	열왕기하 6:24-8:29 아람군의 포위로 사마리아 성에 극심한 기근과 참상이 있었다. 그러나 엘리사는 사마리아의 회복과 이를 믿지 않고 조롱하는 관리의 죽음을 예언하였고, 결국 그의 예언은 하나님의 전적인 역사로 그대로 성취되었다. 하사엘은 엘리사의 예언대로 아람 왕 벤하닷을 살해하고 왕위에 올랐다. 한편 여호사밧의 뒤를 이은 유다 왕 여호람과 아하시야는 악정을 행하였다.

	아람의 2차 침입(6:24-7:20)

この後スリヤの王ベネハダデはその全軍を集め，上ってきてサマリヤを攻め圍んだので，

サマリヤに激しいききんが起った．すなわち彼らがこれを攻め圍んだので，ついに，ろばの頭一つが銀八十シケルで賣られ，はとのふん一カブの四分の一が銀五シケルで賣られるようになった．

イスラエルの王が城壁の上をとおっていた時，ひとりの女が彼に呼ばわって，「わが主，王よ，助けてください」と言ったので，

彼は言った，「もし主があなたを助けられないならば，何をもってわたしがあなたを助けることができよう．打ち場の物をもってか，酒ぶねの物をもってか」．

そして王は女に尋ねた，「何事なのですか」．彼女は答えた，「この女はわたしにむかって『あなたの子をください．わたしたちは，きょうそれを食べ，あす，わたしの子を食べましょう』と言いました．

Now it came about after this, that Ben-hadad king of Aram gathered all his army and went up and besieged Samaria.

There was a great famine in Samaria; and behold, they besieged it, until a donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a fourth of a kab of dove's dung for five shekels of silver.

As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall a woman cried out to him, saying, "Help, my lord, O king!"

He said, "If the LORD does not help you, from where shall I help you? From the threshing floor, or from the wine press?"

And the king said to her, "What is the matter with you?" And she answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give your son that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.'

それでわたしたちは，まずわたしの子を煮て食べましたが，次の日わたしが彼女にむかって『あなたの子をください．わたしたちはそれを食べましょう』と言いますと，彼女はその子を隱しました」．

王はその女の言葉を聞いて，衣を裂き， ――王は城壁の上をとおっていたが，民が見ると，その身に荒布を着けていた ――

そして王は言った「きょう，シャパテの子エリシャの首がその肩の上にすわっているならば，神がどんなにでもわたしを罰してくださるように」．

さてエリシャはその家に座していたが，長老たちもきて彼と共に座した．王は自分の所から人をつかわしたが，エリシャはその使者がまだ着かないうちに長老たちに言った，「あなたがたは，この人を殺す者がわたしの首を取るために，人をつかわすのを見ますか．その使者がきたならば，戶を閉じて，內に入れてはなりません．彼のうしろに，その主君の足音がするではありませんか」．

彼がなお彼らと語っているうちに，王は彼のもとに下ってきて言った，「この災は主から出たのです．わたしはどうしてこの上，主を待たなければならないでしょうか」．

"So we boiled my son and ate him; and I said to her on the next day, 'Give your son, that we may eat him'; but she has hidden her son."

When the king heard the words of the woman, he tore his clothes--now he was passing by on the wall--and the people looked, and behold, he had sackcloth beneath on his body.

Then he said, "May God do so to me and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat remains on him today."

Now Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him And the king sent a man from his presence; but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, "Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door and hold the door shut against him. Is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?"

While he was still talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him and he said, "Behold, this evil is from the LORD; why should I wait for the LORD any longer?"

エリシャは言った，「主の言葉を聞きなさい．主はこう仰せられる，『あすの今ごろサマリヤの門で，麥粉一セアを一シケルで賣り，大麥二セアを一シケルで賣るようになるであろう』」．

時にひとりの副官すなわち王がその人の手によりかかっていた者が神の人に答えて言った，「たとい主が天に窓を開かれても，そんな事がありえましょうか」．エリシャは言った，「あなたは自分の目をもってそれを見るであろう．しかしそれを食べることはなかろう」．

さて町の門の入口に四人のらい病人がいたが，彼らは互に言った，「われわれはどうしてここに座して死を待たねばならないのか．

われわれがもし町にはいろうといえば，町には食物が盡きているから，われわれはそこで死ぬであろう．しかしここに座していても死ぬのだ．いっその事，われわれはスリヤびとの陣營へ逃げて行こう．もし彼らがわれわれを生かしておいてくれるならば，助かるが，たといわれわれを殺しても死ぬばかりだ」．

そこで彼らはスリヤびとの陣營へ行こうと，たそがれに立ちあがったが，スリヤびとの陣營のほとりに行って見ると，そこにはだれもいなかった．

Then Elisha said, "Listen to the word of the LORD; thus says the LORD, 'Tomorrow about this time a measure of fine flour will be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.'"

The royal officer on whose hand the king was leaning answered the man of God and said, "Behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?" Then he said, "Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat of it."

Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, "Why do we sit here until we die?

"If we say, 'We will enter the city,' then the famine is in the city and we will die there; and if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us go over to the camp of the Arameans. If they spare us, we will live; and if they kill us, we will but die."

They arose at twilight to go to the camp of the Arameans; when they came to the outskirts of the camp of the Arameans, behold, there was no one there.

これは主がスリヤびとの軍勢に戰車の音，馬の音，大軍の音を聞かせられたので，彼らは互に「見よ，イスラエルの王がわれわれを攻めるために，ヘテびとの王たちおよびエジプトの王たちを雇ってきて，われわれを襲うのだ」と言って，

たそがれに立って逃げ，その天幕と，馬と，ろばを捨て，陣營をそのままにしておいて，命を全うしようと逃げたからである．

そこでらい病人たちは陣營のほとりに行き，一つの天幕にはいって食い飮みし，そこから金銀，衣服を持ち出してそれを隱し，また來て，他の天幕に入り，そこからも持ち出してそれを隱した．

そして彼らは互に言った，「われわれのしている事はよくない．きょうは良いおとずれのある日であるのに，默っていて，夜明けまで待つならば，われわれは罰をこうむるであろう．さあ，われわれは行って王の家族に告げよう」．

そこで彼らは來て，町の門を守る者を呼んで言った，「わたしたちがスリヤびとの陣營に行って見ると，そこにはだれの姿も見えず，また人聲もなく，ただ，馬とろばがつないであり，天幕はそのままでした」．

For the Lord had caused the army of the Arameans to hear a sound of chariots and a sound of horses, even the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another, "Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us."

Therefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents and their horses and their donkeys, even the camp just as it was, and fled for their life.

When these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they entered one tent and ate and drank, and carried from there silver and gold and clothes, and went and hid them; and they returned and entered another tent and carried from there also, and went and hid them.

Then they said to one another, "We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, but we are keeping silent; if we wait until morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let us go and tell the king's household."

So they came and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and they told them, saying, "We came to the camp of the Arameans, and behold, there was no one there, nor the voice of man, only the horses tied and the donkeys tied, and the tents just as they were."

そこで門を守る者は呼ばわって，それを王の家族のうちに知らせた．

王は夜のうちに起きて，家來たちに言った，「スリヤびとがわれわれに對して圖っている事をあなたがたに告げよう．彼らは，われわれの飢えているのを知って，陣營を出て野に隱れ，『イスラエルびとが町を出たら，いけどりにして，町に押し入ろう』と考えているのだ」．

家來のひとりが答えて言った，「人¿に，ここに殘っている馬のうち五頭を連れてこさせてください．ここに殘っているこれらの人¿は，すでに滅びうせたイスラエルの全群衆と同じ運命にあうのですから．わたしたちは人をやってうかがわせましょう」．

そこで彼らはふたりの騎兵を選んだ．王はそれをつかわし，「行って見よ」と言って，スリヤびとの軍勢のあとをつけさせたので，

彼らはそのあとを追ってヨルダンまで行ったが，道にはすべて，スリヤびとがあわてて逃げる時に捨てていった衣服と武器が散らばっていた．その使者は歸ってきて，これを王に告げた．

The gatekeepers called and told it within the king's household.

Then the king arose in the night and said to his servants, "I will now tell you what the Arameans have done to us. They know that we are hungry; therefore they have gone from the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, 'When they come out of the city, we will capture them alive and get into the city.'"

One of his servants said, "Please, let some men take five of the horses which remain, which are left in the city. Behold, they will be in any case like all the multitude of Israel who are left in it; behold, they will be in any case like all the multitude of Israel who have already perished, so let us send and see."

They took therefore two chariots with horses, and the king sent after the army of the Arameans, saying, "Go and see."

They went after them to the Jordan, and behold, all the way was full of clothes and equipment which the Arameans had thrown away in their haste. Then the messengers returned and told the king.

そこで民が出ていって，スリヤびとの陣營をかすめたので，麥粉一セアは一シケルで賣られ，大麥二セアは一シケルで賣られ，主の言葉のとおりになった．

王は自分がその人の手によりかかっていた，あの副官を立てて門を管理させたが，民は門で彼を踏みつけたので，彼は死んだ．すなわち，王が神の人のところに下ってきた時，神の人が言ったとおりであった．

これは神の人が王にむかって，「あすの今ごろ，サマリヤの門で大麥二セアを一シケルで賣り，麥粉一セアを一シケルで賣るようになるであろう」と言ったときに，

その副官が神の人に答えて，「たとい主が天に窓を開かれても，そんな事がありえようか」と言ったからである．そのとき神の人は「あなたは自分の目をもってそれを見るであろう．しかしそれを食べることはなかろう」と言ったが，

これはそのとおり彼に臨んだ．すなわち民が門で彼を踏みつけたので彼は死んだ．

So the people went out and plundered the camp of the Arameans. Then a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.

Now the king appointed the royal officer on whose hand he leaned to have charge of the gate; but the people trampled on him at the gate, and he died just as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.

It happened just as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, "Two measures of barley for a shekel and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, will be sold tomorrow about this time at the gate of Samaria."

Then the royal officer answered the man of God and said, "Now behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, could such a thing be?" And he said, "Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat of it."

And so it happened to him, for the people trampled on him at the gate and he died.

	수넴 여인의 기업 회복(8:1-8:6)

エリシャはかつて，その子を生きかえらせてやった女に言ったことがある．「あなたは，ここを立って，あなたの家族と共に行き，寄留しようと思う所に寄留しなさい．主がききんを呼び下されたので，七年の間それがこの地に臨むから」．

そこで女は立って神の人の言葉のようにし，その家族と共に行ってペリシテびとの地に七年寄留した．

七年たって後，女はペリシテびとの地から歸ってきて，自分の家と畑のために王に訴えようと出ていった．

時に王は神の人のしもべゲハジにむかって「エリシャがしたもろもろの大きな事をわたしに話してください」と言って，彼と物語っていた．

すなわちエリシャが死人を生きかえらせた事を，ゲハジが王と物語っていたとき，その子を生きかえらせてもらった女が，自分の家と畑のために王に訴えてきたので，ゲハジは言った，「わが主，王よ，これがその女です．またこれがその子で，エリシャが生きかえらせたのです」．

Now Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, "Arise and go with your household, and sojourn wherever you can sojourn; for the LORD has called for a famine, and it will even come on the land for seven years."

So the woman arose and did according to the word of the man of God, and she went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.

At the end of seven years, the woman returned from the land of the Philistines; and she went out to appeal to the king for her house and for her field.

Now the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, "Please relate to me all the great things that Elisha has done."

As he was relating to the king how he had restored to life the one who was dead, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life appealed to the king for her house and for her field. And Gehazi said, "My lord, O king, this is the woman and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life."

王がその女に尋ねると，彼女は王に話したので，王は彼女のためにひとりの役人に命じて言った，「すべて彼女に屬する物，ならびに彼女がこの地を去った日から今までのその畑の産物をことごとく彼女に返しなさい」．

When the king asked the woman, she related it to him. So the king appointed for her a certain officer, saying, "Restore all that was hers and all the produce of the field from the day that she left the land even until now."

	하사엘의 등극(8:7-8:29)

さてエリシャはダマスコに來た．時にスリヤの王ベネハダデは病氣であったが，「神の人がここに來た」と告げる者があったので，

王はハザエルに言った，「贈り物を携えて行って神の人を迎え，彼によって主に『わたしのこの病氣はなおりましょうか』と言って尋ねなさい」．

そこでハザエルは彼を迎えようと，ダマスコのもろもろの良い物をらくだ四十頭に載せ，贈り物として携え行き，エリシャの前に立って言った，「あなたの子，スリヤの王ベネハダデがわたしをあなたにつかわして，『わたしのこの病氣はなおりましょうか』と言わせています」．

エリシャは彼に言った，「行って彼に『あなたは必ずなおります』と告げなさい．ただし主はわたしに，彼が必ず死ぬことを示されました」．

そして神の人がひとみを定めて彼の恥じるまでに見つめ，やがて泣き出したので，

Then Elisha came to Damascus Now Ben-hadad king of Aram was sick, and it was told him, saying, "The man of God has come here."

The king said to Hazael, "Take a gift in your hand and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD by him, saying, 'Will I recover from this sickness?'"

So Hazael went to meet him and took a gift in his hand, even every kind of good thing of Damascus, forty camels' loads; and he came and stood before him and said, "Your son Ben-hadad king of Aram has sent me to you, saying, 'Will I recover from this sickness?'"

Then Elisha said to him, "Go, say to him, 'You will surely recover,' but the LORD has shown me that he will certainly die."

He fixed his gaze steadily on him until he was ashamed, and the man of God wept.

ハザエルは言った，「わが主よ，どうして泣かれるのですか」．エリシャは答えた，「わたしはあなたがイスラエルの人¿にしようとする害惡を知っているからです．すなわち，あなたは彼らの城に火をかけ，つるぎをもって若者を殺し，幼な子を投げうち，妊娠の女を引き裂くでしょう」．

ハザエルは言った，「しもべは一匹の犬にすぎないのに，どうしてそんな大きな事をすることができましょう」．エリシャは言った，「主がわたしに示されました．あなたはスリヤの王となるでしょう」．

彼がエリシャのもとを去って，主君のところへ行くと，「エリシャはあなたになんと言ったか」と尋ねられたので，「あなたが必ずなおるでしょうと，彼はわたしに告げました」と答えた．

しかし翌日になってハザエルは布を取って水に浸し，それをもって王の顔をおおったので，王は死んだ．ハザエルは彼に代って王となった．

イスラエルの王アハブの子ヨラムの第五年に，ユダの王ヨシャパテの子ヨラムが位についた．

Hazael said, "Why does my lord weep?" Then he answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel: their strongholds you will set on fire, and their young men you will kill with the sword, and their little ones you will dash in pieces, and their women with child you will rip up."

Then Hazael said, "But what is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?" And Elisha answered, "The LORD has shown me that you will be king over Aram."

So he departed from Elisha and returned to his master, who said to him, "What did Elisha say to you?" And he answered, "He told me that you would surely recover."

On the following day, he took the cover and dipped it in water and spread it on his face, so that he died. And Hazael became king in his place.

Now in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then the king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah became king.

彼は王となったとき三十二歲で，八年の間エルサレムで世を治めた．

彼はアハブの家がしたようにイスラエルの王たちの道に步んだ．アハブの娘が彼の妻であったからである．彼は主の目の前に惡をおこなったが，

主はしもべダビデのためにユダを滅ぼすことを好まれなかった．すなわち主は彼とその子孫に常にともしびを與えると，彼に約束されたからである．

ヨラムの世にエドムがそむいてユダの支配を脫し，みずから王を立てたので，

ヨラムはすべての戰車を從えてザイルにわたって行き，その戰車の指揮官たちと共に，夜のうちに立ちあがって，彼を包圍しているエドムびとを擊った．しかしヨラムの軍隊は天幕に逃げ歸った．

He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab became his wife; and he did evil in the sight of the LORD.

However, the LORD was not willing to destroy Judah, for the sake of David His servant, since He had promised him to give a lamp to him through his sons always.

In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.

Then Joram crossed over to Zair, and all his chariots with him. And he arose by night and struck the Edomites who had surrounded him and the captains of the chariots; but his army fled to their tents.

エドムはこのようにそむいてユダの支配を脫し，今日に至っている．リブナもまた同時にそむいた．

So Joram slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son became king in his place.

In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah began to reign.

Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.

アハジヤはまたアハブの家の道に步み，アハブの家がしたように主の目の前に惡をおこなった．彼はアハブの家の ¿であったからである．

彼はアハブの子ヨラムと共に行って，スリヤの王ハザエルとラモテ · ギレアデで戰ったが，スリヤびとらはヨラムに傷を負わせた．

ヨラム王はそのスリヤの王ハザエルと戰うときにラマでスリヤびとに負わされた傷をいやすため，エズレルに歸ったが，ユダの王ヨラムの子アハジヤはアハブの子ヨラムが病んでいたので，エズレルに下って彼をおとずれた．

He walked in the way of the house of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD, like the house of Ahab had done, because he was a son-in-law of the house of Ahab.

Then he went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead, and the Arameans wounded Joram.

So King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram Then Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel because he was sick.
