- その 日 アハシュエロス 王は， ユダヤ 人の 敵 ハマン の 家を 王妃 エステル に 與えた． モルデカイ は 王の 前にきた． これは エステル が 自分と モルデカイ がどんな 關係の 者であるかを 告げたからである．
- 王は ハマン から 取り 返した 自分の 指輪をはずして， モルデカイ に 與えた． エステル は モルデカイ に ハマン の 家を 管理させた．
- エステル は 再び 王の 前に 奏し， その 足もとにひれ 伏して， アガグ びと ハマン の 陰謀すなわち 彼が ユダヤ 人に 對して 企てたその 計畵を 除くことを 淚ながらに 請い 求めた．
- 王は エステル にむかって 金の ヴ を 伸べたので， エステル は 身を 起して 王の 前に 立ち，
- そして 言った， 「もし 王がよしとされ， わたしが 王の 前に 惠みを 得， またこの 事が 王の 前に 正しいと 見え， かつわたしが 王の 目にかなうならば， アガグ びと ハンメダタ の 子 ハマン が 王の 諸州にいる ユダヤ 人を 滅ぼそうとはかって 書き 送った 書を 取り 消す 旨を 書かせてください．

- On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews' enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was unto her.
- And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.
- And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.
- Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose, and stood before the king,
- And said, If it please the king, and if I have favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's provinces:

- どうしてわたしは， わたしの 民に 臨もうとする 災を， だまって 見ていることができましょうか． どうしてわたしの 同族の 滅びるのを， だまって 見ていることができましょうか 」．
- アハシュエロス 王は 王妃 エステル と ユダヤ 人 モルデカイ に 言った， 「ハマン が ユダヤ 人を 殺そうとしたので， わたしは ハマン の 家を エステル に 與え， また ハマン を 木に 掛けさせた．
- あなたがたは 自分たちの 思うままに 王の 名をもって ユダヤ 人についての 書をつくり， 王の 指輪をもってそれに 印を 押すがよい． 王の 名をもって 書き， 王の 指輪をもって 印を 押した 書はだれも 取り 消すことができない 」．
- その 時王の 書記官が 召し 集められた． それは 三月すなわち シワン の 月の 二十三日であった． そして インド から エチオピヤ までの 百二十七州にいる 總督， 諸州の 知事および 大臣たちに， モルデカイ が ユダヤ 人について 命じたとおりに 書き 送った． すなわち 各州にはその 文字を 用い， 各民族にはその 言語を 用いて 書き 送り， ユダヤ 人に 送るものにはその 文字と 言語とを 用いた．
- その 書は アハシュエロス 王の 名をもって 書かれ， 王の 指輪をもって 印を 押し， 王の 御用馬として， そのうまやに 育った 早馬に 乘る 急使によって 送られた．

- For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?
- Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews.
- Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse.
- Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.
- And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus' name, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries:

- その 中で， 王はすべての 町にいる ユダヤ 人に， 彼らが 相集まって 自分たちの 生命を 保護し， 自分たちを 襲おうとする 諸國， 諸州のすべての 武裝した 民を， その 妻子もろともに 滅ぼし， 殺し， 絶やし， かつその 貨財を 奪い 取ることを 許した．
- ただしこの 事を アハシュエロス 王の 諸州において， 十二月すなわち アダル の 月の 十三日に， 一日のうちに 行うことを 命じた．
- この 書いた 物の 寫しを 詔として 各州に 傳え， すべての 民に 公示して， ユダヤ 人に， その 日のために 備えして， その 敵にあだをかえさせようとした．
- 王の 御用馬である 早馬に 乘った 急使は， 王の 命によって 急がされ， せきたてられて 出て 行った． この 詔は 首都 スサ で 出された．
- モルデカイ は 靑と 白の 朝服を 着， 大きな 金の 冠をいただき， 紫色の 細布の 上着をまとって 王の 前から 出て 行った． スサ の 町中， 聲をあげて 喜んだ．

- Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey,
- Upon one day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.
- The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies.
- So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace.
- And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

- ユダヤ 人には 光と 喜びと 樂しみと 譽があった．
- いずれの 州でも， いずれの 町でも， すべて 王の 命令と 詔の 傳達された 所では， ユダヤ 人は 喜び 樂しみ， 酒宴を 開いてこの 日を 祝日とした． そしてこの 國の 民のうち 多くの 者が ユダヤ 人となった． これは ユダヤ 人を 恐れる 心が 彼らのうちに 起ったからである．

- The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour.
- And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.
