느헤미야 5:1-6:19

 성벽 공사가 어렵게 진행되는 동안 백성들 사이에서 취리 행위로 인한 문제가 발생하였고, 백성들은 부르짖어 불평하였다. 이에 느헤미야는 취리 행위를 금지시키고 발생한 문제들을 해결하였다. 또한 대적들은 느헤미야를 죽이려는 음모를 꾸몄으나 실패로 돌아갔다. 성벽 건축은 완료되었다.
  
  가난한 자들을 도움(5:1-5:19)    
 
  1. さて， ここに 民がその 妻と 共に， その 兄弟である ユダヤ 人に 向かって 大いに 叫び 訴えることがあった．
  2. すなわち， ある 人¿は 言った， 「われわれはむすこ 娘と 共に 大ぜいです． われわれは 穀物を 得て， 食べて 生きていかなければなりません 」．
  3. またある 人¿は 言った， 「われわれは 飢えのために， 穀物を 得ようと 田畑も， ぶどう 畑も， 家も 抵當に 入れています 」．
  4. ある 人¿は 言った， 「われわれは 王の 稅金のために， われわれの 田畑およびぶどう 畑をもって 金を 借りました．
  5. 現にわれわれの 肉はわれわれの 兄弟の 肉に 等しく， われわれの 子供も 彼らの 子供に 等しいのに， 見よ， われわれはむすこ 娘を 人の 奴隷とするようにしいられています． われわれの 娘のうちには， すでに 人の 奴隷になった 者もありますが， われわれの 田畑も， ぶどう 畑も 他人のものになっているので， われわれにはどうする 力もありません 」．
  1. And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews.
  2. For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live.
  3. Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.
  4. There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.
  5. Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards.
  1. わたしは 彼らの 叫びと， これらの 言葉を 聞いて 大いに 怒った．
  2. わたしはみずから 考えたすえ， 尊い 人¿およびつかさたちを 責めて 言った， 「あなたがたはめいめいその 兄弟から 利息をとっている 」． そしてわたしは 彼らの 事について 大會を 開き，
  3. 彼らに 言った， 「われわれは 異邦人に 賣られたわれわれの 兄弟 ユダヤ 人を， われわれの 力にしたがってあがなった． しかるにあなたがたは 自分の 兄弟を 賣ろうとするのか． 彼らはわれわれに 賣られるのか 」． 彼らは 默してひと 言もいわなかった．
  4. わたしはまた 言った， 「あなたがたのする 事はよくない． あなたがたは， われわれの 敵である 異邦人のそしりをやめさせるために， われわれの 神を 恐れつつ 事をなすべきではないか．
  5. わたしもわたしの 兄弟たちも， わたしのしもべたちも 同じく 金と 穀物とを 貸しているが， われわれはこの 利息をやめよう．
  1. And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.
  2. Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.
  3. And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer.
  4. Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?
  5. I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury.
  1. どうぞ， あなたがたは， きょうにも 彼らの 田畑， ぶどう 畑， オリブ 畑および 家屋を 彼らに 返し， またあなたがたが 彼らから 取っていた 金錢， 穀物， ぶどう 酒， 油などの 百分の 一を 返しなさい 」．
  2. すると 彼らは「われわれはそれを 返します． 彼らから 何をも 要求しません． あなたの 言うようにします 」と 言った． そこでわたしは 祭司たちを 呼び， 彼らにこの 言葉のとおりに 行うという 誓いを 立てさせた．
  3. わたしはまたわたしのふところを 打ち 拂って 言った， 「この 約束を 實行しない 者を， どうぞ 神がこのように 打ち 拂って， その 家およびその 仕事を 離れさせられるように． その 人はこのように 打ち 拂われてむなしくなるように 」． 會衆はみな「アァメン 」と 言って， 主をさんびした． そして 民はこの 約束のとおりに 行った．
  4. またわたしは， ユダ の 地の 總督に 任ぜられた 時から， すなわち アルタシャスタ 王の 第二十年から 第三十二年まで， 十二年の 間， わたしもわたしの 兄弟たちも， 總督としての 手當を 受けなかった．
  5. わたしより 以前の 總督らは 民に 重荷を 負わせ， 彼らから 銀四十 シケル のほかに パン とぶどう 酒を 取り， また 彼らのしもべたちも 民を 壓迫した． しかしわたしは 神を 恐れるので， そのようなことはしなかった．
  1. Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.
  2. Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.
  3. Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.
  4. Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.
  5. But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.
  1. わたしはかえって， この 城壁の 工事に 身をゆだね， どんな 土地をも 買ったことはない． わたしのしもべたちは 皆そこに 集まって 工事をした．
  2. またわたしの 食卓には ユダヤ 人と， つかさたち 百五十人もあり， そのほかに， われわれの 周圍の 異邦人のうちからきた 人¿もあった．
  3. これがために 一日に 牛一頭， 肥えた 羊六頭を 備え， また 鷄をもわたしのために 備え， 十日ごとにたくさんのぶどう 酒を 備えたが， わたしはこの 民の 勞役が 重かったので， 總督としての 手當を 求めなかった．
  4. わが 神よ， わたしがこの 民のためにしたすべての 事を 覺えて， わたしをお 惠みください．
  1. Yea, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land: and all my servants were gathered thither unto the work.
  2. Moreover there were at my table an hundred and fifty of the Jews and rulers, beside those that came unto us from among the heathen that are about us.
  3. Now that which was prepared for me daily was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wine: yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy upon this people.
  4. Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.
 
  대적들의 음모(6:1-6:19)    
 
  1. サンバラテ ， トビヤ ， アラビヤ びと ガシム およびその 他のわれわれの 敵は， わたしが 城壁を 築き 終って， 一つの 破れも 殘らないと 聞いた． （しかしその 時にはまだ 門のとびらをつけていなかったのである． ）
  2. そこで サンバラテ と ガシム はわたしに 使者をつかわして 言った， 「さあ， われわれは オノ の 平野にある 一つの 村で 會見しよう 」と． 彼らはわたしに 危害を 加えようと 考えていたのである．
  3. それでわたしは 彼らに 使者をつかわして 言わせた， 「わたしは 大いなる 工事をしているから 下って 行くことはできない． どうしてこの 工事をさしおいて， あなたがたの 所へ 下って 行き， その 間， 工事をやめることができようか 」．
  4. 彼らは 四度までこのようにわたしに 人をつかわしたが， わたしは 同じように 彼らに 答えた．
  5. ところが， サンバラテ は 五度目にそのしもべを 前のようにわたしにつかわした． その 手には 開封の 手紙を 携えていた．
  1. Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;)
  2. That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.
  3. And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?
  4. Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.
  5. Then sent Sanballat his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand;
  1. その 中に 次のようにしるしてあった， 「諸國民の 間に 言い 傳えられ， また ガシム も 言っているが， あなたは ユダヤ 人と 共に 反亂を 企て， これがために 城壁を 築いている． またその 言うところによれば， あなたは 彼らの 王になろうとしている．
  2. またあなたは 預言者を 立てて， あなたのことを エルサレム にのべ 傳えさせ， 『ユダ に 王がある 』と 言わせているが， そのことはこの 言葉のとおり 王に 聞えるでしょう． それゆえ， 今おいでなさい． われわれは 共に 相談しましょう 」．
  3. そこでわたしは 彼に 人をつかわして 言わせた， 「あなたの 言うようなことはしていません． あなたはそれを 自分の 心から 造り 出したのです 」と．
  4. 彼らはみな「彼らの 手が 弱って 工事をやめるようになれば， 工事は 成就しないだろう 」と 考えて， われわれをおどそうとしたのである． しかし 神よ， どうぞいまわたしの 手を 强めてください．
  5. さてわたしは メヘタベル の 子 デラヤ の 子 シマヤ の 家に 行ったところ， 彼は 閉じこもっていて 言った， 「われわれは 神の 宮すなわち 神殿の 中で 會合し， 神殿の 戶を 閉じておきましょう． 彼らはあなたを 殺そうとして 來るからです． きっと 夜のうちにあなたを 殺そうとして 來るでしょう 」．
  1. Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall, that thou mayest be their king, according to these words.
  2. And thou hast also appointed prophets to preach of thee at Jerusalem, saying, There is a king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.
  3. Then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart.
  4. For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.
  5. Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee.
  1. わたしは 言った， 「わたしのような 者がどうして 逃げられよう． わたしのような 者でだれが 神殿にはいって 命を 全うすることができよう． わたしははいらない 」．
  2. わたしは 悟った． 神が 彼をつかわされたのではない． 彼がわたしにむかってこの 預言を 傳えたのは， トビヤ と サンバラテ が 彼を 買收したためである．
  3. 彼が 買收されたのはこの 事のためである． すなわちわたしを 恐れさせ， わたしにこのようにさせて， 罪を 犯させ， わたしに 惡名をきせて 侮辱するためであった．
  4. わが 神よ， トビヤ ， サンバラテ および 女預言者 ノアデヤ ならびにその 他の 預言者など， すべてわたしを 恐れさせようとする 者たちをおぼえて， 彼らが 行ったこれらのわざに 報いてください．
  5. こうして 城壁は 五十二日を 經て， エルル の 月の 二十五日に 完成した．
  1. And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.
  2. And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
  3. Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me.
  4. My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.
  5. So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.
  1. われわれの 敵が 皆これを 聞いた 時， われわれの 周圍の 異邦人はみな 恐れ， 大いに 面目を 失った． 彼らはこの 工事が， われわれの 神の 助けによって 成就したことを 悟ったからである．
  2. またそのころ， ユダ の 尊い 人¿は 多くの 手紙を トビヤ に 送った． トビヤ の 手紙もまた 彼らにきた．
  3. トビヤ は アラ の 子 シカニヤ の ¿であったので， ユダ のうちの 多くの 者が 彼と 誓いを 立てていたからである． トビヤ の 子 ヨハナン も ベレキヤ の 子 メシュラム の 娘を 妻にめとった．
  4. 彼らはまた トビヤ の 善行をわたしの 前に 語り， またわたしの 言葉を 彼に 傳えた． トビヤ はたびたび 手紙を 送って， わたしを 恐れさせようとした．
  1. And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.
  2. Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters unto Tobiah, and the letters of Tobiah came unto them.
  3. For there were many in Judah sworn unto him, because he was the son in law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah.
  4. Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear.
