- このようにして， 一方では， 前の 戒めが 弱くかつ 無益であったために 無效になると 共に，
- （律法は， 何事をも 全うし 得なかったからである ）， 他方では， さらにすぐれた 望みが 現れてきて， わたしたちを 神に 近づかせるのである．
- その 上に， このことは 誓いをもってなされた． 人¿は， 誓いをしないで 祭司とされるのであるが，
- この 人の 場合は， 次のような 誓いをもってされたのである． すなわち， 彼について， こう 言われている， 「主は 誓われたが， 心を 變えることをされなかった． あなたこそは， 永遠に 祭司である 」．
- このようにして， イエス は 更にすぐれた 契約の 保證となられたのである．

- The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless
- (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
- And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath,
- but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him: "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: 'You are a priest forever.' "
- Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.

- かつ， 死ということがあるために， 務を 續けることができないので， 多くの 人¿が 祭司に 立てられるのである．
- しかし 彼は， 永遠にいますかたであるので， 變らない 祭司の 務を 持ちつづけておられるのである．
- そこでまた， 彼は， いつも 生きていて 彼らのためにとりなしておられるので， 彼によって 神に 來る 人¿を， いつも 救うことができるのである．
- このように， 聖にして， 惡も 汚れもなく， 罪人とは 區別され， かつ， もろもろの 天よりも 高くされている 大祭司こそ， わたしたちにとってふさわしいかたである．
- 彼は， ほかの 大祭司のように， まず 自分の 罪のため， 次に 民の 罪のために， 日¿， いけにえをささげる 必要はない． なぜなら， 自分をささげて， 一度だけ， それをされたからである．

- Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office;
- but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
- Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
- Such a high priest meets our need--one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
- Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.

- 律法は， 弱さを 身に 負う 人間を 立てて 大祭司とするが， 律法の 後にきた 誓いの 御言は， 永遠に 全うされた 御子を 立てて， 大祭司としたのである．
