういう人たちは，律法の全部を行う義務がある．

律法によって義とされようとするあなたがたは，キリストから離れてしまっている．惠みから落ちている．

わたしたちは，御靈の助けにより，信仰によって義とされる望みを强くいだいている．

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.

Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.

You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope.

キリスト · イエスにあっては，割禮があってもなくても，問題ではない．尊いのは，愛によって ¿く信仰だけである．

あなたがたはよく走り續けてきたのに，だれが邪魔をして，眞理にそむかせたのか．

そのような勸誘は，あなたがたを召されたかたから出たものではない．

少しのパン種でも，粉のかたまり全體をふくらませる．

あなたがたはいささかもわたしと違った思いをいだくことはないと，主にあって信賴している．しかし，あなたがたを動¿させている者は，それがだれであろうと，さばきを受けるであろう．

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth?

That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.

"A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough."

I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion will pay the penalty, whoever he may be.

兄弟たちよ．わたしがもし今でも割禮を宣べ傳えていたら，どうして，いまなお迫害されるはずがあろうか．そうしていたら，十字架のつまずきは，なくなっているであろう．

あなたがたの �動者どもは，自ら去勢してしまうがよかろう．

Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.

As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!
