- そののち， イエス は ガリラヤ の 海， すなわち， テベリヤ 湖の 向こう 岸へ 渡られた．
- すると， 大ぜいの 群衆が イエス についてきた． 病人たちになさっていたしるしを 見たからである．
- イエス は 山に 登って， 弟子たちと 一緖にそこで 座につかれた．
- 時に， ユダヤ 人の 祭である 過越が 間近になっていた．
- イエス は 目をあげ， 大ぜいの 群衆が 自分の 方に 集まって 來るのを 見て， ピリポ に 言われた， 「どこから パン を 買ってきて， この 人¿に 食べさせようか 」．

- After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.
- And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.
- And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
- And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
- When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

- これは ピリポ をためそうとして 言われたのであって， ご 自分ではしようとすることを， よくご 承知であった．
- すると， ピリポ は イエス に 答えた， 「二百 デナリ の パン があっても， めいめいが 少しずついただくにも 足りますまい 」．
- 弟子のひとり， シモン · ペテロ の 兄弟 アンデレ が イエス に 言った，
- 「ここに， 大麥の パン 五つと， さかな 二ひきとを 持っている 子供がいます． しかし， こんなに 大ぜいの 人では， それが 何になりましょう 」．
- イエス は「人¿をすわらせなさい 」と 言われた． その 場所には 草が 多かった． そこにすわった 男の 數は 五千人ほどであった．

- And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
- Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
- One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,
- There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
- And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

- そこで， イエス は パン を 取り， 感謝してから， すわっている 人¿に 分け 與え， また， さかなをも 同樣にして， 彼らの 望むだけ 分け 與えられた．
- 人¿がじゅうぶんに 食べたのち， イエス は 弟子たちに 言われた， 「少しでもむだにならないように， パン くずのあまりを 集めなさい 」．
- そこで 彼らが 集めると， 五つの 大麥の パン を 食べて 殘った パン くずは， 十二のかごにいっぱいになった．
- 人¿は イエス のなさったこのしるしを 見て， 「ほんとうに， この 人こそ 世にきたるべき 預言者である 」と 言った．
- イエス は 人¿がきて， 自分をとらえて 王にしようとしていると 知って， ただひとり， また 山に 退かれた．

- And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
- When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
- Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.
- Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
- When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

- 夕方になったとき， 弟子たちは 海 ベ に 下り，
- 舟に 乘って 海を 渡り， 向こう 岸の カペナウム に 行きかけた． すでに 暗くなっていたのに， イエス はまだ 彼らのところにおいでにならなかった．
- その 上， 强い 風が 吹いてきて， 海は 荒れ 出した．
- 四， 五十丁こぎ 出したとき， イエス が 海の 上を 步いて 舟に 近づいてこられるのを 見て， 彼らは 恐れた．
- すると， イエス は 彼らに 言われた， 「わたしだ， 恐れることはない 」．

- And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,
- And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
- And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.
- So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
- But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

- そこで， 彼らは 喜んで イエス を 舟に 迎えようとした． すると 舟は， すぐ， 彼らが 行こうとしていた 地に 着いた．

- Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
