잠언 17:18-17:28

 미련한 자는 뇌물을 받고 온당치 못한 판결을 내리며 의인과 정직한 자를 핍박하여 야웨의 진노의 대상이 되나, 지혜로운 자는 말을 함부로 하지 않는다.
  
 
  1. 知惠のない 人は 手をうって， その 隣り 人の 前で 保證をする．
  2. 爭いを 好む 者は 罪を 好む， その 門を 高くする 者は 滅びを 求める．
  3. 曲った 心の 者はさいわいを 得ない， みだりに 舌をもって 語る 者は 災に 陷る．
  4. 愚かな 子を 生む 者は 嘆きを 得る， 愚か 者の 父は 喜びを 得ない．
  5. 心の 樂しみは 良い 藥である， たましいの 憂いは 骨を 枯らす．
  1. A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.
  2. He loveth transgression that loveth strife: and he that exalteth his gate seeketh destruction.
  3. He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.
  4. He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.
  5. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
  1. 惡しき 者は 人のふところからまいないを 受けて， さばきの 道をまげる．
  2. さとき 者はその 顔を 知惠にむける， しかし， 愚かな 者は 目を 地の 果にそそぐ．
  3. 愚かな 子はその 父の 憂いである， またこれを 産んだ 母の 痛みである．
  4. 正しい 人を 罰するのはよくない， 尊い 人を 打つのは 惡い．
  5. 言葉を 少なくする 者は 知識のある 者， 心の 冷靜な 人はさとき 人である．
  1. A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.
  2. Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.
  3. A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.
  4. Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for equity.
  5. He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.
  1. 愚かな 者も 默っているときは， 知惠ある 者と 思われ， そのくちびるを 閉じている 時は， さとき 者と 思われる．
  1. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
