- また， イエス はある 所で 祈っておられたが， それが 終ったとき， 弟子のひとりが 言った， 「主よ， ヨハネ がその 弟子たちに 敎えたように， わたしたちにも 祈ることを 敎えてください 」．
- そこで 彼らに 言われた， 「祈るときには， こう 言いなさい， 『父よ， 御名があがめられますように． 御國がきますように．
- わたしたちの 日ごとの 食物を， 日¿お 與えください．
- わたしたちに 負債のある 者を 皆ゆるしますから， わたしたちの 罪をもおゆるしください． わたしたちを 試みに 會わせないでください 』」．
- そして 彼らに 言われた， 「あなたがたのうちのだれかに， 友人があるとして， その 人のところへ 眞夜中に 行き， 『友よ， パン を 三つ 貸してください．

- It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples."
- And He said to them, "When you pray, say: 'Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.
- 'Give us each day our daily bread.
- 'And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.'"
- Then He said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves;

- 友だちが 旅先からわたしのところに 着いたのですが， 何も 出すものがありませんから 』と 言った 場合，
- 彼は 內から， 『面倒をかけないでくれ． もう 戶は 締めてしまったし， 子供たちもわたしと 一緖に 床にはいっているので， いま 起きて 何もあげるわけにはいかない 』と 言うであろう．
- しかし， よく 聞きなさい， 友人だからというのでは 起きて 與えないが， しきりに 願うので， 起き 上がって 必要なものを 出してくれるであろう．
- そこでわたしはあなたがたに 言う． 求めよ， そうすれば， 與えられるであろう． 搜せ， そうすれば 見いだすであろう． 門をたたけ， そうすれば， あけてもらえるであろう．
- すべて 求める 者は 得， 搜す 者は 見いだし， 門をたたく 者はあけてもらえるからである．

- for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him';
- and from inside he answers and says, 'Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.'
- "I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
- "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
- "For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.

- あなたがたのうちで， 父であるものは， その 子が 魚を 求めるのに， 魚の 代りにへびを 與えるだろうか．
- 卵を 求めるのに， さそりを 與えるだろうか．
- このように， あなたがたは 惡い 者であっても， 自分の 子供には， 良い 贈り 物をすることを 知っているとすれば， 天の 父はなおさら， 求めて 來る 者に 聖靈を 下さらないことがあろうか 」．

- "Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
- "Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he?
- "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
