에스겔

앗수르가 신흥 바벨론 제국에 의해 무너져 가는 시기에 부름받은 에스겔은 바벨론의 포로된 백성들에게 완전하고 최종적인 회복을 제시하며 위로하고 있다. 같은 시대의 예레미야가 예루살렘에서 멸망을 선포하는 동안, 에스겔은 현재 이스라엘이 받고 있는 형벌이 개인의 죄로 인한 결과임을 강조하면서 이스라엘이 반드시 회복된다는 희망을 심어 주고 있다.

1장부터 24장까지는 유다와 예루살렘에 대한 하나님의 심판에 대한 경고, 25장부터 32장까지는 이방에 대한 심판 선포, 33장부터 39장에서는 가까운 장래에 이루어질 이스라엘의 회복과 승리에 대한 예언, 그리고 40장부터 48장까지는 먼 미래에 이루어질 메시아 왕국에서 성취될 일을 선포하고 있다.

	에스겔 1:1-3:27 에스겔에게 환상을 보여 주신 하나님께서는 그를 선지자로 부르셔서 바벨론에서 포로 생활을 하는 이스라엘 백성에게 하나님의 말씀을 전하는 사명을 주셨다. 그리고 이 소명을 확증시키기 위해 그에게 두루마리를 받아 먹는 환상을 체험케 하셨다. 뿐만 아니라 하나님께서는 에스겔에게 능력을 주시고 이스라엘 민족의 파수꾼으로 삼으셨다.

	에스겔이 본 환상(1:1-1:28)

第三十年四月五日に，わたしがケバル川のほとりで，捕囚の人¿のうちにいた時，天が開けて，神の幻を見た．

これはエホヤキン王の捕え移された第五年であって，その月の五日に，

主の言葉がケバル川のほとり，カルデヤびとの地でブジの子祭司エゼキエルに臨み，主の手がその所で彼の上にあった．

わたしが見ていると，見よ，激しい風と大いなる雲が北から來て，その周圍に輝きがあり，たえず火を吹き出していた．その火の中に靑銅のように輝くものがあった．

またその中から四つの生きものの形が出てきた．その樣子はこうである．彼らは人の姿をもっていた．

Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.

In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,

The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.

And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.

おのおの四つの顔をもち，またそのおのおのに四つの翼があった．

その足はまっすぐで，足のうらは子牛の足のうらのようであり，みがいた靑銅のように光っていた．

その四方に，そのおのおのの翼の下に人の手があった．この四つの者はみな顔と翼をもち，

翼は互に連なり，行く時は回らずに，おのおの顔の向かうところにまっすぐに進んだ．

顔の形は，おのおのその前方に人の顔をもっていた．四つの者は右の方に，ししの顔をもち，四つの者は左の方に牛の顔をもち，また四つの者は後ろの方に，わしの顔をもっていた．

And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.

And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.

And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.

Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.

As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.

彼らの顔はこのようであった．その翼は高く伸ばされ，その二つは互に連なり，他の二つをもってからだをおおっていた．

彼らはおのおのその顔の向かうところへまっすぐに行き，靈の行くところへ彼らも行き，その行く時は回らない．

この生きもののうちには燃える炭の火のようなものがあり，たいまつのように，生きものの中を行き來している．火は輝いて，その火から，いなずまが出ていた．

生きものは，いなずまのひらめきのように速く行き來していた．

わたしが生きものを見ていると，生きもののかたわら，地の上に輪があった．四つの生きものおのおのに，一つずつの輪である．

Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.

And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.

As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.

And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.

もろもろの輪の形と作りは，光る貴かんらん石のようである．四つのものは同じ形で，その作りは，あたかも，輪の中に輪があるようである．

その行く時，彼らは四方のいずれかに行き，行く時は回らない．

四つの輪には輪緣と斡とがあり，その輪緣の周圍は目をもって滿たされていた．

生きものが行く時には，輪もそのかたわらに行き，生きものが地からあがる時は，輪もあがる．

靈の行く所には彼らも行き，輪は彼らに伴ってあがる．生きものの靈が輪の中にあるからである．

The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.

When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.

As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.

And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

彼らが行く時は，これらも行き，彼らがとどまる時は，これらもとどまり，彼らが地からあがる時は，輪もまたこれらと共にあがる．生きものの靈が輪の中にあるからである．

生きものの頭の上に水晶のように輝く大空の形があって，彼らの頭の上に廣がっている．，

大空の下にはまっすぐに伸ばした翼があり，たがいに相連なり，生きものはおのおの二つの翼をもって，からだをおおっている．

その行く時，わたしは大水の聲，全能者の聲のような翼の聲を聞いた．その聲の響きは大軍の聲のようで，そのとどまる時は翼をたれる．

また彼らの頭の上の大空から聲があった．彼らが立ちとどまる時は翼をおろした．

When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.

And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.

And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.

And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.

彼らの頭の上の大空の上に，サファイヤのような位の形があった．またその位の形の上に，人の姿のような形があった．

そしてその腰とみえる所の上の方に，火の形のような光る靑銅の色のものが，これを圍んでいるのを見た．わたしはその腰とみえる所の下の方に，火のようなものを見た．そして彼のまわりに輝きがあった．

そのまわりにある輝きのさまは，雨の日に雲に起るにじのようであった．主の榮光の形のさまは，このようであった．わたしはこれを見て，わたしの顔をふせたとき，語る者の聲を聞いた．

And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.

As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

	에스겔의 소명(2:1-3:27)

彼はわたしに言われた，「人の子よ，立ちあがれ，わたしはあなたに語ろう」．

そして彼がわたしに語られた時，靈がわたしのうちに入り，わたしを立ちあがらせた．そして彼のわたしに語られるのを聞いた．

彼はわたしに言われた，「人の子よ，わたしはあなたをイスラエルの民，すなわちわたしにそむいた反逆の民につかわす．彼らもその先祖も，わたしにそむいて今日に及んでいる．

彼らは厚顔で强情な者たちである．わたしはあなたを彼らにつかわす．あなたは彼らに『主なる神はこう言われる』と言いなさい．

彼らは聞いても，拒んでも，（彼らは反逆の家だから）彼らの中に預言者がいたことを知るだろう．

And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.

And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.

And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

人の子よ，彼らを恐れてはならない．彼らの言葉をも恐れてはならない．たといあざみといばらがあなたと一緖にあっても，またあなたが，さそりの中に住んでも，彼らの言葉を恐れてはならない．彼らの顔をはばかってはならない．彼らは反逆の家である．

彼らが聞いても，拒んでも，あなたはただわたしの言葉を彼らに語らなければならない．彼らは反逆の家だから．

人の子よ，わたしがあなたに語るところを聞きなさい．反逆の家のようにそむいてはならない．あなたの口を開いて，わたしが與えるものを食べなさい」．

この時わたしが見ると，見よ，わたしの方に伸べた手があった．また見よ，手の中に卷物があった．

彼がわたしの前にこれを開くと，その表にも裏にも文字が書いてあった．その書かれていることは悲しみと，嘆きと，災の言葉であった．

And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;

And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

彼はわたしに言われた．「人の子よ，あなたに與えられたものを食べなさい．この卷物を食べ，行ってイスラエルの家に語りなさい」．

そこでわたしが口を開くと，彼はわたしにその卷物を食べさせた．

そして彼はわたしに言われた，「人の子よ，わたしがあなたに與えるこの卷物を食べ，これであなたの腹を滿たしなさい」．わたしがそれを食べると，それはわたしの口に甘いこと蜜のようであった．

彼はまたわたしに言われた，「人の子よ，イスラエルの家に行って，わたしの言葉を語りなさい．

わたしはあなたを，異國語を用い，舌の重い民につかわすのでなく，イスラエルの家につかわすのである．

Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

すなわちあなたがその言葉を知らない，異國語の舌の重い多くの民につかわすのではない．もしわたしがあなたをそのような民につかわしたら，彼らはあなたに聞いたであろう．

しかしイスラエルの家はあなたに聞くのを好まない．彼らはわたしに聞くのを好まないからである．イスラエルの家はすべて厚顔でまた强情である．

見よ，わたしはあなたの顔を彼らの顔に向かって堅くし，あなたの額を彼らの額に向かって堅くした．

わたしはあなたの額を岩よりも堅いダイヤモンドのようにした．ゆえに彼らを恐れてはならない．彼らの顔をはばかってはならない．彼らは反逆の家である」．

また彼はわたしに言われた，「人の子よ，わたしがあなたに語るすべての言葉をあなたの心におさめ，あなたの耳に聞きなさい．

Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

そして捕囚の人¿，あなたの民の人¿の所へ行って，彼らが聞いても，彼らが拒んでも，『主なる神はこう言われる』と彼らに言いなさい」．

時に靈がわたしをもたげた．そして主の榮光がその所からのぼった時，わたしの後に大いなる地震の響きを聞いた．

それは互に相觸れる生きものの翼の音と，そのかたわらの輪の音で，大いなる地震のように響いた．

靈はわたしをもたげ，わたしを取り去ったので，わたしは心を熱くし，苦¿しい思いで出て行った．主の手が强くわたしの上にあった．

And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.

I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.

So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

七日過ぎて後，主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ，

「人の子よ，わたしはあなたをイスラエルの家のために見守る者とした．あなたはわたしの口から言葉を聞くたびに，わたしに代って彼らを戒めなさい．

わたしが惡人に『あなたは必ず死ぬ』と言うとき，あなたは彼の命を救うために彼を戒めず，また惡人を戒めて，その惡い道から離れるように語らないなら，その惡人は自分の惡のために死ぬ．しかしその血をわたしはあなたの手から求める．

しかし，もしあなたが惡人を戒めても，彼がその惡をも，またその惡い道をも離れないなら，彼はその惡のために死ぬ．しかしあなたは自分の命を救う．

And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

けれども，もしあなたが義人を戒めて，罪を犯さないように語り，そして彼が罪を犯さないなら，彼は戒めを受けいれたゆえに，その命を保ち，あなたは自分の命を救う」．

その所で主の手がわたしの上に臨み，彼はわたしに言われた，「立って，平野に出て行きなさい．その所でわたしはあなたに語ろう」．

そこで，わたしは立って平野に出て行った．見よ，主の榮光が，かつてわたしがケバル川のほとりで見た榮光のように，その所に立ち現れたので，わたしはひれ伏した．

しかし靈がわたしのうちにはいって，わたしを立ちあがらせ，わたしに語って言った，「行って，あなたの家にこもっていなさい．

Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.

Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.

But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:

わたしはあなたの舌を上あごにつかせ，あなたを口のきけない人にして，彼らを戒めることができないようにする．彼らは反逆の家だからである．

しかし，わたしがあなたと語るときは，あなたの口を開く．あなたは彼らに『主なる神はこう言われる』と言わなければならない．聞く者は聞くがよい，拒む者は拒むがよい．彼らは反逆の家だからである．

And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.

But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
