- 僕たる 者よ． 心からのおそれをもって， 主人に 仕えなさい． 善良で 寬容な 主人だけにでなく， 氣むずかしい 主人にも， そうしなさい．
- もしだれかが， 不當な 苦しみを 受けても， 神を 仰いでその 苦痛を 耐え 忍ぶなら， それはよみせられることである．
- 惡いことをして 打ちたたかれ， それを 忍んだとしても， なんの 手柄になるのか． しかし 善を 行って 苦しみを 受け， しかもそれを 耐え 忍んでいるとすれば， これこそ 神によみせられることである．
- あなたがたは， 實に， そうするようにと 召されたのである． キリスト も， あなたがたのために 苦しみを 受け， 御足の 跡を 踏み 從うようにと， 模範を 殘されたのである．
- キリスト は 罪を 犯さず， その 口には 僞りがなかった．

- Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
- For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
- For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
- For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

- ののしられても， ののしりかえさず， 苦しめられても， おびやかすことをせず， 正しいさばきをするかたに， いっさいをゆだねておられた．
- さらに， わたしたちが 罪に 死に， 義に 生きるために， 十字架にかかって， わたしたちの 罪をご 自分の 身に 負われた． その 傷によって， あなたがたは， いやされたのである．
- あなたがたは， 羊のようにさ 迷っていたが， 今は， たましいの 牧者であり 監督であるかたのもとに， たち 歸ったのである．

- Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
