신명기 12:29-14:29

 모세는 우상 숭배에 대해 거듭 경고하며 거짓 선지자와 가족, 친구들의 우상 숭배 유혹에 빠지지 말 것과 우상을 숭배하는 성읍을 멸할 것을 명령했다. 그리고 거룩한 백성이 먹을 수 있는 것과 먹을 수 없는 것을 규정하여 성결한 삶을 살 것과 십일조를 드릴 것을 교훈했다. 아울러 그들과 더불어 사는 레위인과 객과 고아와 과부들을 돌아볼 것을 권면했다.
  
  우상 숭배 금지(12:29-13:18)    
 
  1. あなたの 神， 主が， あなたの 行って 追い 拂おうとする 國¿の 民を， あなたの 前から 斷ち 滅ぼされ， あなたがついにその 國¿を 獲て， その 地に 住むようになる 時，
  2. あなたはみずから 愼み， 彼らがあなたの 前から 滅ぼされた 後， 彼らにならって， わなにかかってはならない． また 彼らの 神¿を 尋ね 求めて， 『これらの 國¿の 民はどのようにその 神¿に 仕えたのか， わたしもそのようにしよう 』と 言ってはならない．
  3. あなたの 神， 主に 對しては， そのようにしてはならない． 彼らは 主の 憎まれるもろもろの 忌むべき 事を， その 神¿にむかって 行い， むすこ， 娘をさえ 火に 燒いて， 神¿にささげたからである．
  4. あなたがたはわたしが 命じるこのすべての 事を 守って 行わなければならない． これにつけ 加えてはならない． また 減らしてはならない．
  1. When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;
  2. Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
  3. Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
  4. What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
 
 
  1. あなたがたのうちに 預言者または 夢みる 者が 起って， しるしや 奇跡を 示し，
  2. あなたに 告げるそのしるしや 奇跡が 實現して， あなたがこれまで 知らなかった『ほかの 神¿に， われわれは 從い 仕えよう 』と 言っても，
  3. あなたはその 預言者または 夢みる 者の 言葉に 聞き 從ってはならない． あなたがたの 神， 主はあなたがたが 心をつくし， 精神をつくして， あなたがたの 神， 主を 愛するか， どうかを 知ろうと， このようにあなたがたを 試みられるからである．
  4. あなたがたの 神， 主に 從って 步み， 彼を 恐れ， その 戒めを 守り， その 言葉に 聞き 從い， 彼に 仕え， 彼につき 從わなければならない．
  5. その 預言者または 夢みる 者を 殺さなければならない． あなたがたを エジプト の 國から 導き 出し， 奴隷の 家からあがなわれたあなたがたの 神， 主にあなたがたをそむかせ， あなたの 神， 主が 步めと 命じられた 道を 離れさせようとして 語るゆえである． こうしてあなたがたのうちから 惡を 除き 去らなければならない．
  1. If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
  2. And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
  3. Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
  4. Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
  5. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
  1. 同じ 母に 生れたあなたの 兄弟， またはあなたのむすこ， 娘， またはあなたのふところの 妻， またはあなたと 身命を 共にする 友が， ひそかに 誘って『われわれは 行って 他の 神¿に 仕えよう 』と 言うかも 知れない． これはあなたも 先祖たちも 知らなかった 神¿，
  2. すなわち 地のこのはてから， 地のかのはてまで， あるいは 近く， あるいは 遠く， あなたの 周圍にある 民の 神¿である．
  3. しかし， あなたはその 人に 從ってはならない． その 人の 言うことを 聞いてはならない． その 人をあわれんではならない． その 人を 惜しんではならない． その 人をかばってはならない．

  1. If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
  2. Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
  3. Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
  4. But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
  5. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
  1. そうすれば イスラエル は 皆聞いて 恐れ， 重ねてこのような 惡い 事を， あなたがたのうちに 行わないであろう．
  2. あなたの 神， 主があなたに 與えて 住まわせられる 町の 一つで，
  3. よこしまな 人¿があなたがたのうちに 起って， あなたがたの 知らなかった『ほかの 神¿に， われわれは 行って 仕えよう 』と 言って， その 町に 住む 人¿を 誘惑したことを 聞くならば，
  4. あなたはそれを 尋ね， 探り， よく 問いたださなければならない． そして， そのような 憎むべき 事があなたがたのうちに 行われた 事が， 眞實で， 確かならば，
  5. あなたは 必ず， その 町に 住む 者をつるぎの 刃にかけて 擊ち 殺し， その 町と， そのうちにおるすべての 者， およびその 家畜をつるぎの 刃にかけて， ことごとく 滅ぼさなければならない．
  1. And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.
  2. If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
  3. Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
  4. Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;
  5. Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
  1. またそのすべてのぶんどり 物は， 町の 廣場の 中央に 集め， 火をもってその 町と， すべてのぶんどり 物とを， ことごとく 燒いて， あなたの 神， 主にささげなければならない． これはながく 荒塚となって， 再び 建て 直されないであろう．
  2. そののろわれた 物は 一つもあなたの 手に 留めおいてはならない． 主が 激しい 怒りをやめ， あなたに 慈悲を 施して， あなたをあわれみ， 先祖たちに 誓われたように， あなたの 數を 多くされるためである．
  3. あなたの 神， 主の 言葉に 聞き 從い， わたしが， きょう， 命じるすべての 戒めを 守り， あなたの 神， 主が 正しいと 見られる 事を 行うならば， このようになるであろう．
  1. And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
  2. And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;
  3. When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.
 
  정한 것과 부정한 것(14:1-14:29)    
 
  1. あなたがたはあなたがたの 神， 主の 子供である． 死んだ 人のために 自分の 身に 傷をつけてはならない． また 額の 髮をそってはならない．
  2. あなたはあなたの 神， 主の 聖なる 民だからである． 主は 地のおもてのすべての 民のうちからあなたを 選んで， 自分の 寶の 民とされた．
  3. 忌むべき 物は， どんなものでも 食べてはならない．
  4. あなたがたの 食べることができる ¿は 次のとおりである． すなわち 牛， 羊， やぎ，
  5. 雄じか， かもしか， こじか， 野やぎ， くじか， おおじか， 野羊など，
  1. Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
  2. For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
  3. Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
  4. These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
  5. The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.
  1. ¿のうち， すべて， ひずめの 分れたもの， ひずめが 二つに 切れたもので， 反 ·するものは 食べることができる．
  2. ただし， 反 ·するものと， ひずめの 分れたもののうち， 次のものは 食べてはならない． すなわち， らくだ， 野うさぎ， および 岩だぬき， これらは 反 ·するけれども， ひずめが 分れていないから 汚れたものである．

  1. And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.
  2. Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
  3. And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
  4. These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
  5. And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.
  1. すべて 淸い 鳥は 食べることができる．
  2. ただし， 次のものは 食べてはならない． すなわち， はげわし， ひげはげわし， みさご，
  3. 黑とび， はやぶさ， とびの 類．
  4. 各種のからすの 類．

  1. Of all clean birds ye shall eat.
  2. But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
  3. And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
  4. And every raven after his kind,
  5. And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
  1. ふくろう， みみずく， むらさきばん，
  2. ペリカン ， はげたか， う，
  3. こうのとり， さぎの 類． やつがしら， こうもり．
  4. またすべて 羽があって 這うものは 汚れたものである． それを 食べてはならない．
  5. すべて 翼のある 淸いものは 食べることができる．
  1. The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
  2. And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,
  3. And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
  4. And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.
  5. But of all clean fowls ye may eat.
  1. すべて 自然に 死んだものは 食べてはならない． 町の 內におる 寄留の 他國人に， それを 與えて 食べさせることができる． またそれを 外國人に 賣ってもよい． あなたはあなたの 神， 主の 聖なる 民だからである． 子やぎをその 母の 乳で 煮てはならない．
  2. あなたは 每年， 畑に 種をまいて 獲るすべての 産物の 十分の 一を 必ず 取り 分けなければならない．
  3. そしてあなたの 神， 主の 前， すなわち 主がその 名を 置くために 選ばれる 場所で， 穀物と， ぶどう 酒と， 油との 十分の 一と， 牛， 羊のういごを 食べ， こうして 常にあなたの 神， 主を 恐れることを 學ばなければならない．
  4. ただし， その 道があまりに 遠く， あなたの 神， 主がその 名を 置くために 選ばれる 場所が， 非常に 遠く 離れていて， あなたの 神， 主があなたを 惠まれるとき， それを 携えて 行くことができないならば，

  1. Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
  2. Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
  3. And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.
  4. And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
  5. Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
  1. その 金をすべてあなたの 好む 物に 換えなければならない． すなわち 牛， 羊， ぶどう 酒， 濃い 酒など， すべてあなたの 欲する 物に 換え， その 所であなたの 神， 主の 前でそれを 食べ， 家族と 共に 樂しまなければならない．
  2. 町の 內におる レビ びとを 捨ててはならない． 彼はあなたがたのうちに 分がなく， 嗣業を 持たない 者だからである．
  3. 三年の 終りごとに， その 年の 産物の 十分の 一を， ことごとく 持ち 出して， 町の 內にたくわえ，
  4. あなたがたのうちに 分け 前がなく， 嗣業を 持たない レビ びと， および 町の 內におる 寄留の 他國人と， 孤兒と， 寡婦を 呼んで， それを 食べさせ， 滿足させなければならない． そうすれば， あなたの 神， 主はあなたが 手で 行うすべての 事にあなたを 祝福されるであろう．
  1. And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
  2. And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
  3. At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
  4. And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
