- 愛する 者たちよ． すべての 靈を 信じることはしないで， それらの 靈が 神から 出たものであるかどうか， ためしなさい． 多くのにせ 預言者が 世に 出てきているからである．
- あなたがたは， こうして 神の 靈を 知るのである． すなわち， イエス · キリスト が 肉體をとってこられたことを 告白する 靈は， すべて 神から 出ているものであり，
- イエス を 告白しない 靈は， すべて 神から 出ているものではない． これは， 反 キリスト の 靈である． あなたがたは， それが 來るとかねて 聞いていたが， 今やすでに 世にきている．
- 子たちよ． あなたがたは 神から 出た 者であって， 彼らにうち 勝ったのである． あなたがたのうちにいますのは， 世にある 者よりも 大いなる 者なのである．
- 彼らは 世から 出たものである． だから， 彼らは 世のことを 語り， 世も 彼らの 言うことを 聞くのである．

- Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
- Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
- And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
- Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
- They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

- しかし， わたしたちは 神から 出たものである． 神を 知っている 者は， わたしたちの 言うことを 聞き， 神から 出ない 者は， わたしたちの 言うことを 聞かない． これによって， わたしたちは， 眞理の 靈と 迷いの 靈との 區別を 知るのである．
- 愛する 者たちよ． わたしたちは 互に 愛し 合おうではないか． 愛は， 神から 出たものなのである． すべて 愛する 者は， 神から 生れた 者であって， 神を 知っている．
- 愛さない 者は， 神を 知らない． 神は 愛である．
- 神はそのひとり 子を 世につかわし， 彼によってわたしたちを 生きるようにして 下さった． それによって， わたしたちに 對する 神の 愛が 明らかにされたのである．
- わたしたちが 神を 愛したのではなく， 神がわたしたちを 愛して 下さって， わたしたちの 罪のためにあがないの 供え 物として， 御子をおつかわしになった． ここに 愛がある．

- We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
- Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
- He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
- In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
- Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

- 愛する 者たちよ． 神がこのようにわたしたちを 愛して 下さったのであるから， わたしたちも 互に 愛し 合うべきである．
- 神を 見た 者は， まだひとりもいない． もしわたしたちが 互に 愛し 合うなら， 神はわたしたちのうちにいまし， 神の 愛がわたしたちのうちに 全うされるのである．
- 神が 御靈をわたしたちに 賜わったことによって， わたしたちが 神におり， 神がわたしたちにいますことを 知る．
- わたしたちは， 父が 御子を 世の 救主としておつかわしになったのを 見て， そのあかしをするのである．
- もし 人が， イエス を 神の 子と 告白すれば， 神はその 人のうちにいまし， その 人は 神のうちにいるのである．

- Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
- No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
- Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
- And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
- Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

- わたしたちは， 神がわたしたちに 對して 持っておられる 愛を 知り， かつ 信じている． 神は 愛である． 愛のうちにいる 者は， 神におり， 神も 彼にいます．
- わたしたちもこの 世にあって 彼のように 生きているので， さばきの 日に 確信を 持って 立つことができる． そのことによって， 愛がわたしたちに 全うされているのである．
- 愛には 恐れがない． 完全な 愛は 恐れをとり 除く． 恐れには 懲らしめが 伴い， かつ 恐れる 者には， 愛が 全うされていないからである．
- わたしたちが 愛し 合うのは， 神がまずわたしたちを 愛して 下さったからである．
- 「神を 愛している 」と 言いながら 兄弟を 憎む 者は， 僞り 者である． 現に 見ている 兄弟を 愛さない 者は， 目に 見えない 神を 愛することはできない．

- And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
- Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
- There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
- We love him, because he first loved us.
- If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

- 神を 愛する 者は， 兄弟をも 愛すべきである． この 戒めを， わたしたちは 神から 授かっている．

- And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
