	다니엘 3:1-4:18 느부갓네살 왕은 모든 백성에게 자신이 만든 금 신상에 절할 것을 반포하고, 이 명령에 불복종하는 사드락, 메삭, 아벳느고를 풀무불로 처형하라고 명하였다. 그러나 그들이 하나님의 능력으로 불 속에서 살아난 것을 보자 왕은 하나님을 찬양했으며 아무도 하나님을 모독하지 못하도록 조서를 내렸다. 왕은 두번째 꿈을 꾸고 다니엘에게 꿈 해석을 요청하였다.

	금신상과 풀무불(3:1-3:30)

ネブカデネザル王は一つの金の像を造った．その高さは六十キュビト，その幅は六キュビトで，彼はこれをバビロン州のドラの平野に立てた．

そしてネブカデネザル王は，總督，長官，知事，參議，庫官，法官，高僧および諸州の官吏たちを召し集め，ネブカデネザル王の立てたこの像の落成式に臨ませようとした．

そこで，總督，長官，知事，參議，庫官，法官，高僧および諸州の官吏たちは，ネブカデネザル王の立てた像の落成式に臨み，そのネブカデネザルの立てた像の前に立った．

時に傳令者は大聲に呼ばわって言った，「諸民，諸族，諸國語の者よ，あなたがたにこう命じられる．

角笛，橫笛，琴，三角琴，立琴，風笛などの，もろもろの樂器の音を聞く時は，ひれ伏してネブカデネザル王の立てた金の像を拜まなければならない．

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,

That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:

だれでもひれ伏して拜まない者は，ただちに火の燃える爐の中に投げ ¿まれる」と．

そこで民らはみな，角笛，橫笛，琴，三角琴，立琴，風笛などの，もろもろの樂器の音を聞くや，諸民，諸族，諸國語の者たちはみな，ひれ伏して，ネブカデネザル王の立てた金の像を拜んだ．

その時，あるカルデヤびとらが進みきて，ユダヤ人をあしざまに訴えた．

すなわち彼らはネブカデネザル王に言った，「王よ，とこしえに生きながらえられますように．

王よ，あなたは命令を出して仰せられました．すべて，角笛，橫笛，琴，三角琴，立琴，風笛などの，もろもろの樂器の音を聞く者は皆，ひれ伏して金の像を拜まなければならない．

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.

They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.

Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:

また，だれでもひれ伏して拜まない者はみな，火の燃える爐の中に投げ ¿まれると．

ここにあなたが任命して，バビロン州の事務をつかさどらせられているユダヤ人シャデラク，メシャクおよびアベデネゴがおります．王よ，この人¿はあなたを尊ばず，あなたの神¿にも仕えず，あなたの立てられた金の像をも拜もうとしません」．

そこでネブカデネザルは怒りかつ憤って，シャデラク，メシャクおよびアベデネゴを連れてこいと命じたので，この人¿を王の前に連れてきた．

ネブカデネザルは彼らに言った，「シャデラク，メシャク，アベデネゴよ，あなたがたがわが神¿に仕えず，またわたしの立てた金の像を拜まないとは，ほんとうなのか．

あなたがたがもし，角笛，橫笛，琴，三角琴，立琴，風笛などの，もろもろの樂器の音を聞くときにひれ伏して，わたしが立てた像を，ただちに拜むならば，それでよろしい．しかし，拜むことをしないならば，ただちに火の燃える爐の中に投げ ¿まれる．いったい，どの神が，わたしの手からあなたがたを救うことができようか」．

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

シャデラク，メシャクおよびアベデネゴは王に答えて言った，「ネブカデネザルよ，この事について，お答えする必要はありません．

もしそんなことになれば，わたしたちの仕えている神は，その火の燃える爐から，わたしたちを救い出すことができます．また王よ，あなたの手から，わたしたちを救い出されます．

たといそうでなくても，王よ，ご承知ください．わたしたちはあなたの神¿に仕えず，またあなたの立てた金の像を拜みません」．

そこでネブカデネザルは怒りに滿ち，シャデラク，メシャクおよびアベデネゴにむかって，顔色を變え，爐を平常よりも七倍熱くせよと命じた．

またその軍勢の中の力の强い人¿を呼んで，シャデラク，メシャクおよびアベデネゴを縛って，彼らを火の燃える爐の中に投げ ¿めと命じた．

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

そこでこの人¿は，外套，下着，帽子，その他の衣服のまま縛られて，火の燃える爐の中に投げ ¿まれた．

王の命令はきびしく，かつ爐は，はなはだしく熱していたので，シャデラク，メシャクおよびアベデネゴを引きつれていった人¿は，その火炎に燒き殺された．

シャデラク，メシャク，アベデネゴの三人は縛られたままで，火の燃える爐の中に落ち ¿んだ．

その時，ネブカデネザル王は驚いて急ぎ立ちあがり，大臣たちに言った，「われわれはあの三人を縛って，火の中に投げ入れたではないか」．彼らは王に答えて言った，「王よ，そのとおりです」．

王は答えて言った，「しかし，わたしの見るのに四人の者がなわめなしに，火の中を步いているが，なんの害をも受けていない．その第四の者の樣子は神の子のようだ」．

Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

そこでネブカデネザルは，その火の燃える爐の入口に近寄って，「いと高き神のしもべシャデラク，メシャク，アベデネゴよ，出てきなさい」と言ったので，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデネゴはその火の中から出てきた．

總督，長官，知事および王の大臣たちも集まってきて，この人¿を見たが，火は彼らの身にはなんの力もなく，その頭の毛は燒けず，その外套はそこなわれず，火のにおいもこれに付かなかった．

ネブカデネザルは言った，「シャデラク，メシャク，アベデネゴの神はほむべきかな．神はその使者をつかわして，自分に寄り賴むしもべらを救った．また彼らは自分の神以外の神に仕え，拜むよりも，むしろ王の命令を無視し，自分の身をも捨てようとしたのだ．

それでわたしはいま命令を下す．諸民，諸族，諸國語の者のうちだれでも，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデネゴの神をののしる者があるならば，その身は切り裂かれ，その家は滅ぼされなければならない．このように救を施すことのできる神は，ほかにないからだ」．

こうして，王はシャデラク，メシャクおよびアベデネゴの位を進めて，バビロン州におらせた．

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

	느부갓네살의 두번째 꿈(4:1-4:18)

ネブカデネザル王は全世界に住む諸民，諸族，諸國語の者に告げる．どうか，あなたがたに平安が增すように．

いと高き神はわたしにしるしと奇跡とを行われた．わたしはこれを知らせたいと思う．

ああ，そのしるしの大いなること，ああ，その奇跡のすばらしいこと，その國は永遠の國，その主權は世¿に及ぶ．

われネブカデネザルはわが家に安らかにおり，わが宮にあって榮えていたが，

わたしは一つの夢を見て，そのために恐れた．すなわち床にあって，その事を思いめぐらし，わが腦中の幻のために心を惱ました．

Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.

How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:

I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

そこでわたしは命令を下し，バビロンの知者をことごとくわが前に召し寄せて，その夢の解き明かしを示させようとした．

すると，博士，法術士，カルデヤびと，占い師たちがきたので，わたしはその夢を彼らに語ったが，彼らはその解き明かしを示すことができなかった．

最後にダニエルがわたしの前にきた， ――彼の名はわが神の名にちなんで，ベルテシャザルととなえられ，彼のうちには聖なる神の靈がやどっていた ――わたしは彼にその夢を語って言った，

「博士の長ベルテシャザルよ，わたしは知っている．聖なる神の靈があなたのうちにやどっているから，どんな秘密もあなたにはむずかしいことはない．ここにわたしが見た夢がある．その解き明かしをわたしに告げなさい．

わたしが床にあって見た腦中の幻はこれである．わたしが見たのに，地の中央に一本の木があって，そのたけが高かったが，

Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

その木は成長して强くなり，天に達するほどの高さになって，地の果までも見えわたり，

その葉は美しく，その實は豊かで，すべての者がその中から食物を獲，また野の ¿はその陰にやどり，空の鳥はその枝にすみ，すべての肉なる者はこれによって養われた．

わたしが床にあって見た腦中の幻の中に，ひとりの警護者，ひとりの聖者の天から下るのを見たが，

彼は聲高く呼ばわって，こう言った，『この木を切り倒し，その枝を切りはらい，その葉をゆり落し，その實を打ち散らし， ¿をその下から逃げ去らせ，鳥をその枝から飛び去らせよ．

ただしその根の切り株を地に殘し，それに鐵と靑銅のなわをかけて，野の若草の中におき，天からくだる露にぬれさせ，また地の草の中で， ¿と共にその分にあずからせよ．

The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

またその心は變って人間の心のようでなく， ¿の心が與えられて，七つの時を過ごさせよ．

この宣言は警護者たちの命令によるもの，この決定は聖者たちの言葉によるもので，いと高き者が，人間の國を治めて，自分の意のままにこれを人に與え，また人のうちの最も卑しい者を，その上に立てられるという事を，すべての者に知らせるためである』と．

われネブカデネザル王はこの夢を見た．ベルテシャザルよ，あなたはその解き明かしをわたしに告げなさい．わが國の知者たちは，いずれもその解き明かしを，わたしに示すことができなかったけれども，あなたにはそれができる．あなたのうちには，聖なる神の靈がやどっているからだ」．

Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
