- イエス はこの 群衆を 見て， 山に 登り， 座につかれると， 弟子たちがみもとに 近寄ってきた．
- そこで， イエス は 口を 開き， 彼らに 敎えて 言われた．
- 「こころの 貧しい 人たちは， さいわいである， 天國は 彼らのものである．
- 悲しんでいる 人たちは， さいわいである， 彼らは 慰められるであろう．
- 柔和な 人たちは， さいわいである， 彼らは 地を 受けつぐであろう．

- And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
- And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
- Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
- Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

- 義に 飢えかわいている 人たちは， さいわいである， 彼らは 飽き 足りるようになるであろう．
- あわれみ 深い 人たちは， さいわいである， 彼らはあわれみを 受けるであろう．
- 心の 淸い 人たちは， さいわいである， 彼らは 神を 見るであろう．
- 平和をつくり 出す 人たちは， さいわいである， 彼らは 神の 子と 呼ばれるであろう．
- 義のために 迫害されてきた 人たちは， さいわいである， 天國は 彼らのものである．

- Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
- Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
- Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
- Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
- Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

- わたしのために 人¿があなたがたをののしり， また 迫害し， あなたがたに 對し 僞って 樣¿の 惡口を 言う 時には， あなたがたは， さいわいである．
- 喜び， よろこべ， 天においてあなたがたの 受ける 報いは 大きい． あなたがたより 前の 預言者たちも， 同じように 迫害されたのである．
- あなたがたは， 地の 鹽である． もし 鹽のききめがなくなったら， 何によってその 味が 取りもどされようか． もはや， なんの 役にも 立たず， ただ 外に 捨てられて， 人¿にふみつけられるだけである．
- あなたがたは， 世の 光である． 山の 上にある 町は 隱れることができない．
- また， あかりをつけて， それを ¿の 下におく 者はいない． むしろ 燭台の 上において， 家の 中のすべてのものを 照させるのである．

- Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
- Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
- Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
- Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
- Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

- そのように， あなたがたの 光を 人¿の 前に 輝かし， そして， 人¿があなたがたのよいおこないを 見て， 天にいますあなたがたの 父をあがめるようにしなさい．
- わたしが 律法や 預言者を 廢するためにきた， と 思ってはならない． 廢するためではなく， 成就するためにきたのである．
- よく 言っておく． 天地が 滅び 行くまでは， 律法の 一点， 一畵もすたることはなく， ことごとく 全うされるのである．
- それだから， これらの 最も 小さいいましめの 一つでも 破り， またそうするように 人に 敎えたりする 者は， 天國で 最も 小さい 者と 呼ばれるであろう． しかし， これをおこないまたそう 敎える 者は， 天國で 大いなる 者と 呼ばれるであろう．
- わたしは 言っておく． あなたがたの 義が 律法學者や パリサイ 人の 義にまさっていなければ， 決して 天國に， はいることはできない．

- Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
- Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
- For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
- Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
- For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

- 昔の 人¿に『殺すな． 殺す 者は 裁判を 受けねばならない 』と 言われていたことは， あなたがたの 聞いているところである．
- しかし， わたしはあなたがたに 言う． 兄弟に 對して 怒る 者は， だれでも 裁判を 受けねばならない． 兄弟にむかって 愚か 者と 言う 者は， 議會に 引きわたされるであろう． また， ばか 者と 言う 者は， 地獄の 火に 投げ ¿まれるであろう．
- だから， 祭壇に 供え 物をささげようとする 場合， 兄弟が 自分に 對して 何かうらみをいだいていることを， そこで 思い 出したなら，
- その 供え 物を 祭壇の 前に 殘しておき， まず 行ってその 兄弟と 和解し， それから 歸ってきて， 供え 物をささげることにしなさい．
- あなたを 訴える 者と 一緖に 道を 行く 時には， その 途中で 早く 仲直りをしなさい． そうしないと， その 訴える 者はあなたを 裁判官にわたし， 裁判官は 下役にわたし， そして， あなたは 獄に 入れられるであろう．

- Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
- But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
- Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
- Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
- Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

- よくあなたに 言っておく． 最後の 一 コドラント を 支拂ってしまうまでは， 決してそこから 出てくることはできない．

- Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
