- 主が 昔そのわざをなし 始められるとき， そのわざの 初めとして， わたしを 造られた．
- いにしえ， 地のなかった 時， 初めに， わたしは 立てられた．
- まだ 海もなく， また 大いなる 水の 泉もなかった 時， わたしはすでに 生れ，
- 山もまだ 定められず， 丘もまだなかった 時， わたしはすでに 生れた．
- すなわち 神がまだ 地をも 野をも， 地のちりのもとをも 造られなかった 時である．

- The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
- I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
- When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
- Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
- While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

- 彼が 天を 造り， 海のおもてに， 大空を 張られたとき， わたしはそこにあった．
- 彼が 上に 空を 堅く 立たせ， 淵の 泉をつよく 定め，
- 海にその 限界をたて， 水にその 岸を 越えないようにし， また 地の 基を 定められたとき，
- わたしは， そのかたわらにあって， 名匠となり， 日¿に 喜び， 常にその 前に 樂しみ，
- その 地で 樂しみ， また 世の 人を 喜んだ．

- When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
- When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
- When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
- Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
- Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
