- 兄弟たちよ． わたしたちはここで， マケドニヤ の 諸敎會に 與えられた 神の 惠みを， あなたがたに 知らせよう．
- すなわち， 彼らは， 患難のために 激しい 試鍊をうけたが， その 滿ちあふれる 喜びは， 極度の 貧しさにもかかわらず， あふれ 出て 惜しみなく 施す 富となったのである．
- わたしはあかしするが， 彼らは 力に 應じて， 否， 力以上に 施しをした． すなわち， 自ら 進んで，
- 聖徒たちへの 奉仕に 加わる 惠みにあずかりたいと， わたしたちに 熱心に 願い 出て，
- わたしたちの 希望どおりにしたばかりか， 自分自身をまず， 神のみこころにしたがって， 主にささげ， また， わたしたちにもささげたのである．

- Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
- How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
- For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
- Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
- And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

- そこで， この 募金を テトス があなたがたの 所で， すでに 始めた 以上， またそれを 完成するようにと， わたしたちは 彼に 勸めたのである．
- さて， あなたがたがあらゆる 事がらについて 富んでいるように， すなわち， 信仰にも 言葉にも 知識にも， あらゆる 熱情にも， また， あなたがたに 對するわたしたちの 愛にも 富んでいるように， この 惠みのわざにも 富んでほしい．
- こう 言っても， わたしは 命令するのではない． ただ， 他の 人たちの 熱情によって， あなたがたの 愛の 純眞さをためそうとするのである．
- あなたがたは， わたしたちの 主 イエス · キリスト の 惠みを 知っている． すなわち， 主は 富んでおられたのに， あなたがたのために 貧しくなられた． それは， あなたがたが， 彼の 貧しさによって 富む 者になるためである．
- そこで， わたしは， この 惠みのわざについて 意見を 述べよう． それがあなたがたの 益になるからである． あなたがたはこの 事を， 昨年以來， 他に 先んじて 實行したばかりではなく， それを 願っていた．

- Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
- Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
- I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
- For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
- And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

- だから 今， それをやりとげなさい． あなたがたが 心から 願っているように， 持っているところに 應じて， それをやりとげなさい．
- もし 心から 願ってそうするなら， 持たないところによらず， 持っているところによって， 神に 受けいれられるのである．
- それは， ほかの 人¿に 樂をさせて， あなたがたに 苦勞をさせようとするのではなく， 持ち 物を 等しくするためである．
- すなわち， 今の 場合は， あなたがたの 余裕があの 人たちの 欠乏を 補い， 後には， 彼らの 余裕があなたがたの 欠乏を 補い， こうして 等しくなるようにするのである．
- それは「多く 得た 者も 余ることがなく， 少ししか 得なかった 者も 足りないことはなかった 」と 書いてあるとおりである．

- Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
- For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
- For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
- But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
- As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.
