- そこで ピラト は， イエス を 捕え， むちで 打たせた．
- 兵卒たちは， いばらで 冠をあんで， イエス の 頭にかぶらせ， 紫の 上着を 着せ，
- それから， その 前に 進み 出て， 「ユダヤ 人の 王， ばんざい 」と 言った． そして 平手で イエス を 打ちつづけた．
- すると ピラト は， また 出て 行って ユダヤ 人たちに 言った， 「見よ， わたしはこの 人をあなたがたの 前に 引き 出すが， それはこの 人になんの 罪も 見いだせないことを， あなたがたに 知ってもらうためである 」．
- イエス はいばらの 冠をかぶり， 紫の 上着を 着たままで 外へ 出られると， ピラト は 彼らに 言った， 「見よ， この 人だ 」．

- Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
- And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
- And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
- Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
- Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

- 祭司長たちや 下役どもは イエス を 見ると， 叫んで「十字架につけよ， 十字架につけよ 」と 言った． ピラト は 彼らに 言った， 「あなたがたが， この 人を 引き 取って 十字架につけるがよい． わたしは， 彼にはなんの 罪も 見いだせない 」．
- ユダヤ 人たちは 彼に 答えた， 「わたしたちには 律法があります． その 律法によれば， 彼は 自分を 神の 子としたのだから， 死罪に 當る 者です 」．
- ピラト がこの 言葉を 聞いたとき， ますますおそれ，
- もう 一度官邸にはいって イエス に 言った， 「あなたは， もともと， どこからきたのか 」． しかし， イエス はなんの 答もなさらなかった．
- そこで ピラト は 言った， 「何も 答えないのか． わたしには， あなたを 許す 權威があり， また 十字架につける 權威があることを， 知らないのか 」．

- When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
- The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
- When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
- And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
- Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

- イエス は 答えられた， 「あなたは， 上から 賜わるのでなければ， わたしに 對してなんの 權威もない． だから， わたしをあなたに 引き 渡した 者の 罪は， もっと 大きい 」．
- これを 聞いて， ピラト は イエス を 許そうと 努めた． しかし ユダヤ 人たちが 叫んで 言った， 「もしこの 人を 許したなら， あなたは カイザル の 味方ではありません． 自分を 王とするものはすべて， カイザル にそむく 者です 」．
- ピラト はこれらの 言葉を 聞いて， イエス を 外へ 引き 出して 行き， 敷石（ヘブル 語では ガバタ ）という 場所で 裁判の 席についた．
- その 日は 過越の 準備の 日であって， 時は ¿の 十二時ころであった． ピラト は ユダヤ 人らに 言った， 「見よ， これがあなたがたの 王だ 」．
- すると 彼らは 叫んだ， 「殺せ， 殺せ， 彼を 十字架につけよ 」． ピラト は 彼らに 言った， 「あなたがたの 王を， わたしが 十字架につけるのか 」． 祭司長たちは 答えた， 「わたしたちには， カイザル 以外に 王はありません 」．

- Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
- And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
- When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
- And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
- But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

- そこで ピラト は， 十字架につけさせるために， イエス を 彼らに 引き 渡した． 彼らは イエス を 引き 取った．

- Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
