- さてあなたがたは， 先には 自分の 罪過と 罪とによって 死んでいた 者であって，
- かつてはそれらの 中で， この 世のならわしに 從い， 空中の 權をもつ 君， すなわち， 不從順の 子らの 中に 今も ¿いている 靈に 從って， 步いていたのである．
- また， わたしたちもみな， かつては 彼らの 中にいて， 肉の 欲に 從って 日を 過ごし， 肉とその 思いとの 欲するままを 行い， ほかの 人¿と 同じく， 生れながらの 怒りの 子であった．
- しかるに， あわれみに 富む 神は， わたしたちを 愛して 下さったその 大きな 愛をもって，
- 罪過によって 死んでいたわたしたちを， キリスト と 共に 生かし ――あなたがたの 救われたのは， 惠みによるのである ――

- And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
- Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
- Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
- But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
- Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

- キリスト · イエス にあって， 共によみがえらせ， 共に 天上で 座につかせて 下さったのである．
- それは， キリスト · イエス にあってわたしたちに 賜わった 慈愛による 神の 惠みの 絶大な 富を， きたるべき 世¿に 示すためであった．
- あなたがたの 救われたのは， 實に， 惠みにより， 信仰によるのである． それは， あなたがた 自身から 出たものではなく， 神の 賜物である．
- 決して 行いによるのではない． それは， だれも 誇ることがないためなのである．
- わたしたちは 神の 作品であって， 良い 行いをするように， キリスト · イエス にあって 造られたのである． 神は， わたしたちが， 良い 行いをして 日を 過ごすようにと， あらかじめ 備えて 下さったのである．

- And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
- That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
- For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
- Not of works, lest any man should boast.
- For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

- だから， 記憶しておきなさい． あなたがたは 以前には， 肉によれば 異邦人であって， 手で 行った 肉の 割禮ある 者と 稱せられる 人¿からは， 無割禮の 者と 呼ばれており，
- またその 當時は， キリスト を 知らず， イスラエル の 國籍がなく， 約束されたいろいろの 契約に 緣がなく， この 世の 中で 希望もなく 神もない 者であった．
- ところが， あなたがたは， このように 以前は 遠く 離れていたが， 今では キリスト · イエス にあって， キリスト の 血によって 近いものとなったのである．
- キリスト はわたしたちの 平和であって， 二つのものを 一つにし， 敵意という 隔ての 中垣を 取り 除き， ご 自分の 肉によって，
- 數¿の 規定から 成っている 戒めの 律法を 廢棄したのである． それは， 彼にあって， 二つのものをひとりの 新しい 人に 造りかえて 平和をきたらせ，

- Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
- That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
- But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
- For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
- Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

- 十字架によって， 二つのものを 一つのからだとして 神と 和解させ， 敵意を 十字架にかけて 滅ぼしてしまったのである．
- それから 彼は， こられた 上で， 遠く 離れているあなたがたに 平和を 宣べ 傳え， また 近くにいる 者たちにも 平和を 宣べ 傳えられたのである．
- というのは， 彼によって， わたしたち 兩方の 者が 一つの 御靈の 中にあって， 父のみもとに 近づくことができるからである．
- そこであなたがたは， もはや 異國人でも 宿り 人でもなく， 聖徒たちと 同じ 國籍の 者であり， 神の 家族なのである．
- またあなたがたは， 使徒たちや 預言者たちという 土台の 上に 建てられたものであって， キリスト · イエス ご 自身が 隅のかしら 石である．

- And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
- And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
- For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
- Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
- And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

- この キリスト にあって， 建物全體が 組み 合わされ， 主にある 聖なる 宮に 成長し，
- そしてあなたがたも， 主にあって 共に 建てられて， 靈なる 神のすまいとなるのである．

- In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
- In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
