- さて， パリサイ 人と， ある 律法學者たちとが， エルサレム からきて， イエス のもとに 集まった．
- そして 弟子たちのうちに， 不淨な 手， すなわち 洗わない 手で， パン を 食べている 者があるのを 見た．
- もともと， パリサイ 人をはじめ ユダヤ 人はみな， 昔の 人の 言傳えをかたく 守って， 念入りに 手を 洗ってからでないと， 食事をしない．
- また 市場から 歸ったときには， 身を 淸めてからでないと， 食事をせず， なおそのほかにも， 杯， 鉢， 銅器を 洗うことなど， 昔から 受けついでかたく 守っている 事が， たくさんあった．
- そこで， パリサイ 人と 律法學者たちとは， イエス に 尋ねた， 「なぜ， あなたの 弟子たちは， 昔の 人の 言傳えに 從って 步まないで， 不淨な 手で パン を 食べるのですか 」．

- Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
- And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
- For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
- And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
- Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

- イエス は 言われた， 「イザヤ は， あなたがた 僞善者について， こう 書いているが， それは 適切な 預言である， 『この 民は， 口さきではわたしを 敬うが， その 心はわたしから 遠く 離れている．
- 人間のいましめを 敎として 敎え， 無意味にわたしを 拜んでいる 』．
- あなたがたは， 神のいましめをさしおいて， 人間の 言傳えを 固執している 」．
- また， 言われた， 「あなたがたは， 自分たちの 言傳えを 守るために， よくも 神のいましめを 捨てたものだ．
- モ ― セ は 言ったではないか， 『父と 母とを 敬え 』， また『父または 母をののしる 者は， 必ず 死に 定められる 』と．

- He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
- Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
- For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
- And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
- For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

- それだのに， あなたがたは， もし 人が 父または 母にむかって， あなたに 差上げるはずのこのものは コルバン ， すなわち， 供え 物ですと 言えば， それでよいとして，
- その 人は 父母に 對して， もう 何もしないで 濟むのだと 言っている．
- こうしてあなたがたは， 自分たちが 受けついだ 言傳えによって， 神の 言を 無にしている． また， このような 事をしばしばおこなっている 」．
- それから， イエス は 再び 群衆を 呼び 寄せて 言われた， 「あなたがたはみんな， わたしの 言うことを 聞いて 悟るがよい．
- すべて 外から 人の 中にはいって， 人をけがしうるものはない． かえって， 人の 中から 出てくるものが， 人をけがすのである．

- But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
- And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
- Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
- And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
- There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

- 〔聞く 耳のある 者は 聞くがよい 〕」．
- イエス が 群衆を 離れて 家にはいられると， 弟子たちはこの ·について 尋ねた．
- すると， 言われた， 「あなたがたも， そんなに 鈍いのか． すべて， 外から 人の 中にはいって 來るものは， 人を 汚し 得ないことが， わからないのか．
- それは 人の 心の 中にはいるのではなく， 腹の 中にはいり， そして， 外に 出て 行くだけである 」． イエス はこのように， どんな 食物でもきよいものとされた．
- さらに 言われた， 「人から 出て 來るもの， それが 人をけがすのである．

- If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
- And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
- And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
- Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
- And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

- すなわち 內部から， 人の 心の 中から， 惡い 思いが 出て 來る． 不品行， 盜み， 殺人，
- 姦淫， ·欲， 邪惡， 欺き， 好色， 妬み， 誹り， 高慢， 愚痴．
- これらの 惡はすべて 內部から 出てきて， 人をけがすのである 」．

- For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
- Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
- All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
