- 「シャルテル の 子， ユダ の 總督 ゼルバベル と， ヨザダク の 子， 大祭司 ヨシュア ， および 殘りのすべての 民に 告げて 言え，
- 『あなたがた 殘りの 者のうち， 以前の 榮光に 輝く 主の 家を 見た 者はだれか． あなたがたは 今， この 狀態をどう 思うか． これはあなたがたの 目には， 無にひとしいではないか．
- 主は 言われる， ゼルバベル よ， 勇氣を 出せ． ヨザダク の 子， 大祭司 ヨシュア よ， 勇氣を 出せ． 主は 言われる． この 地のすべての 民よ， 勇氣を 出せ． ¿け． わたしはあなたがたと 共にいると， 万軍の 主は 言われる．

- In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying,
- Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
- Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
- Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
- According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.

- 万軍の 主はこう 言われる， しばらくして， いま 一度， わたしは 天と， 地と， 海と， かわいた 地とを 震う．
- わたしはまた 万國民を 震う． 万國民の 財寶は， はいって 來て， わたしは 榮光をこの 家に 滿たすと， 万軍の 主は 言われる．
- 銀はわたしのもの， 金もわたしのものであると， 万軍の 主は 言われる．
- 主の 家の 後の 榮光は， 前の 榮光よりも 大きいと， 万軍の 主は 言われる． わたしはこの 所に 繁榮を 與えると， 万軍の 主は 言われる 』」．

- For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
- And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
- The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
- The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
- In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,

- 「万軍の 主はこう 言われる， 律法について 祭司たちに 尋ねて 言え，
- 『人がその 衣服のすそで 聖なる 肉を 運んで 行き， そのすそがもし， パン またはあつもの， または 酒， または 油， またはどんな 食物にでもさわったなら， それらは 聖なるものとなるか 』と 」． 祭司たちは「ならない 」と 答えた．
- ハガイ はまた 言った， 「もし， 死體によって 汚れた 人が， これらの 一つにさわったなら， それは 汚れるか 」． 祭司たちは「汚れる 」と 答えた．
- そこで， ハガイ は 言った， 「主は 言われる， この 民も， この 國も， わたしの 前では， そのようである． またその 手のわざもそのようである． その 所で 彼らのささげるものは， 汚れたものである．

- Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,
- If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
- Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.
- Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.
- And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:

- あの 時には， 二十¿の 麥の 積まれる 所に 行ったが， わずかに 十¿を 得， また 五十桶をくもうとして， 酒ぶねに 行ったが， 二十桶を 得たのみであった．
- わたしは 立ち 枯れと， 腐り 穗と， ひょうをもってあなたがたと， あなたがたのすべての 手のわざを 擊った． しかし， あなたがたは， わたしに 歸らなかったと 主は 言われる．
- あなたがたはこの 日より 後， すなわち， 九月二十四日よりの 事を 思うがよい． また 主の 宮の 基をすえた 日から 後の 事を 心にとめるがよい．
- 種はなお， 納屋にあるか． ぶどうの 木， いちじくの 木， ざくろの 木， オリブ の 木もまだ 實を 結ばない． しかし， わたしはこの 日から， あなたがたに 惠みを 與える 」．
- この 月の 二十四日に， 主の 言葉がふたたび ハガイ に 臨んだ，

- Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.
- I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD.
- Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid, consider it.
- Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.
- And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,

- 「ユダ の 總督 ゼルバベル に 告げて 言え， わたしは 天と 地を 震う．
- わたしは 國¿の 王位を 倒し， 異邦の 國¿の 力を 滅ぼし， また 戰車， およびこれに 乘る 者を 倒す． 馬およびこれに 乘る 者は， たがいにその 仲間のつるぎによって 倒れる．
- 万軍の 主は 言われる， シャルテル の 子， わがしもべ ゼルバベル よ， 主は 言われる， その 日， わたしはあなたを 立て， あなたを 印章のようにする． わたしはあなたを 選んだからであると， 万軍の 主は 言われる 」．

- Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
- And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
- In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts.
