- そこで 天國は， 十人のおとめがそれぞれあかりを 手にして， 花¿を 迎えに 出て 行くのに 似ている．
- その 中の 五人は 思慮が 淺く， 五人は 思慮深い 者であった．
- 思慮の 淺い 者たちは， あかりは 持っていたが， 油を 用意していなかった．
- しかし， 思慮深い 者たちは， 自分たちのあかりと 一緖に， 入れものの 中に 油を 用意していた．
- 花¿の 來るのがおくれたので， 彼らはみな 居眠りをして， 寢てしまった．

- Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
- And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
- They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
- But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
- While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

- 夜中に， 『さあ， 花¿だ， 迎えに 出なさい 』と 叫ぶ 聲がした．
- そのとき， おとめたちはみな 起きて， それぞれあかりを 整えた．
- ところが， 思慮の 淺い 女たちが， 思慮深い 女たちに 言った， 『あなたがたの 油をわたしたちにわけてください． わたしたちのあかりが 消えかかっていますから 』．
- すると， 思慮深い 女たちは 答えて 言った， 『わたしたちとあなたがたとに 足りるだけは， 多分ないでしょう． 店に 行って， あなたがたの 分をお 買いになる 方がよいでしょう 』．
- 彼らが 買いに 出ているうちに， 花¿が 着いた． そこで， 用意のできていた 女たちは， 花¿と 一緖に 婚宴のへやにはいり， そして 戶がしめられた．

- And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
- Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
- And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
- But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
- And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

- そのあとで， ほかのおとめたちもきて， 『ご 主人樣， ご 主人樣， どうぞ， あけてください 』と 言った．
- しかし 彼は 答えて， 『はっきり 言うが， わたしはあなたがたを 知らない 』と 言った．
- だから， 目をさましていなさい． その 日その 時が， あなたがたにはわからないからである．
- また 天國は， ある 人が 旅に 出るとき， その 僕どもを 呼んで， 自分の 財産を 預けるようなものである．
- すなわち， それぞれの 能力に 應じて， ある 者には 五 タラント ， ある 者には 二 タラント ， ある 者には 一 タラント を 與えて， 旅に 出た．

- Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
- But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
- Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
- For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
- And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

- 五 タラント を 渡された 者は， すぐに 行って， それで 商賣をして， ほかに 五 タラント をもうけた．
- 二 タラント の 者も 同樣にして， ほかに 二 タラント をもうけた．
- しかし， 一 タラント を 渡された 者は， 行って 地を 掘り， 主人の 金を 隱しておいた．
- だいぶ 時がたってから， これらの 僕の 主人が 歸ってきて， 彼らと 計算をしはじめた．
- すると 五 タラント を 渡された 者が 進み 出て， ほかの 五 タラント をさし 出して 言った， 『ご 主人樣， あなたはわたしに 五 タラント をお 預けになりましたが， ごらんのとおり， ほかに 五 タラント をもうけました 』．

- Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
- And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
- But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
- After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
- And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

- 主人は 彼に 言った， 『良い 忠實な 僕よ， よくやった． あなたはわずかなものに 忠實であったから， 多くのものを 管理させよう． 主人と 一緖に 喜んでくれ 』．
- 二 タラント の 者も 進み 出て 言った， 『ご 主人樣， あなたはわたしに 二 タラント をお 預けになりましたが， ごらんのとおり， ほかに 二 タラント をもうけました 』．
- 主人は 彼に 言った， 『良い 忠實な 僕よ， よくやった． あなたはわずかなものに 忠實であったから， 多くのものを 管理させよう． 主人と 一緖に 喜んでくれ 』．
- 一 タラント を 渡された 者も 進み 出て 言った， 『ご 主人樣， わたしはあなたが， まかない 所から 刈り， 散らさない 所から 集める 酷な 人であることを 承知していました．
- そこで 恐ろしさのあまり， 行って， あなたの タラント を 地の 中に 隱しておきました． ごらんください． ここにあなたのお 金がございます 』．

- His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
- He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
- His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
- Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
- And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

- すると， 主人は 彼に 答えて 言った， 『惡い 怠惰な 僕よ， あなたはわたしが， まかない 所から 刈り， 散らさない 所から 集めることを 知っているのか．
- それなら， わたしの 金を 銀行に 預けておくべきであった． そうしたら， わたしは 歸ってきて， 利子と 一緖にわたしの 金を 返してもらえたであろうに．
- さあ， その タラント をこの 者から 取りあげて， 十 タラント を 持っている 者にやりなさい．
- おおよそ， 持っている 人は 與えられて， いよいよ 豊かになるが， 持っていない 人は， 持っているものまでも 取り 上げられるであろう．
- この 役に 立たない 僕を 外の 暗い 所に 追い 出すがよい． 彼は， そこで 泣き 叫んだり， 齒がみをしたりするであろう 』．

- His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
- Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
- Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
- For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
- And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
