	욥기 30:1-31:40 욥은 현재 환난 가운데 있는 자신은 사람들의 조롱거리가 되었다고 비통하게 노래하면서, 하나님께서 자신을 고통 가운데 있게 하셨다고 하였다. 그리고 하나님께 부르짖으나 하나님께서 대답하지 아니하시므로 자신은 애통한 상태에 있다고 하면서, 하나님께서 자신의 정직함을 알기를 원하며 자신에게 대답해 주시기를 간구하였다.

	계속되는 욥의 독백(30:1-31:40)

しかし今はわたしよりも年若い者が，／かえってわたしをあざ笑う．彼らの父はわたしが卑しめて，／群れの犬と一緖にさえしなかった者だ．

彼らの手の力からわたしは何を得るであろうか，／彼らはその氣力がすでに衰えた人¿だ．

彼らは乏しさと激しい飢えとによって，／かわいた荒れ地をかむ．

彼らは，ぜにあおいおよび灌木の葉を摘み，／れだまの根をもって身を暖める．

彼らは人¿の中から追いだされ，／盜びとを追うように，人¿は彼らを追い呼ばわる．

But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.

Yea, whereto might the strength of their hands profit me, in whom old age was perished?

For want and famine they were solitary; fleeing into the wilderness in former time desolate and waste.

Who cut up mallows by the bushes, and juniper roots for their meat.

They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them as after a thief;)

彼らは急流の谷間に住み，／土の穴または岩の穴におり，

灌木の中にいななき，いらくさの下に押し合う．

彼らは愚かな者の子，また卑しい者の子であって，／國から追いだされた者だ．

それなのに，わたしは今彼らの歌となり，／彼らの笑い草となった．

彼らはわたしをいとい，遠くわたしをはなれ，／わたしの顔につばきすることも，ためらわない．

To dwell in the cliffs of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks.

Among the bushes they brayed; under the nettles they were gathered together.

They were children of fools, yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth.

And now am I their song, yea, I am their byword.

They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.

神がわたしの綱を解いて，／わたしを卑しめられたので，／彼らもわたしの前に愼みを捨てた．

このともがらはわたしの右に立ち上がり，／わたしを追いのけ，／わたしにむかって滅びの道を築く．

彼らはわたしの道をこわし，わたしの災を促す．これをさし止める者はない．

彼らは廣い破れ口からはいるように進みきたり，／破壞の中をおし寄せる．

恐ろしい事はわたしに臨み，／わたしの譽は風のように吹き拂われ，／わたしの繁榮は雲のように消えうせた．

Because he hath loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also let loose the bridle before me.

Upon my right hand rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction.

They mar my path, they set forward my calamity, they have no helper.

They came upon me as a wide breaking in of waters: in the desolation they rolled themselves upon me.

Terrors are turned upon me: they pursue my soul as the wind: and my welfare passeth away as a cloud.

今は，わたしの魂はわたしの內にとけて流れ，／惱みの日はわたしを捕えた．

夜はわたしの骨を激しく惱まし，／わたしをかむ苦しみは，やむことがない．

それは暴力をもって，わたしの着物を捕え，／はだ着のえりのように，わたしをしめつける．

神がわたしを泥の中に投げ入れられたので，／わたしはちり灰のようになった．

わたしがあなたにむかって呼ばわっても，／あなたは答えられない．わたしが立っていても，あなたは顧みられない．

And now my soul is poured out upon me; the days of affliction have taken hold upon me.

My bones are pierced in me in the night season: and my sinews take no rest.

By the great force of my disease is my garment changed: it bindeth me about as the collar of my coat.

He hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.

I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me not.

あなたは變って，わたしに無情な者となり，／み手の力をもってわたしを攻め惱まされる．

あなたはわたしを揚げて風の上に乘せ，／大風のうなり聲の中に，もませられる．

わたしは知っている，あなたはわたしを死に歸らせ，／すべての生き物の集まる家に歸らせられることを．

さりながら荒塚の中にある者は，／手を伸べないであろうか，／災の中にある者は助けを呼び求めないであろうか．

わたしは苦しい日を送る者のために／泣かなかったか．わたしの魂は貧しい人のために／悲しまなかったか．

Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest thyself against me.

Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to ride upon it, and dissolvest my substance.

For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

Howbeit he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.

Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? was not my soul grieved for the poor?

しかしわたしが幸を望んだのに災が來た．光を待ち望んだのにやみが來た．

わたしのはらわたは沸きかえって，靜まらない．惱みの日がわたしに近づいた．

わたしは日の光によらずに黑くなって步き，／公會の中に立って助けを呼び求める．

わたしは山犬の兄弟となり，／だちょうの友となった．

わたしの皮膚は黑くなって，はげ落ち，／わたしの骨は熱さによって燃え，

When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.

I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, and I cried in the congregation.

I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.

My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.

わたしの琴は悲しみの音となり，／わたしの笛は泣く者の聲となった．

My harp also is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of them that weep.

わたしは，わたしの目と／契約を結んだ，／どうして，おとめを慕うことができようか．

もしそうすれば上から神の下される分は／どんなであろうか．高き所から全能者の與えられる嗣業は／どんなであろうか．

不義なる者には災が下らないであろうか．惡をなす者には災難が臨まないであろうか．

彼はわたしの道をみそなわし，／わたしの步みをことごとく數えられぬであろうか．

もし，わたしがうそと共に步み，／わたしの足が僞りにむかって／急いだことがあるなら，

I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?

Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;

（正しいはかりをもってわたしを量れ，／そうすれば神はわたしの潔白を知られるであろう．）

もしわたしの步みが，道をはなれ，／わたしの心がわたしの目にしたがって步み，／わたしの手に汚れがついていたなら，

わたしのまいたのを他の人が食べ，／わたしのために成長するものが，／拔き取られてもかまわない．

もし，わたしの心が，女に迷ったことがあるか，／またわたしが隣り人の門で／待ち伏せしたことがあるなら，

わたしの妻が他の人のためにうすをひき，／他の人が彼女の上に寢てもかまわない．

Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.

If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;

Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.

If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;

Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

これは重い罪であって，／さばきびとに罰せられるべき惡事だからでㄱ 手 �

これは滅びに至るまでも燒きつくす火であって，／わたしのすべての産業を根こそぎ燒くであろう．

わたしのしもべ，また，はしためが／わたしと言い爭ったときに，／わたしがもしその言い分を退けたことがあるなら，

神が立ち上がられるとき，わたしはどうしようか，／神が尋ねられるとき，なんとお答えしようか．

わたしを胎內に造られた者は，／彼をも造られたのではないか．われわれを腹の內に形造られた者は，／ただひとりではないか．

For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.

For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.

If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me;

What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?

Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?

わたしがもし貧しい者の願いを退け，／やもめの目を衰えさせ，

あるいはわたしひとりで食物を食べて，／みなしごに食べさせなかったことがあるなら，

（わたしは彼の幼い時から父のように彼を育て，／またその母の胎を出たときから彼を導いた．）

もし着物がないために死のうとする者や，／身をおおう物のない貧しい人をわたしが見た時に，

その腰がわたしを祝福せず，／また彼がわたしの羊の毛で／暖まらなかったことがあるなら，

If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof;

(For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb;)

If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering;

If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

もしわたしを助ける者が門におるのを見て，／みなしごにむかってわたしの手を／振り上げたことがあるなら，

わたしの肩骨が，肩から落ち，／わたしの腕が，つけ根から折れてもかまわない．

わたしは神から出る災を恐れる，／その威光の前には何事もなすことはできない．

わたしがもし金をわが望みとし，／精金をわが賴みと言ったことがあるなら，

わたしがもしわが富の大いなる事と，／わたしの手に多くの物を獲た事とを／喜んだことがあるなら，

If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:

Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.

For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

If I rejoice because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;

わたしがもし日の輝くのを見，／または月の照りわたって動くのを見た時，

心ひそかに迷って，手に口づけしたことがあるなら，

これもまたさばきびとに罰せらるべき惡事だ．わたしは上なる神を欺いたからである．

わたしがもしわたしを憎む者の滅びるのを喜び，／または災が彼に臨んだとき，／勝ち誇ったことがあるなら，

（わたしはわが口に罪を犯させず，／のろいをもって彼の命を求めたことはなかった．）

If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness;

And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:

This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.

If I rejoice at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him:

Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul.

もし，わたしの天幕の人¿で，／『だれか彼の肉に飽きなかった者があるか』と，／言わなかったことがあるなら，

（他國人はちまたに宿らず，／わたしはわが門を旅びとに開いた．）

わたしがもし人¿の前にわたしのとがをおおい，／わたしの惡事を胸の中に隱したことがあるなら，

わたしが大衆を恐れ，宗族の侮りにおじて，／口を閉じ，門を出なかったことがあるなら，

ああ，わたしに聞いてくれる者があればよいのだが，／（わたしのかきはんがここにある．どうか，全能者がわたしに答えられるように．）／ああ，わたしの敵の書いた／告訴狀があればよいのだが．

If the men of my tabernacle said not, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied.

The stranger did not lodge in the street: but I opened my doors to the traveller.

If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:

Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?

Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.

わたしは必ずこれを肩に負い，／冠のようにこれをわが身に結び，

わが步みの數を彼に述べ，／君たる者のようにして，彼に近づくであろう．

もしわが田畑がわたしに向かって呼ばわり，／そのうねみぞが共に泣き叫んだことがあるなら，

もしわたしが金を拂わないでその産物を食べ，／その持ち主を死なせたことがあるなら，

小麥の代りに，いばらがはえ，／大麥の代りに雜草がはえてもかまわない」．ヨブの言葉は終った．

Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.

I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near unto him.

If my land cry against me, or that the furrows likewise thereof complain;

If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.
