- 神は 正しい 者にむかい， 心の 淸い 者にむかって， まことに 惠みふかい．
- しかし， わたしは， わたしの 足がつまずくばかり， わたしの 步みがすべるばかりであった．
- これはわたしが， 惡しき 者の 榮えるのを 見て， その 高ぶる 者をねたんだからである．
- 彼らには 苦しみがなく， その 身はすこやかで， つやがあり，
- ほかの 人¿のように 惱むことがなく， ほかの 人¿のように 打たれることはない．

- Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
- But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
- For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
- For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
- They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

- それゆえ 高慢は 彼らの 首飾となり， 暴力は 衣のように 彼らをおおっている．
- 彼らは 肥え 太って， その 目はとびいで， その 心は 愚かな 思いに 滿ちあふれている．
- 彼らはあざけり， 惡意をもって 語り， 高ぶって， しえたげを 語る．
- 彼らはその 口を 天にさからって 置き， その 舌は 地をあるきまわる．
- それゆえ 民は 心を 變えて 彼らをほめたたえ， 彼らのうちにあやまちを 認めない．

- Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
- Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
- They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
- They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
- Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

- 彼らは 言う， 「神はどうして 知り 得ようか， いと 高き 者に 知識があろうか 」と．
- 見よ， これらは 惡しき 者であるのに， 常に 安らかで， その 富が 增し 加わる．
- まことに， わたしはいたずらに 心をきよめ， 罪を 犯すことなく 手を 洗った．
- わたしはひねもす 打たれ， 朝ごとに 懲らしめをうけた．

- And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
- Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
- Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
- For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
