- また， アセル 族の パヌエル の 娘で， アンナ という 女預言者がいた． 彼女は 非常に 年をとっていた． むすめ 時代にとついで， 七年間だけ 夫と 共に 住み，
- その 後やもめぐらしをし， 八十四歲になっていた． そして 宮を 離れずに 夜も ¿も 斷食と 祈とをもって 神に 仕えていた．
- この 老女も， ちょうどそのとき 近寄ってきて， 神に 感謝をささげ， そしてこの 幼な 子のことを， エルサレム の 救を 待ち 望んでいるすべての 人¿に 語りきかせた．
- 兩親は 主の 律法どおりすべての 事をすませたので， ガリラヤ へむかい， 自分の 町 ナザレ に 歸った．
- 幼な 子は， ますます 成長して 强くなり， 知惠に 滿ち， そして 神の 惠みがその 上にあった．

- And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
- And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
- And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
- And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
- And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

- さて， イエス の 兩親は， 過越の 祭には 每年 エルサレム へ 上っていた．
- イエス が 十二歲になった 時も， 慣例に 從って 祭のために 上京した．
- ところが， 祭が 終って 歸るとき， 少年 イエス は エルサレム に 居殘っておられたが， 兩親はそれに 氣づかなかった．
- そして 道連れの 中にいることと 思いこんで， 一日路を 行ってしまい， それから， 親族や 知人の 中を 搜しはじめたが，
- 見つからないので， 搜しまわりながら エルサレム へ 引返した．

- Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
- And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
- And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
- But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
- And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

- そして 三日の 後に， イエス が 宮の 中で 敎師たちのまん 中にすわって， 彼らの 話を 聞いたり 質問したりしておられるのを 見つけた．
- 聞く 人¿はみな， イエス の 賢さやその 答に 驚嘆していた．
- 兩親はこれを 見て 驚き， そして 母が 彼に 言った， 「どうしてこんな 事をしてくれたのです． ごらんなさい， おとう 樣もわたしも 心配して， あなたを 搜していたのです 」．
- すると イエス は 言われた， 「どうしてお 搜しになったのですか． わたしが 自分の 父の 家にいるはずのことを， ご 存じなかったのですか 」．
- しかし， 兩親はその 語られた 言葉を 悟ることができなかった．

- And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
- And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
- And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
- And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
- And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

- それから イエス は 兩親と 一緖に ナザレ に 下って 行き， 彼らにお 仕えになった． 母はこれらの 事をみな 心に 留めていた．
- イエス はますます 知惠が 加わり， 背たけも 伸び， そして 神と 人から 愛された．

- And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
- And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
