- それゆえ， 子供らよ， 今わたしの 言うことを 聞け， わたしの 道を 守る 者はさいわいである．
- 敎訓を 聞いて， 知惠を 得よ， これを 捨ててはならない．
- わたしの 言うことを 聞き， 日¿わたしの 門のかたわらでうかがい， わたしの 戶口の 柱のわきで 待つ 人はさいわいである．
- それは， わたしを 得る 者は 命を 得， 主から 惠みを 得るからである．
- わたしを 失う 者は 自分の 命をそこなう， すべてわたしを 憎む 者は 死を 愛する 者である 」．

- Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
- Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
- Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
- For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
- But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
