- しかし， もしだれかが 人を 悲しませたとすれば， それはわたしを 悲しませたのではなく， 控え 目に 言うが， ある 程度， あなたがた 一同を 悲しませたのである．
- その 人にとっては， 多數の 者から 受けたあの 處罰でもう 十分なのだから，
- あなたがたはむしろ 彼をゆるし， また 慰めてやるべきである． そうしないと， その 人はますます 深い 悲しみに 沈むかも 知れない．
- そこでわたしは， 彼に 對して 愛を 示すように， あなたがたに 勸める．
- わたしが 書きおくったのも， あなたがたがすべての 事について 從順であるかどうかを， ためすためにほかならなかった．

- But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
- Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
- So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
- Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
- For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.

- もしあなたがたが， 何かのことについて 人をゆるすなら， わたしもまたゆるそう． そして， もしわたしが 何かのことでゆるしたとすれば， それは， あなたがたのために キリスト のみまえでゆるしたのである．
- そうするのは， サタン に 欺かれることのないためである． わたしたちは， 彼の 策略を 知らないわけではない．
- さて， キリスト の 福音のために トロアス に 行ったとき， わたしのために 主の 門が 開かれたにもかかわらず，
- 兄弟 テトス に 會えなかったので， わたしは 氣が 氣でなく， 人¿に 別れて， マケドニヤ に 出かけて 行った．
- しかるに， 神は 感謝すべきかな． 神はいつもわたしたちを キリスト の 凱旋に 伴い 行き， わたしたちをとおして キリスト を 知る 知識のかおりを， 至る 所に 放って 下さるのである．

- To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;

- Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

- わたしたちは， 救われる 者にとっても 滅びる 者にとっても， 神に 對する キリスト のかおりである．
- 後者にとっては， 死から 死に 至らせるかおりであり， 前者にとっては， いのちからいのちに 至らせるかおりである． いったい， このような 任務に， だれが 耐え 得ようか．
- しかし， わたしたちは， 多くの 人のように 神の 言を 賣物にせず， 眞心をこめて， 神につかわされた 者として 神のみまえで， キリスト にあって 語るのである．

- For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
- To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
- For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
