- わざわいなるかな， 不義の 判決を 下す 者， 暴虐の 宣告を 書きしるす 者．
- 彼らは 乏しい 者の 訴えを 引き 受けず， わが 民のうちの 貧しい 者の 權利をはぎ， 寡婦の 資産を 奪い， みなしごのものをかすめる．
- あなたがたは 刑罰の 日がきたなら， 何をしようとするのか． 大風が 遠くから 來るとき， 何をしようとするのか． あなたがたはのがれていって， だれに 助けを 求めようとするのか． また， どこにあなたがたの 富を 殘そうとするのか．
- ただ 捕われた 者の 中にかがみ， 殺された 者の 中に 伏し 倒れるのみだ． それでも 主の 怒りはやまず， なおも， そのみ 手を 伸ばされる．
- ああ， アッスリヤ はわが 怒りのつえ， わが 憤りのむちだ．

- Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
- To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
- And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
- Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
- O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.

- わたしは 彼をつかわして 不信の 國を 攻め， 彼に 命じてわが 怒りの 民を 攻め， かすめ 奪わせ， 彼らをちまたの 泥のように 踏みにじらせる．
- しかし 彼はそのようには 思わず， その 心もそのようには 考えず， かえってその 心は 滅ぼすことを 思い， あまたの 國¿を 倒そうとする．
- 彼は 言う， 「わが 諸侯はみな 王ではないか．
- カルノ は カルケミシ のようではないか． ハマテ は アルパデ のようではないか． サマリヤ は ダマスコ のようではないか．
- わが 手は 偶像に 仕える 國¿に 伸びた． その 彫った 像は エルサレム および ／ サマリヤ のものにまさっていた．

- I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
- Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.
- For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?
- Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?
- As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;

- わたしは サマリヤ とその 偶像に 行ったように， エルサレム とその 偶像に 行わぬであろうか 」．
- 主が シオン の 山と エルサレム とになそうとすることを， ことごとくなし 遂げられた 時， 主は アッスリヤ 王の 無禮な 言葉と， その 高ぶりとを 罰せられる．
- 彼は 言う， 「わが 手の 力により， またわが 知惠によって， わたしはこれをなした． わたしは 賢いからである． わたしはもろもろの 民の 境を 除き， その 財寶を 奪った． またわたしは 雄牛のように， 位に 座する 者を 引きおろした．
- わが 手は 巢を 取るように， もろもろの 民の 富を 得た． またわたしは 人¿が 捨てられた 卵を 集めるように， 全地を 取り 集めた． あるいは 翼を 動かし， あるいは 口を 開き， あるいはぺちゃくちゃ 言う 者もなかった 」．
- おのは， それを 用いて 切る 者にむかって， 自分を 誇ることができようか． のこぎりは， それを 動かす 者にむかって， みずから 高ぶることができようか． これはあたかも， むちが 自分をあげる 者を 動かし， つえが 木でない 者をあげようとするのに 等しい．

- Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
- Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
- For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:
- And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
- Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.

- それゆえ， 主， 万軍の 主は， その 肥えた 勇士の 中に 病氣を 送って 衰えさせ， その 榮光の 下に 火の 燃えるような 炎を 燃やされる．
- イスラエル の 光は 火となり， その 聖者は 炎となり， そのいばらと， おどろとを 一日のうちに 燒き 滅ぼす．
- また， その 林と 土肥えた 田畑の 榮えを， 魂も， からだも 二つながら 滅ぼし， 病める 者のやせ 衰える 時のようにされる．
- その 林の 木の 殘りのものはわずかであって， わらべもそれを 書きとめることができる．
- その 日には イスラエル の 殘りの 者と， ヤコブ の 家の 生き 殘った 者とは， もはや 自分たちを 擊った 者にたよらず， 眞心をもって イスラエル の 聖者， 主にたより，

- Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.
- And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
- And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standard-bearer fainteth.
- And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
- And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

- 殘りの 者， すなわち ヤコブ の 殘りの 者は 大能の 神に 歸る．
- あなたの 民 イスラエル は 海の 砂のようであっても， そのうちの 殘りの 者だけが 歸って 來る． 滅びはすでに 定まり， 義であふれている．
- 主， 万軍の 主は 定められた 滅びを 全地に 行われる．
- それゆえ， 主， 万軍の 主はこう 言われる， 「シオン に 住むわが 民よ， アッスリヤ びとが， エジプト びとがしたように， むちをもってあなたを 打ち， つえをあげてあなたをせめても， 彼らを 恐れてはならない．
- ただしばらくして， わが 憤りはやみ， わが 怒りは 彼らを 滅ぼすからである．

- The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
- For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
- For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
- Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
- For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.

- And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
- And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
- He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:
- They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.
- Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.

- マデメナ は 逃げ 去り， ゲビム の 民は 隱れ 場を 求めた．
- この 日彼は ノブ に 立ちとどまり， シオン の 娘の 山， エルサレム の 丘にむかって， その 手を 振る．
- 見よ， 主， 万軍の 主は， 恐ろしい 力をもって 枝を 切りおろされる． たけの 高いものも 切り 落され， そびえ 立つものは 低くされる．
- 主はおのをもって 茂りあう 林を 切られる． みごとな 木の 茂る レバノン も 倒される．

- Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.
- As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
- Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.
- And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
