- 怒ることの 激しい 者は 罰をうける， たとい 彼を 救ってやっても， さらにくり 返さねばならない．
- 勸めを 聞き， 敎訓をうけよ， そうすれば， ついには 知惠ある 者となる．
- 人の 心には 多くの 計畵がある， しかしただ 主の， み 旨だけが 堅く 立つ．
- 人に 望ましいのは， いつくしみ 深いことである， 貧しい 人は 僞りをいう 人にまさる．
- 主を 恐れることは 人を 命に 至らせ， 常に 飽き 足りて， 災にあうことはない．

- なまけ 者は， 手を 皿に 入れても， それを 口に 持ってゆくことをしない．
- あざける 者を 打て， そうすれば 思慮のない 者も 愼む． さとき 者を 戒めよ， そうすれば 彼は 知識を 得る．
- 父に 亂暴をはたらき， 母を 追い 出す 者は， 恥をきたらし， はずかしめをまねく 子である．
- わが 子よ， 知識の 言葉をはなれて 人を 迷わせる ／敎訓を 聞くことをやめよ．
- 惡い 證人はさばきをあざけり， 惡しき 者の 口は 惡をむさぼり 食う．

- A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
- Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
- He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
- Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
- An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
