- ダリヨス の 第二年の 八月に， 主の 言葉が イド の 子 ベレキヤ の 子である 預言者 ゼカリヤ に 臨んだ，
- 「主はあなたがたの 先祖たちに 對して， いたくお 怒りになった．
- それゆえ， 万軍の 主はこう 仰せられると， 彼らに 告げよ． 万軍の 主は 仰せられる， わたしに 歸れ， そうすれば， わたしもあなたがたに 歸ろうと， 万軍の 主は 仰せられる．
- あなたがたの 先祖たちのようであってはならない． 先の 預言者たちは， 彼らにむかって 叫んで 言った， 『万軍の 主はこう 仰せられる， 惡い 道を 離れ， 惡いおこないを 捨てて 歸れ 』と． しかし 彼らは 聞きいれず， 耳をわたしに 傾けなかったと 主は 言われる．
- あなたがたの 先祖たち， 彼らはどこにいるか． 預言者たち， 彼らは 永遠に 生きているのか．

- In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
- The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
- Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.
- Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD.
- Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

- しかしわたしのしもべである 預言者たちに 命じたわが 言葉と， わが 定めとは， あなたがたの 先祖たちに 及んだではないか． それで 彼らは 立ち 返って 言った， 『万軍の 主がわれわれの 道にしたがい， おこないに 從って， われわれに， なそうと 思い 定められたように， そのとおりされたのだ 』と 」．
- ダリヨス の 第二年の 十一月， すなわち セバテ という 月の 二十四日に， 主の 言葉が イド の 子 ベレキヤ の 子である 預言者 ゼカリヤ に 臨んだ． そして ゼカリヤ は 言った，
- 「わたしは 夜， 見ていると， ひとりの 人が 赤馬に 乘って， 谷間にある ミルトス の 木の 中に 立ち， その 後に 赤馬， 栗毛の 馬， 白馬がいた．
- その 時わたしが『わが 主よ， これらはなんですか 』と 尋ねると， わたしと 語る 天の 使は 言った， 『これがなんであるか， あなたに 示しましょう 』．
- すると， ミルトス の 木の 中に 立っている 人が 答えて， 『これらは 地を 見回らせるために， 主がつかわされた 者です 』と 言うと，

- But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
- Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
- I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
- Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
- And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.

- 彼らは 答えて， ミルトス の 中に 立っている 主の 使に 言った， 『われわれは 地を 見回ったが， 全地はすべて 平穩です 』．
- すると 主の 使は 言った， 『万軍の 主よ， あなたは， いつまで エルサレム と ユダ の 町¿とを， あわれんで 下さらないのですか． あなたはお 怒りになって， すでに 七十年になりました 』．
- 主はわたしと 語る 天の 使に， ねんごろな 慰めの 言葉をもって 答えられた．
- そこで， わたしと 語る 天の 使は 言った， 『あなたは 呼ばわって 言いなさい． 万軍の 主はこう 仰せられます， わたしは エルサレム のため， シオン のために， 大いなるねたみを 起し，
- 安らかにいる 國¿の 民に 對して， 大いに 怒る． なぜなら， わたしが 少しばかり 怒ったのに， 彼らは， 大いにこれを 惱ましたからであると．

- And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
- Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
- And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
- So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
- And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.

- それゆえ， 主はこう 仰せられます， わたしはあわれみをもって エルサレム に 歸る． わたしの 家はその 中に 建てられ， 測りなわは エルサレム に 張られると， 万軍の 主は 仰せられます．
- あなたはまた 呼ばわって 言いなさい． 万軍の 主はこう 仰せられます， わが 町¿は 再び 良い 物で 滿ちあふれ， 主は 再び シオン を 慰め， 再び エルサレム を 選ぶ 』と 」．
- わたしが 目をあげて 見ていると， 見よ， 四つの 角があった．
- わたしと 語る 天の 使に「これらはなんですか 」と 言うと， 彼は 答えて 言った， 「これらは ユダ ， イスラエル および エルサレム を 散らした 角です 」．
- その 時， 主は 四人の 鍛冶をわたしに 示された．

- Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
- Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
- Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
- And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
- And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.

- わたしが「これらは 何をするために 來たのですか 」と 言うと， 彼は 答えた， 「これらの 角は ユダ を 散らして， 人にその 頭をあげさせなかったものですが， この 四人の 者が 來たのは 彼らをおどし， かの ユダ の 地にむかって 角をあげ， これを 散らした 國¿の 民の 角を 投げうつためです 」．

- Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
